/^\ Have you ever been in a Tee Pee?/^\

Tee Pees at Glastonbury Festival - For the chance of a superlative experience at the festival it was possible to pay extra, to have one's very own tee pee! Picture also gives view down to the centre of the festival, with all the music stages etc. In the background can be seen the now famous, fence or wall, to stop people hopping in for free!

In the past I can remember once when I slept in a Tee Pee with several other people. I had gone on a weekend to a new age festival called 'Quest', held at Newton Abbot racecourse (yes a racecourse!), Devon, England. On this weekend I was initiated into Reiki I, did a firewalk, with the other big event being a sweat lodge. A sweat lodge is like having a sauna in smallish tent. All the people involved, join in a circle inside, around a pile of hot stones, which have been specially selected to sacrifice themselves for us (!). I made various wishes to improve my life ahead. After this, most of us, then stayed overnight in a tee pee, which had it's atmosphere cleared by a smudge stick been wafted around it. The tee pee was big enough to fit maybe half a dozen or more of us inside it!The whole weekend was very magical. Then about 4 years ago, went to the Big Green Gathering, between Cheddar Gorge and Glastonbury, where a bunch of us had an area, including one couple who brought a tee pee along with them. The tee pee along with other tents were made into a circle, which all felt very tribal! This really enhanced our camping experience at BGG which again is very new age!So folks, back to the question, have you had any experiences with TEE PEEs?

Well, I think if you desire something strongly enough, for good reasons, your wish will be granted. I'm not sure about staying in the tee-pees at the festival, as though I'm sure it would be fun, they did all look a bit regimented, like one of those planted pine-tree woods... But in a more natural setting, it's WoW!!!

We own a TEE PEE from our days when Hubby belonged to the local Mountain Men, Black Powder club. It's a good sized one five people can sleep and has a beautiful picture of a local Indian Hero painted by one of our neighbors on the outside.

Mountain Men, Black Powder club - yes, an intriguing name! What kind of black powder could this be? Thanks for your response, Savy.

I remember going inside one when we were on one of our vacations. But for the life of me I can not remember where we were when we went in it. I do remember being inside of it and remember what it looked like inside and everything, I think it was at a local apple farm if I remember correctly. We didn't get to sleep in or anything we just got to inside and look around, and then come back out.

Love the symbols. I've been in a Tee Pee several times. When I worked with the youth we attended Tee Pee Bible Camp in Rifle, CO. It was a great time because we were counselors to kids who came from broken or troubled homes. Getting them alone and away from their problems really allowed them to open up and learn about God. I'm not sure what happened to any of them since that was about 15 years ago. Recently we went back to Tee Pee Bible Camp and were counselors again, it was a great time and my kids even got to go and see what we talked about.

An interesting response! And I think Colorado is one of the most beautiful states! On a round-the-world trip spent time in Denver, to the north; riding some of the mountain bike circuits and further south; Colorado Springs and high up round Durango, exploring the mines. It must have been so satisfying helping the kids at camp... So you're still around Gitfiddleplayer, haven't seen you on the site for a while now. Take care, DH
