Ok, I know sounds far fetched, But what would happen if the Internet totally shut down. No one could get onto mylot, shop online, chat, play online games, see their photos, send email. NOTHING!!!!How would you deal with it?? I myself would have a hard time dealing with it. It's how i make money. It's how i communicate with friends. It's where i keep my treasured photos. I would be going crazy without the net. How about you??

Oh dear I would go through major withdrawel - would take me a long time to adjust to no internet. Sure I would survive but life would certainly not be the same as it has been the last 10 or so years for me. Now you've given me something else to worry about - last week I was just worrying about myLot now the whole internet :(

Is this on a permanent basis or is it just a temporary shut down?

Well then, what else can I do ?I would close my interent banking and go to the bank for transactions. I will have to do other share transactions too like the old traditional way of going to a broker etc.., I will just convince myself that it was a temporary convenience given to me and what has to last would last and otherwise the earth won't fall. I will have to naturally curtail the running around because when I used to do all this walking and going by bus it was some 15 years ago and I had more energy. Now the energy levels would be less. So, I will tame my desires and take whatever is there. I will start writing in a notebook again ; I will miss my interent friends . Regarding chats with close people/ family there I will have to revert to telephone. That is all.I will get the telephone numbers of special mylot friends so that I can keep in touch at times.

Well on the positive side first it would save me a fortune if the internet shut down because I wouldn't lose so much on investments and gambling! On the downside I would miss my wonderful friends like you, my links to the outside world would be severed and I would find myself completely alone and totally and utterly isolated not a good thing, it would force me to go out more and interact with people which I hate! I think I would go cuckoo and probably have a breakdown, the thought is horrific to say the least!

Its easy, affordable and we can see him everyday unlike talking to phone. And now that i am engaged in some earning sites internet is really important for me. Well important is very important in every people so i hope it will not happen? I will be dying hhahah

Thanks to modernization and technology, we have almost relied everything to the internet. Connecting to friends, pouring our thoughts and opinions in sites such as this and blogging, researching for school, for games and entertainment, for news, updates, etc. We have relied almost everything to the net. Its as if a big chunk of our lives will be taken away if the internet shuts down. I guess if it does shut down, it will be a big change for us! and a big adjustment as well! Nowadays, we almost take for granted the value of books because internet research is less hassle, same with air mail because email is much much practical, even notebooks and pens we don't take much notice, because typing our fingers away is easier. haha. Oh well. That's technology and modernity for you!

well i think it will be a big problem if the internet is shut down because now a days a lot of things are now completly depended on internet and that is why i cant even image what will happen if the internet is down for longer time. a lot of economy is completly ased on internet also now a days which means it can affect in huge way.

I think it would be difficult at first, but as always, we would drift into either a new way of keeping "in touch" or revert to an older way. Yes, we would miss all our friends, but there's always the phone, and snail mail. Then again, I guess if it just suddenly shut down, we might not be privileged enough to have those numbers and addresses that we needed so much. Perhaps it's a good idea to make sure we store the numbers and mailing addresses of those we wish to keep in touch with... just in case. We managed before, my friend, so I'm sure we can manage again, if needed. Brightest Blessings, Always.

I'd be ok. I'd go back to the time B.I.(before Internet) I would read all those books I'm neglecting, finish the curtains in the lounge room, fix my bedroom curtains and make new ones for the living room. I would be able to spend more time on the Playstation and I might have time to keep up better with the housework though I would avoid that in every way possible...don't want to develop new bad habits.....muhahahahaha.

Hey, Well if the Internet would be completely shut down, I would start to panic. The main reason is because my life is totally boring without the Internet. I wouldn't be able to chat with my friends online, or watch YouTube videos either. Make sure you have a good day, God bless and Happy Lotting!!

The internet has made the world smaller, was able to bring people from the different parts of the world closer, and has made life easier. MyLot is one good example of what the internet can do - creating a community composed of different races, nationalities, cultures and beliefs. Some decades back doing online activities were unheard of, now it's like you're from some backwards planet if you don't know these things. Internet now comes as a basic need, making life difficult to imagine without it. But if shuts down, impossible as it may seem, I think people will find a way of coping. Through time man has emerged triumphant in the face of adversities.

That is just impossible! The internet is founded to share data freely. Shutting it down would be that "free" now would it? But okay, suppose it would be possible, I think we would go back to agriculture, the economy would break down and worst of all: mylot would stop existing!

noooooooooooo....!!! there's no way that i can run my daily activities without the internet, infact my work is all about the internet. i'm a broadband tutor, which i do teach my students about the healthy use of internet, including how to run our business, marketing through the internet. so now u can see lol i really can't do alots of thing without the internet. i don't keep my treasured photos though, i only shared what they would like to see specially if they're inside that picture too lol. i need my email because that's how i communicate with my students, my partner, and also how i chat with my closest friends. so, nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo...don't shut down the internet plizzzzzzzzzz !!!!! LOL

I know I would be fine without it, because I grew up without it. The internet came along about when I hit junior high. But my brother, who is only 25 right now, has pretty much grown up with it. That isn't to say that it wouldn't totally suck. Because it would. Modern society has become so dependent on the Internet for everything, that there would be mass hysteria if something were to happen to it. I couldn't really imagine life without being able to check my email, having fun debates and discussions on websites like MyLot, and ONLINE SHOPPING, which I am addicted to!! I think society would cope, but it would definitely be a hard blow and would hit the younger generation the hardest. Especially those who make their living online. I would really feel bad for those people.

To be honest i wouldnt care if the internet shut down it just would mean everybody would have to start doing the thing we used to before the internet came along...like actually talking to people, going to a book for information, etc. i mean this is how i make money now but before i started working online i really really wouldnt have cared

I think you are right. In the world now we cannot lose the internet because it is too important to the humans.Business, communication, reading, etc will be the same as the former.your opinion is great.
