Well I don't know how many of you are into astrology, but my birthsign is Cancer the Crab. My birthday is on July 15th. In ten days. I have only two people left in my family. That is my son and my mom. And for me that means a very quiet birthday. And that makes me kinda sad. I usta have pen pals from all over the world when we lived in Florida. I had 482. I loved it. It was great. The postage didn't bother me either. I don't smoke or drink alcohol or even coffee. So buying stamps and sending little trinkets was fun. But I don't have that any more. My only wish and hope. Is that maybe some of my friends wonderful here might want to send me birthday cards. You would have someone that would send you cards for every single holiday and occasion the rest of your life or my life which ever came first! lol Pathetic right! I know, it's just the ranting of a old silly woman. I mean I have been up all night and it's 6:37am you would think I should have gone to sleep by now. I know tell me to shut this darn thing off and quit worrying and go to bed, lol. So anyway. Back to my original topic. What's your birth sign? Cancer women are generally home bodies, big boned, and love to cook. What about you? Are you a Cancer?

When it comes to Cancers, my family is full of them. My sister just celebrated her birthday on the 4th, one of my daughter's is on the 14th, 2 granddaughters on the 9th and 15th, a cousin on the 12th! They are all pretty different in temperament. As for me, I am a Taurus, April 23, and one of my great-grandson's birthday is on the 22nd. My daughter's is on the 16th, and a great-nephew's is on the 23rd along with mine.

Although my star sign is Libra, I have Cancer rising at the time of my birth, so that gives me many Cancerian character traits. I have always worked from home and I love my home. I don't love to cook, but my wife tells me I cook very well. My Libra Sun sign likes to have everything in order and I tend to dislike clutter of any sort.
Reading astrological signs is very interesting, but it became much more accurate when I had my birth chart worked out by an astrologer friend. - Derek

I am not a Cancer but one of my friends is and from what you described about Cancers she is just like that!
I am a Sagittarius and am very much like my sign - the good and the bad. Sagittarians are curious and love to learn. They are independent, love to travel, are optimistic and love to travel. That's me!
As for celebrating my birthday, I don't really make a big thing out of it now that I am older. I joke with people saying I will stay the same age this year. They laugh but I'm serious!

My birth sign is a cancer..and I can be crabby at times..My birthday was the other day 5th. My actual birthday was so quiet it passed without much notice even..no cake..even although my hips thanked me for that. Wow 482 pen pals? now that is alot of postage,ink envelopes, and paper. I love to cook and lets just say there is nothing small about me.
When I want to send someone a card here at mylot or other places and they are on my friends list I will either leave the link to the card in a discussion of theirs I answered or in a private message. So people won't have to worry about postage but you can still be able to get a few cards to enjoy.

I'm getting tired of begging people for home address or email address. I am handicapped and terminally ill. And trying to do something nice. To be a friend and reachout. Write you hand written letters once a month. Send birthday cards in the mail, Christmas cards, Easter, Halloween, cards for no reason. That is just the kind of person I am. But that's OK. No I don't want your myspace addie. that does me no good. I can write you here. I'll just write you here. It won't be as much fun. I won't be able to send you personal photos of the Kentucky Derby, Thunder over Louisville, or my 6 cats all sitting in the kitchen sink because it is nice an cool and the house is hot. But that's ok. I'll drop a PM later:)

Wow! Family is important. I only have my daughter and her two kids. Sad,huh? I have a lot of great memories with my mom and dad and my grandpa and grandma. I have already started a horoscope discussion but you are welcome to read it if you like. I stay up all night sometimes too. Nice to watch the night become day.

You are just as bad as I am, I stay up to 5.am. everyday, can't keep away from my computer and my friends here, I am 56 nearly 57 and my birthday is in august, I have three friends and they forget my birthday also I have three brothers and two sisters but one sister only sends me a birthday card, I have no children, just my hubby but he don't give me anything, he says its just another day, so i am in a same boat as you, so Happy Birthday for the 15th, my friend. Hugs.

The part about being a homebody is so true in my case. I'd rather stay home and potter about, cleaning things, working on getting my plants to grow, and things like that. I'm not that much of an ambitious go-getter. hehe

My sign is also "Cancer", birthday being July 8th...my sister's is July 17th, and my mom's is July 31st(although she doesn't share the Cancer sign and is a Leo instead), and my uncle is on the same day as mine. So we are definitely a July Family. I never followed or believed in those dailey horoscopes, but I have read the personalities of the "Cancer", and other signs that my family share, and I must admit the descriptions of the signs do match alot of the people I know. I was actually flabergasted when I read all about "Cancer", and "Leo" ..they really matched our personalities. I was married once to a "Leo", and some of my bosses who I worked for were Leos, and for some reason I was attracted to so many of them..that's what made me look into the personalities of these signs, and discovered that while "Cancers" are attracted to "Leos", we can't live with them, and they are so right. They say are capadability sign is "Pices", and I was in love with one in the past. So there is some truth to astrology.

Hi! I am very into astrology as well, after I figured out it actually was right most of the time. I was going to comment to the entire thread, but I saw your response, Sweetchariot, and had to clear up a few things.
I've read many compatibility charts for Cancers and Leos...I am a Leo, and my husband is a Cancer. Only one out of the dozens I've read have said that Leo and Cancers cannot coexist. The rest have said mostly good things, one even saying that it was a near perfect match. I'm not calling you wrong in any sense, but I do want to point out that I think it depends on the circumstances, the actual people with the Leo and Cancer signs, and how badly they want the relationship to work. With my husband and I, you can imagine I'm the decision-maker, and I also happen to be the breadwinner and the one who "makes things happen" so-to-speak in our relationship. I give my husband the security he needs and he gives me the respect and admiration I need...which, proving astrology correct, is exactly what both signs are usually looking for.
Now, my husband and I are newlyweds, but have been together for almost five years now. We were each other's first everythings and have missed a total of three days of seeing each other throughout these five years. I think we work so well together because we both fill specific important needs that no one has ever met for us before. I can see how for other Cancers and Leos it wouldn't work, of course, but for us...the one compatibility that explained it best was the one that said if there was a perfect match we were it.
Like I said, I'm not trying to prove you wrong or say anything of the sort...personal situations can never be wrong because we've been through them. To be honest, your post was the first I've ever heard where Cancers and Leos were anything but extremely happy with one another. You taught me something new today. :) But even though astrology hits the mark almost every time, one Cancer is an individual even when compared to the next Cancer (and the same for every sign), so circumstances will be different.

I laugh when you I read your response, because I had read that once before that Cancer signs are ruled by the moon..and I certainly have mood swings, although not has much as I had them when I was younger.
To: entrepinoy...you can go to a book store and pickup a book tht litterally describes each sign's personality. You'd be amazed how much the descriptions matches us.

Did you know that our emotions are ruled by the moon. Especially durring the full moon. For seven days from the beginning of the cycle to the end were are at the height of excitement. Our body is like on fire with emotion and want for the opposite of what we are. If we are females we are like in heat during a full moon!!! It is weird. We are calm all month them wham!

Mine is Cancer as well, actually today is my birthday. My husband shares his birthday with you. My oldest child, her birthday is 5 days after his. I like to think I'm a home body, I don't consider myself big bones. I also hate to cook, so I guess I don't fit in with the typical cancer astrology group. So, Happy Early Birthday.

Hi Cookiecrumbles! I used to know all about all the zodiac signs and now I barely know about my own, Leo. I am kinda like mine, but am close to the cusp so might have some of the next one.......which I can't even remember....wanna say it is Libra but not sure it is. Can't imagine keeping track of that many pen friends. I had them from the age of 12 until a few years ago when I had a friend who was jealous of the one I had so I gave him up, but it was due. I am now working to build mine up again. I have 4, but only 2 that write regularly and one is new, so we will see. I also have another email friend who sometimes snail mails me, but I haven't written to her in a long time. I think the most I ever had was 12 at one time and that was enough. But I think that it has changed with all the things that are sent in the mail now. All I want is someone to talk/write to who has some intelligence!! lol I had another for minute, until she discovered that she really couldn't write!! She kind of make jokes about it, but I think it must have been a horrible discovery!! So we email now and then on a penpal site that we are both on. Hope your birthday is a good day for you! I have a large family and will have a dinner that I am planning at a restaurant on the 15th of Aug. Hopefully, everyone will come like most of them did 3 years ago......just a different restaurant this year. You are invited!!
