If you were youre country's president or politician...

It has always been known that the number 1 problem of a country would be how to manage the poor. Regardless how rich a country is, there will always be beggars and those in society who live below the income bracket. Now, if you are your country's president or politician, how would you honestly find solution in order to alleviate the situation of the poor. I you're going to say 'have more jobs' that's a general idea, the question there is HOW? Similarly, if you're going to say 'give them education', the question there would be HOW? Where do you find the sources of funds? and How do you force them to go to school or have that education in the first place? I could remember my economics teacher during my primary years in college. It was just a thought but it really stuck my mind. He said that if we weren't so morally attuned and if we just considered people as people without souls, then one solution would be to gather all the people who are poor, then kill them. I know it's harsh but he did really have a point there, thought I'm not advocating that we all do that! But my main question that time was -- How would you feel if you were part of those who were poor and the government decides to do that??? or what if you have a sibling who's poor or someone you know closely who was poor and would be put to death?? So, what would you do?

If I had the power to do so, I would have all the poor people (women) execute all the men who cheat on their wives. Now that could be a very interesting community service job. What do you do for a living?? You dispose of dishonest marital partners who have been unfaithful to their wives. What do you get paid for that job? You get paid in satisfaction that you have helped to clean up your community. LOL LOL LOL

Wow, that's a great community service, but if that is the case, I'd be thinking that men would also vote to kill all the women who cheat as well. hahahahaa

This is a very interesting question, of course i think there is no obvious answer, because if there was one there would be no poverty. A good welfare state anyway should prevent the worst kind of poverty, but there will always be someone poor compared to someone else, a so called poor in a western country has much more than what 80% of humanity has, when a person thinks to be poor because he can't buy fuel or change his car or pay the phone bills, he should consider that those are not vital things, a real poor is someone who can't afford eating or a shelter. In a country with some kind of welfare state those things should be everyone's right. A system to achieve this is having some public housing with social prices, and unemployment subsides, paid by general taxation.

If I were President of the United States...since that is where I live...and if I had the power I would force the government to keep its nose out of the affairs of the people and force it to keep it's greedy hands off of the economy. Everyone has a right to be free and make their own decisions about what is best for their life. And they know better than any government what is best for them individually. Let the people have a free market economy and a government that does not intrude in their everyday lives and they will have the best opportunity to live free of poverty. But they must be willing to stand independently and learn from their failures for that is what it means to be free. No government, no matter how powerful or wise can guarantee an end to poverty. So let the people choose for themselves what path they will take and give them a free market economy that is regulated by supply and demand and pricing. And let the people keep the money they earn for they know better than government how it should be spent. Do that and everyone will have an opportunity to live free of poverty, if they so choose.

Poverty, unemployment, crime and corruption are the few problems that every country faces. We all make a lot of noise about it and it is not easy to solve them overnight. Well, coming to myself, I will take care of the corruption bit first, because it does go a long way in solving the other problems as well. May be forming Flying squads and sending them to various departments will serve the purpose.
