I have this habit of hiding money at odd places like under a pile of clothes or in the drawer etc; Sometimes I keep money in different handbags too. I feel that it comes in handy and when I discover some long forgotten money in odd places I feel really happy, no matter how small the amount is.. I have a friend who keeps money in her dairy, each day she puts a ten rupee or 20 rupee b note in between the pages and once when she decided to count , she was surprised to see nearly 200 rupees in there... Friends do you all do this ?Hide money at odd places and surprise yourself ..

I usually grab onto all the coins, until i have a chance to look through them all. Some are old; some with special markings; or special dates; etc. Different things, make different coins worth more to other people that are real collectors. I am mostly what you call a cherrypicker. I go through all the pocket change.

I have a dictionary that has a lock box inside. I keep half my savings in there and half my savings in the bank. Its fun to count my own hard earned savings. A friend of mine slip small amount bills into here books so she surprise herself. It sounds fun but I would always wonder where it is.

Hi Kiran, I also have the same habit to keep some money hidden so that it will be a great help for rainy days. It is really a surprise and gives much pleasure when getting some money from the diary or from a bag which was kept without our knowledge. I think ladies have the monopoly of this habit. Earlier I had collected five rupees coin in a box and gifting the same to my mother when visiting her (within one year it will be a handsome amount).

Hi Sreekala, i think most women have this habit of saving for rainy day. my children come and ask me when they need small change knowing fully well that I am able to produce it from some corner. I have a little tin in the kitchen into which I empty out loose change as it becomes heavy in my handbag...This has come in handy so many times.

These days I try to keep my money in one or two places but used to have money all over the place. I would often rummage through clothes which I hadn't warn in a while and found money in the pockets. But my worst, or best one, was that I once put money in several different envelopes, all labelled up for different things I planned to put money by for and then basically forgot that I had done it, in fact one day while tidying up the draw where the envelopes were hidden I just mistook them as empty blank enevelopes and stuck them with all the other blank ones in the stationnary draw. Well you can imagine the pleasant surprise I got when I picked one up to use for sending a letter only to find some money in it.

I tend to hide my money (bills in particular) inside of my picture portrait in my bedroom most of the time. I've remember that i don't have the time to count my money which i was really surprised that i save so much after a quite some time (the last time that i saved is 1,500 pesos). And this time that i'll try to save money up to the last day of classes (pretty scary huh?).

Hi, why scary? I think it is great to save money in any form...I know of one lady whose husband is a drunkard and she has a tough time making ends meet. She asks him money for house expenses which he gives in the most miserly manner, but, she tries to save a little from what he gives and puts in the rice tin, so that he doesn't get hold of it. She is illiterate, not knowing how to handle money transaction. So, she asks me to help her with it. Every month she brings small change and a few rupees and requests me to deposit it in her post office account which I opened for her...
