And the day before that I had Strawberry Short-Cake, now I know I shouldn't be eaten all that but I just had a taste for it. So What kind of Dessert have ou made lately?

Sounds yummy to me, specially the strawberry shortcake. I like lots of cool whip on it too. I just got done eating some ice cream, the other day I had a piece of pineapple upside down cake, that was good. I haven't made any special deserts lately. I do have an ice cream maker, my grandson and I like to make ice cream.

Hey Vicky your Grands would love it! I like the Pineaple upside down Cake too, what I did is I had a box of Pineapple upsidedown cake mix, all I needed was Pineapples, so instead I use the boxed cake and baked it and use it for the Cake when I made the Straw-berry Short-Cake. I was looking at a ice-cream amker, last week, I might try to buy one for the Kids. Nice to see you here! How is the Baby? Lizzy! give her a Hug.

I am not a big fan of bananas, and my sister can't even stand them. Occasionally my husband will fry some up in brown sugar, and that's good, but if they get too soft, I don't really like them. I am not sure I'd really like banana pudding. Doesn't sound that appealing to me.

I haven't really made any dessert lately. We have been buying a lot of ice cream. But I am kind of getting hungry for some chocolate pudding. I don't like banana pudding or strawberry shortcake. I'm a big chocolate fan. And now that I think of it, I could go for some brownies too.

I don't think I have ever had banana pudding before. Unless of course it was mixed in with some kind of dessert. I do tend to crave the lighter tasting desserts in the summer time though. Yesterday I made a nice light white cake with white frosting. It was really good. Maybe next week we'll have some strawberry shortcake.

Darn you! Now I'm sitting here thinking about banana pudding...lol. Guess what I'll be making today. Banana pudding! It's been so hot here, that I've been craving frozen desserts. Manybe I'll freeze the banana pudding, that'll take care of both cravings. I've been making a lot of frozen pudding desserts lately. My last one (and family favorite) is a deep-dish one. I buy deep dish crusts that you bake ahead. Then I mix up a large chocolate pudding, following the recipe for pie filing. I divide that in half. For the first half I mix in a good heaping tablespoon+ of peanut butter, then spread that to be the bottom layer in the pie shell. The second half I mix with an 8 oz. container of whipped topping, so that it's light and fluffy. I spread that on top of the bottom layer. I top the pie with crushed/chopped peanut butter cups. Freeze for about 3 hours. If I'm really in a chocolate mood, I squeeze some fudge ice cream topping in between the layers of pudding. It comes out great both ways, and as big as the pie is for 4 of us, there usually isn't any leftovers.

With ice cream being $4 to $6 per half gallon, I've been making a lot of frozen desserts with pudding. I'm actually liking it better, since it melts slower. Plus there are so many interesting pudding flavors now. I remember when it was basically chocolate, vanilla and butterscoth. Another favorite is pistachio pudding with marshmallows and small cubes of sponge (or pound) cake, and chopped pistachios. Or a rocky road one with marshmallows and chopped nuts (I like pecans). Hope you like them if you try it!
