Do You Think the Shaq Trade To the Cavaliers Is Over-Hyped?

I think it is somewhat as Shaq is 37 and is not what he use to be. Look what happened when he was with the Suns but also Amare got injured towards the end of the season which caused them to miss the playoffs. Shaq now has the best NBA player Lebron James now though. I just get that feeling though having Shaq and Lebron James so close to the post around each other doesn't give them enough room to play their game as Lebron is a big guy as well at over 250lbs. I still think the Cavaliers are a better team now though. This is suppose to be Shaqs last season. I also heard that the Cavs are trying to get Ron Artest and if they got him they should at least get to the finals.

It's over rated. Does it really help the Cavs? I say maybe. They really didn't give up anything to get him. I think the big guy is going to clog up the middle on offense more than they would like. Shaq has to help deliver a championship next season. If he doesn't I think Lebron is going to fly. The ball so to speak is in the hands of Shaq and the coaching staff. I think it's a big gamble and I'm not convinced it will work.

yeah i don't see lebron staying if he doesn't win a ring.

it wont help them a lot if someone as big as shaq clogs up the interior of the court. cavs' offense revolves around penetrations of lebron and mo. the big guy will just create space issues on the middle

also since seeing the beginning of the nba since tells me something about the cavs not having much improved but than again the season has just started. maybe the cavs can get the chemistry right to start winning games with shaq in the lineup. something tells me it might be too hard to do though with lebron be a slasher and shaq being a post player. its hard to see the cavs winning an nba ring from my perspective but who knows.

It's not overhyped -that's just how it is in basketball. It's a good deal for Cavs, I'm sure because now they have a "dominant" center. But I doubt that Shaq can really play with Dwight Howard - he's wayy past his prime. It'll be a good season, we'll see. Tons of competition for sure. Vince Carter is going to play with Dwight Howard!!! Crazy! As much as I don't like Ron Artest as a person, I guess I'm gonna have to start liking the man. Because gosh darn it he's playin in my team!! GRRRR!! .

vince carter doesn't have the legs to jump like he use to. ron artest is better than vince carter because hes a better defender outside the post as well as a good scorer. michael jordan even complimented him because of his defense. artest will help kobe greatly.

HELL NO! You want Ron Artest in your team? You can have him!! He's just looking for a ring - he's getting ready to retire. That's all.

I believe that the Cavaliers are trying to put together a team that will get that ring for Lebron James. Look how long Lebron has been playing and still no ring. I think the trade is more for the Cavalier fans who are disappointed year after year as the owners figured out that Lebron was just not enough to get them that ring. Even Batman had a sidekick (Robin) to call for help sometimes.

Well you do know that Lebron is being pursued by other teams and it is his loyalty to his home team that keeps him their. Maybe he final gave his team an ultimatum I agree that Lebron is an awesome player but he hasn't been able to secure a ring on his own so something has to give.

I think all of these celebrity ventures are overhyped. They draw too much attention to these people instead of doing something more constructive. I wish they would spend their time on something more prosperous.

personally im a fan of cavs. however i think acquiring shaq was not a very good idea on the part of the cavs. lebron cannot operate more and it lessens his penetrations towards the basket when shaq is on the court. and of course the bigman wont like the fact if lebron is always the one holding the ball so he would also like to score himself thus posting up and crowding up the lane for penetrations from mo and lebron. :D no offense to shaq's fans though. this is just an opinion.

shaq realized the cavs are not his team and its lebrons team when he signed with the cavs. shaq also realizes hes not the player he use to be and more than anything he signed with the cavs to win one more ring before retiring.

When the regular season ended last year. And the Cavaliers finish with the best NBA record and Lebron James was hailed as the NBA's Most Valuable Player (MVP), I thought that it would be the Cavs year to win the NBA championship.. But guess what? They have beaten by the Magic in the Eastern Conference Finals. I thought that the missing piece of the Cavs was Mo Williams. But I was wrong again. And now that Shaq is already in Cavs, I think that this time, Cavs won't fail. They will win the NBA championship. Remember when Shaq was traded to Miami Heat? He teamed up with Dwayne Wade and win an NBA Championship.

shaq was younger then though but dwight howard would even have a tough time with shaq but than again lebron is better than wade ever was.

I think Shaq has passed it, he is no longer the dominant player he use to be. What Cav's were missing last season in the playoffs was a "Robin" to "Batman - aka Lebron" Ron Artest would've been a better pick than Shaq, but he has gone to Lakers for Ariza, and I think Lamar Odom is stayin in Lakers. To me, unless Cav's bring in a "Robin" they won't win the championship. I'd still rate the Cavs 3rd after Boston and Orlando (now with Vince Carter :O).
