It is hard. I have experienced this when I had an overtime work that took me until 5am. I didn't feel the sleepiness while I was working but when I was already on my car, driving on my way home, there I feel sleepy. My eyes wanted to close. I am fighting not to get sleep. I know just one glimpse of error and it will cause me accident. My driving is getting weary, I almost get in the other lane. But fortunately I got home safe. That is really a hard experience. Have you already experience driving sleepy?

wow, markmoney it's really dangerous. i think u cant be so again.though u'r lucky this time. when u'r tired again, maybe before u drive, u can drink something like coffee to refresh yourself, or with some dynamic songs, etc when i drive, i'll focus on it, and even i want to sleep, i will forget the tireness. i really feel it's very strange. i dont know if it's the diffenence between the male and female. cause my uncle also says he will feel tired when on the highway for too long time. well, just be careful next time.

It's the lack of sleep mixed with tireness. Imagine, from 8am till 5am the next day, it was really tiring. That's why I really felt sleepy when I was already driving. All I have in mind that time is I want to reach home and lie down on my bed. Lol! Yes, I survived, I won't avoid that from now on. I'm glad that you can forget your tireness. Good for you. But please always take care too. Drive safely always. Thank you for your response. Happy myLotting!

Yes, it's difficult to drive when you're tired, your body is asking for rest, and you will feel sleepy. It's good for you that you can avoid driving tired. Thank you for your response. Happy myLotting!

Yes, i think every driver can experience this. but with a good sound to accompany you, you can avoid the sleepiness you feel. turn up the volume and party even by yourself, just to stay safe =)

Yes, that can help, but there were also times that we can't do anything but to fall asleep. In what I have experienced, I was so sleepy that even the music cannot stop it. I'm so glad I was able to reached home safe. But yes, music is one thing that we can have to ease our sleepiness. Thank you for your response. Happy myLotting!

I hate this part as well. That is the reason that I always try to sleep on time and get as much sleep as I can before I start to drive. It is very dangerous when driving sleepy.

Yes, I hate it too, but sometimes we can't avoid it, just like what happend to me, I have had an overtime work that made me stay awake til morning. But since you mentioned that you always sleep on time and get much sleep, I now like to sleep, since it's almost midnight here now. Lol! I think I have to sleep now. Thank you for your response. Happy myLotting!

Many years ago I experienced driving late into the night and getting very sleepy. I could feel how dangerous this was so pulled in and had a hot coffee and a long rest. I felt really fine then. Not long after that I learned of an accident where a driver fell asleep at the wheel and caused a huge crash in which people were killed. It really isn't worth the risk and it is better to arrive at your destination late, than not at all. - Derek

Yes, safety first. I know it's too risky to continue driving if you feel sleepy. My experience will be my last, I don't want to experience that again as it is really hard. And maybe on the second time around, I can't control my sleepiness anymore. So yes, I would not continue driving when sleepy. Thank you for your response. Happy myLotting!

yep. i do that all the time. i know its dangerous so i make sure that i drive slowly and if my sleepiness is really unbearable, i park on the side of the road or i look for a gas station where i can take a short nap or drink a cup of coffee.

Yes I have once or twice before and it was driving home from work after a very long day. I was also fighting real hard not to sleep, so I got off at a service station and had a rest. I have learnt that driving whilst feeling sleepy is a really silly thing to do. You are better off having a strong coffee before departing on future journeys when you know you are that tired.

Yes, I was driving accross country. Approximately 2700 miles. I was alone and I had to keep stopping at truck stops to get coffee. I was also taking no-dose, but after a while no-dose does not work anymore. Finally, I had to stop and get a hotel room. I was kinda disappointed because I only had like 5 more hours to drive, but it was the safest option.

In your case, you really need a stop over since it's really a long drive. You just did the nice decision. It's too risky to continue driving. In my case, yes I took the risk, but it's not far, just a 30 minutes drive. And I can't find a place to stop. So I just add a prayer while driving. Thanks for your response. Happy myLotting!

I fell asleep driving and hit a truck! It changed my life forever! I was the only one injured. My SUV was totaled too! I could not walk for 6 months!! I still limp a little. Everyone needs to know their limits! Do not push yourself if you are tired.

Oh, I'm sorry to know that. I hope you can able to walk comfortably soon. We must learn from our mistakes, and other mistakes as well. Knowing what happened to you serves as a lesson not only for you but also for us. Yes, we should know our limits, when to go and when to stop. Thank you for your response. Happy myLotting!

Not yet. Whenever I feel sleepy, I'll just sleep inside the car rather than drive because it is dangerous. If I feel sleepy while on the way, I'll stop the car and sleep in the road or any place where parking is allowed even in the gasoline stations! It can allow me to rest my mind and be safe at the same time.

Yes, it is too risky to continue driving if you feel sleepy. Your practice is the proper and the safe way. In my case, I just can't find a place to stop so I just continued driving since it's just almost 15 minutes left drive. And while driving, I just say a prayer. I'm glad I got home safe. Thank you for your response. Happy myLotting!

Yes especially when the weather is hot. I get sleepy and groggy so sometimes I have to pull over the car and cool down.

yes i have! i used to work night shifts before so my body had trouble adjusting. one day, me and my previous girlfriend decided to go on a date. i was very sleepy but since i wanted to go out with her, i did. i told her to watch me driving so that she can wake me up if ever i fall asleep. i was driving the car on our way home when i suddenly doze off. when the car skewed to the center lane she immediately woke me up. if i was alone, i would have crashed that day. luckily though, nothing happened. i learned my lesson...
