Unfinished Cross-stitch . . .. .

I have cleaned my closet days ago and was surprised to see that I still have three cross-stiches which remain unfinished. If I remember right, the last time I did cross stitching was in 2000 and I could'n believe that the three cross-stiches have been there waiting for me to finish it for nine long years. OMG. I don't know if there are still available threads which I can buy. I am planning to finish those in due time. Do you also have unfinished cross-stitch?

I try to finish everything I start and also try not to have more then 3 or 4 things going at a time, alas I fail a good amount of the time. We are not alone. We lost a family member a year ago and still U.F.O.s show up around the house. Many have made their way my house where me and my kids are slowly finishing them. Good luck with your projects.

Check online. I did find a duplicate to one of the half done pieces I received online at the makers website. They also had replacement threads for their kits but these did not go back as far as some of our patterns are from the 60's and 70's, but the ones from the 80's up I could find. We also looked at Etsy supplies and Ebay, but they where a little more difficult to find specific items.

I can't cross stitch but do have some paintings I started on a long time ago and recently found them stored under a bed. The paints are all dried up so I may as well trash them. Haven't parted with them just yet..lol I can recall making an afghan that took me 10 yrs. I started it when our kids were teenagers and finished it when our first grandbaby was born. It was a real nice afghan and he loved it. Very warm and cozy and huge.

Don't get too jealous about the painting I do..lol It's paint-by-number but most of my completed projects turned out really good. There is no way anyone could tell. I use oils.

Wow, you're a painter! I admire you for that. Or should I say, I'm envious. LOL. . . Painting is a good hobby. . . . Keep on painting for I'm sure you feel good about doing it. God bless.

Yep I have a couple floating around but they are older than 10yrs *LOL* I usually made a mistake somewhere and got mad because I'd have to rip it out or didn't have enough floss to make the correction.

I do not have any unfinished cross stitching in particular but there are other embroidery stuff. There is this table cloth which really doesnt have much further to go but I just cant seem to get the vibe to complete it. There is also a patch work sheet which as a little way to go and I definately cant seem to find the vibe for that either. I usually love to finish my projects within a certain time frame or else this will always happen to them. I'll never find the time or umph to pick them up and complete them again.

I have alot of unfinished projects from latch hook to crochet to needlepoints and cross stitch. I don't do the needlepoint and cross stitch much because I can't see the holes anymore.

It seems that we are "airing the same music". We have these "excuses" why we haven't finished these cross-stitching things. . .. . I also don't know when I'll finish them . .. I still don't have much vacant time. .LOL

OMG..You sound like me!..LOL.. In 1999 my sister gave this beautiful fairy cross stitch canvas to make and It's still in my closet, unfinished, gathering dust.lol.. I use to do a lot of cross-stiching when I was a teenager. I took this cross-stitching & embroidery class when I was 14 and I made a lot of cross-stitching projects and then years later I got really burned out of cross-stitching and embroidery .I haven't cross- stitched since 1999.

I did at one time. I enjoyed cross stitch for years, but never worked on it consistently. I would be all gung-ho about it for a while and then put it down for a bit and get engrossed in something else. Over the years I don't think I had but one or two small projects finished, and quite a bit more started that went by the wayside. I had hundreds of thread colors in three plastic cased. When I divorced several years ago and was moving, I needed to get rid of a lot of things and also needed money, so I sold it all on eBay. It obviously was worth a good amount since I had accumulated so much, but I wasn't really sure how much it would bring. It wasn't an exorbitant amount, but I was quite surprised that it all sold and for a decent price. I do miss it, but there's no way I would pick it back up again because of the cost to get back to where I was. My eyesight would be an issue too, and I know myself well enough to know I'd probably not do any better in the finishing department than I did before.

Hi Ldyjarhead! Selling those cross-stiching stuff was a good move to get rid of them. At least, it wasn't gone to waste. . ..

You so remind me of my two unfinished cross stitch which I found when I did a general cleaning of my house 2 months ago. I found it in one of the boxes of things that we no longer use. One was half finished, I remember I started it when I was pregnant with my second child (that was in 2002), I don't know what happened but I forgot about it altogether. The other one was about 75% finished, and I knew I really wanted to finish it but I got employed after a long hiatus of being a stay-at-home mom, and because I became so busy with work, I didn't have the time to work on it again. When I found them I took them out and brought them in my room and included them in my to do list for the weekends. They're still waiting for me, I just remembered them when I read your post.

Hi, No I do not have any unfinished cross stitch but, I do have embroidery work which I had left unfinished which I started a few months back. I somehow could not finish it and now have decided to at any cost. Regarding the threads I hope you get the required ones soon to finish your work. You can very well use contrast colors now as trends are changing these days.
