I had to go to the doctors yesterday. And of course you have to do the same thing every time. You get there and have to wait. But not just in one room. You have to wait in a variety of rooms. First there is the general waiting area. That is where you are where all the other sick people are. They are there with you to compare your reasons for being there and recent illness. And what you think of which doctor. You may not even have to do that. Some of these doctors offices have been done over. Mine has a beautiful set of two flat panel TVs in both waiting rooms. But he also had a half million dollar top to bottom face life. Slate tile floor to mother of pearl like tile on the back splash over the sinks. The single waiting rooms are not very big. And there is nothing to do. You have to find something to do. You can count the cotton balls. Try to figure out what all the medical equipment is for. Read all the medical posters. Or my favorite, read the variety of old and new magazines. If lucky your doctor will have a few brand new magazines in the pile. This morning I got extremely lucky. Jackpot! A men's magazine with cute male models and everything. Full of article's on what to get your man for his birthday or any occasion. And the latest top fashion trend. There you have it a nice pair of jeans. It has everything we are looking for. The wear fades in all the right places. Then you have nice the look that seems as if you have already had the jeans for three months. You know what I mean. The required crease pattern already wore into the pants. Great right. And the best part to these fantastic. Are you ready? The strategically placed paint splashes. This is a nice pair of pants. Not uncommon, thought. I saw a pair of these yesterday. They were laying on my sons bedroom floor. Bunched up in a corner, not washed for about two weeks. He's 33, he can do his own wash. So do you wanna know what the cost of this new pair of old looking jeans is gonna cost you? Not $50, Not $85, not even a huge $125! No friends this pair of pants is gonna cost you $5 dollars less than what I pay less than a month for RENT. $595 for a pair of rag tag pair of jeans I would gladly give you just to get it out of my sons room.

Ack!! Never in my life would I pay $100 for a pair of jeans, let alone over $500!! Maybe your grown son is afraid to wash them?? Definitely, though, he is old enough to learn how to use the washer! Oh yeah, I can identify with what you said about the wait just to see a doctor for a few minutes. I have begun taking with me the latest book I am reading, or a book of crossword puzzles...anything to help pass the time and ward of the boredom of the wait! Karen

Karen you are in luck! They have a beautiful selection of womens jeans also. And for just $350 dollars you can look just as hot as your man in his $595 jeans. You may not be able to eat for three months, but "darling you will good" and one model I heard said "nothing is as important as looking good darling!"

It was that model Emon or Amon. Heck I have no idea how it goes. But I am sure you know who I am refering to. She is a tall exotic beautiful black woman. I believe she is her 40's now. Not sure of her age. I know she was around when Grace Jones was first out.

What an amazing post! You can really write. You started out by getting our interest and then you have a fantastic climax to the story. You must be a writer as a profession. I would not have known that jeans cost so much either! Have you thought of putting your son's jeans on ebay for auction

I think the person who designed the jeans seriously needs to take some of the stuffing out o himself, because who besides millionaires can afford clothes like that. Hell, you could buy a whole wardrobe for that price. Or I could. Yeah,we get hustled into a room to take our weight and blood pressure and maybe sugar..then hustled into another room to await the doctor.. then only get to see him 2 minutes of the 45-60 minutes we had to wait..

And, then while waiting be insulted. By articles that want you to think you need to buy $595 jeans. That look like you just bought them at the Salvation Army! Opps! Wait, The Salvation Army will not sell jeans in that condition. LOL And now your doctor has passed on his opinion. And out the door you go with a bill for 350 dollars or more. If you are lucky less with insurance. Oh and don't forget, you need to run out and get your man those jeans! lol :)

I believe you. I just find it unbelievable that someone would be so willing to pay such an outrageous price for a pair of jeans. That is just ridiculous.

That's funny, cookie, cos I had a doctor's appt. on Monday and Tuesday, and all they have are crappy, boring magazines...not even ones with expensive jeans in them!!! I look at the magazines at the beauty shop (not that I need to go there...I just read the magazines...I'm beautiful already, LOL!) and I love to look at the prices on some stuff. Purses for $2,000, shoes for $2,000 a sweater for $1,000...hey, I'm not Paris Hilton??? I just get a kick out of this stuff, and none of it is worth it...Tell your son to get moving and take care of his clothes...he's not 13 anymore!!! Take care..and have a great day!!

OMG!!! there is no way i will spend $595 just for a pair of jeans... no way... i think i even find it hard to spend $30 for jeans... that is ridiculous... i can buy clothes for my whole wardrobe for that price... i know better way to spend that amount of money rather than for a pair of jeans... especially in a recession time like this... take care and have a nice day...

Hello cookiecrumbles, I am not into branded stuff though sometimes I can afford them. I don't feel like spending for something that I don't feel worth for my money I don't care to 'splurge' on good food but to own something as expensive as the one that becomes your topic right now....uh oh...a big NO By the way, are you going to give it for free? I mean ....your son's pair of jeans? I am GLAD to receive

Oh my goodness! Guess I'm lucky on both counts. I haven't been to the doctor in ages and ages and I've bought brand name jeans at real bargain prices. Never would I pay THAT amount for ANY pair of jeans!

I can remember the first pair of nice jeans I bought for myself. They cost me $36. I thought my grandmother and mother had better never find out or I would never hear the end of it. Now name brands go for amazing amounts. When you think about how much the american dollar is worth it does make alittle sense but not much. It sounds like your doctor has spent afew dollars on his office as well.

I don't go to the doctor that much nowadays, thanks God! But on those few times when i really needed to go whether for my own or just to accompany a family member i always have a book with me. And on those occasions my books helped me pass the time while waiting. And about that $595 jeans, that is already equivalent to 28,560 Phil.Pesos and i won't even spend a thousand pesos for a single piece of clothing let alone a faded, worn-out-like dirty looking jeans! I've seen some like that sold in some boutiques known for their branded products but oh, i'm sorry but i have big extended families from both sides (mine and my husband's) who are less fortunate and that in my heart they are more in need of the money for their basic necessities than myself wearing a jean like that when i can buy one that perfectly suits me comfortably for a price of $12 or lower! Perhaps some will say it's their own money and that's why they work so hard, to be able to buy what they want with their money. Fine, if that's what makes them happy. The manufacturer and their eager buyers make each other happy!

The problem for this is you should not go to the doctor to look at fashion magazine. Those magazine were sent free to the doctors as most of them have deep pockets and doctors have no sense of fashion at all.(i really hope no doctors will be reading this). The prices is just to give you a cardiac arrest so they can just transfer you to the hospital and check you in so they can earn opps sorry i mean make you better. Maybe you can start selling your sons jeans on ebay and stop worrying about the rent and laundry. You take care now love hope you are in good health.
