Here's a photo of some of the Strawberries I get each day now from my garden. I get about 25 to 40 each day and have for a week or two now. The neighbors as well as myself, wife and dad, love them. So are you eating fresh strawberries from your garden or a store? Nothing beats homegrown though. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

Hi Grandpa Bob...those look truly delicious! Nothing beats home grown because you know what is or is not on them in the way of chemicals. Also, nothing is as fresh. I have one tomato on my potted Early Girl that will be ready to pick in a day or two, and more on its heels! Happy gardening. Karen

Yes, nothing beats your own tomatoes fresh from the garden! These Early Girls are a first to me. I went out and sure enough, one large one was ready to pick! Early for Michigan :) It smells delicious!

I still have not gotten any strawberries, fresh or frozen. I want some strawberry short cake. I like my strawberries in sugar syrup.....I guess that is how you describe it.

No strawberries in my garden, but I'd love to have the time to set up a good spot for some next year. I love strawberries! Since my cholesterol is so high and I'm still having trouble losing weight, I'm trying to be more conscious of what I'm eating so trying to eat more fruit. Strawberries in the grocery store look great right now and they're of course in abundance since 'tis the season, so I've been taking advantage of it. I take out 3-4 really big berries and cut them to eat every morning - yum!

My strawberries were left by the birds. One plant is cultivated strawberries and the other three are wild. I've had quite a bit of fruit this year and it's as sweet as sweet can be. Much better than shop-bought strawberries, wherever they might have been grown. Brightest Blessings.

We have never had the chance to grow any fresh strawberries. My garden is very small. I love fresh strawberries though. Yummy. I love to just pick them off of the vine and eat them.

i envy you, strawberry is one of my favorite fruit and to think that i can have the abundance of it in our garden would be a true blessing. You are so lucky! it's like reaping what you sow, the fruits of your labor:) literally!:) I've only tasted strawberries which are bought in the market. I want to try the ones which are freshly picked:)

Hey Grandpa Bob! So nice to see you! I love strawberries! They are one of my favorite fruits! They are sooooooo expensive in the stores and they aren't even that tasty! They are about $2.99 a pound! Can you imagine that! I hardly ever buy them because they are gone in a minute because I love them so much! I wish I could have them home grown like you do! They look absolutely delicious and nothing like the ones in the store!

I love strawberries and they are my daughter's favourite too. My hubby always bring a couple of punnets of them from his shop and I and my daughter just finish them in a minute. You are right, homegrown are definitely better. They are juicier.

It is nice to know that you have home grown strawberries.I love strawberries especially mixed with milk , sugar and ice. How I wish I could also plant some strawberries at home, but I believe they need cold weather to grow.

hi bob, i havent done enough postings yet to be able to download pix, but the strawberries have been great this year. we came back off holiday and they were just right for picking. but the raspberries, well wow, they were getting just past their best, luckily i caught some , but a lot were over ripe unfortunately. the blueberries are looking good too. i have loads of redcurrants too but they look like ruby jewels on the branches and i dont really want to harvest them yet !! they look so pretty. mind you i expect the birds will think so too. and you are right, nothing beats homegrown. but my husband made me laugh today. i came home from work and was putting my shopping away in the fridge and found a glass with 4 cherries in there. he had been out in the garden and spotted some cherries on our tree. year after year the cherries start to ripen and get pinched by the birds! but this year, wow, we got about 10 , the best he ate, and left the rest for me to prove that we had actually got some cherries this year. i just found that so funny. the tree is full size but no cherries worth speaking of , ever !!have a good summer !

We decided to not do the strawberries this year since the squirrels at them all last year and we didnt get any. That is so great you are getting that many strawberries... we have a few pick your own farms around here and we can go get bushels of them... or smaller...LOL that might be a nice day out for our playdates (I am glad I read this, it gave me the idea to suggest it to my mom and aunt for one of our playdates) .... We have been getting more strawberries from our local fruit market as they are very ripe, very good and cheap right now...LOL Have some strawberries for me and enjoy them!!! Happy mylotting.
