Depends on how you define God. If you are talking of an entity that creates things. There is absolutely 0% probability considering that the God we people refer to is infinite. It's impossible to gather an evidence to prove His existence, unless you are wise enough to understand the entire universe and connect all the dots. I still believe in God though, but not as an entity, but rather as a living energy. The same concept when I am saying that people is alive, and people thinks.. all these can also be attributed to an energy that is also capable of thinking. If you look into medicine, physics, and quantum physics in an in-depth look, you would be surprise to find out that the universe is actually well-organized. It's working as if it has a mind of its own, and is capable of organizing itself even when there is no one governing it. The same with the human body. You don't actually control most of yourself.. there are involuntary forces that are working inside you. All these can be attributed to this unknown energy that is known to cause such influence.

It's true that there is order in the universe (and the earth more specifically) but it is also true that order can arise from disorder without deliberate thought.

It may sound counter-intuitive that order and patterns can arise from disorder, but it has been studied and documented. The government example doesn't really work because people preceded government, not vice versa. I just see the laws as ways for us to understand and quantify things, not as any sort of thing with a mind.

No, it is impossible for order to arise from disorder. It's like running a country without a government. If people cannot organize themselves without following a set of organized logic, how much more is the universe? In physics, every physical forces have a governing law in them. All of them are organized. All can be attributed to unseen forces or energies that influence every physical material existing in this universe. Now, with regards to this energy, I believe, it has a mind of its own, cannot be influenced, and neither be created nor destroyed. The same way we are talking about God Who neither has a beginning nor an end.

may be i cant.i think that believing in god is a personal thing. in the past, there are about 2 main reasons why people believe in god.the first is ignorance, the second is self-conforting.just like in china ,some people will say"hope the god(or buddha or immortal) bless me"or "hope the god and buddha and jade emperor....bless me"but actually they dont believe them.just like somebody who dont believe in god and dont believe that any immortals are existing still have the mantra "oh my god" when he is surprising. actually i think that the people believing in a immortal in the 21 th century have two main situation.the first is searching for self-conforting,self-confidence etc.the second is the tradition.like me ,i am a hui family.hui is a family which appear in about 13th century(may be the amount is not exact).that time(the western expedition of mongolia)the khan take back some musilim.the musilim and some han men and some mongolian and some uygur men etc build up the hui.and the hui believe in islam every age.but may be several age before ,my ancestor dont believe in islam any more.now,my father and i only have the religious discipline of not eating pig. i dont know i will do that or not. so i think that there is no complet and exact reason to believe in god or baddha ....its your thing.i only know that the god and baddha etc are possibly existing.(everything is possible.the key is the possibility).for me ,i dont believe in any immortal and i only hate the crazy believers.as for others ,its not my thing.

interesting topic... It seems, for total psychological well-being, it is good to have something good to hope for after we die. Perhaps otherwise, many more people would have all kinds of mind-related diseases specially at old age e.g. depression, paranoia etc. Also personally, I believe in God. Praying for instance has proven psychological and physiological benefits such as relaxation and freedom from hypertension. Just a thought. Cheers.

Perhaps it's much about events that has shaped how each of us feel. For some people, the "agent for personal balance" is faith. Perhaps for others, personal balance may come naturally even without faith. Cheers

Ah yes- and faith is just what I am lacking. I like everything to be explained, and with evidence. But for me there is nothing lacking in my life to not have it.

I think you are probably right that it brings a sense of well-being to many people. But I consider there to be a difference between reasons that belief is appealing versus what could actually convince me. If that makes any sense... it's kind of hard to word that.

No, I can't. There is a God, and I know this. However, religion, even if it's not organized is belief in God. So, if you do not believe in God, you could argue against it, even if God was standing right in front of your face. So, if you're open to believe, all of my reasons are compelling. If you're not, you will find a reason to argue against any proof.

Interesting. I see it like life just happens to have happened, but that is beautiful. That all of this came out of almost nothing is so amazing to me.

A reason not to? Because there is simply no evidence to the contrary. This reminds me of a Hitchens quote that goes something like "That which is asserted without evidence may be refuted without evidence." I like how that's put.

Yes I know Hitchens, God also created him but he is not aware of this, when I look at his eyes I can see the hatred there and I feel sorry for him. He says God is not great, but God is Love and love is the greatest thing, love will save the planet.. Have a lovely day :-)

First of all, you don't have to. You know, the beliefs are private things. I am talking about things like God, not about believing your boyfriend that yesterday he was were he pretended he was. You are the one choosing to believe in something or not. You either feel it, and consequently believe, either not so why worry and waste precious moments of your life. A belief doesn't need proves. You know in your heart it's true and you don't need anything else. So... if you are looking for reasons, stop. You will never understand God if you are looking at him with your human eyes. You are just wasting your time, only your soul can know God.

I dunno, for me personally it is very hard to believe anything if I don't have evidence or proof for it.

Nahh I really prefer to see hard proof and just reason things out logically. It's important to me. I don't believe in the soul either.

That's not bad at all. Just think out of the box. You will not have any proof looking in the objective reality. So it might be another place to search. Try in yourself. The real you ( used to be called by some as soul ) is tangible.

I cannot give you compelling reasons to believe in God because surely you will always find a reason to argue. Simply, that is how our mind works. That is why, men is the highest form of all the living creations. You may argue on every thing you want to argue about. The mind can even dictate what you want to feel, more so to what you want to believe in. Just dropped by...

Hello maean_19, I think you right for your opinion about this guy. He is always looking for reason for not to believe in God. It seems that he have no logic in his mind...I ask for him an evidence if there is other creature than God...Always asking...lol

hello, aerous,i feel that you havent understand me untill now. first, what i said is,belief is personal thing. second,i never look for reason not to believe in god.what i am doing is to find reason and proof to believe in god. third, the reason why i discuss with you is that i cant accept your speaking that "we should believe in god".I said its a personal thing ,so nobody can say "should" ,because saying "should" in the discussing about belief is imposing your belief to others. fifth,i ask you first ,so you have to answer me first. sixth,i have never said that there is other people who create the world.all the religions who claimed that he create the world or he is the only one dont have convincing evidence,so this is the reason why i look for the proof. seventh, why you are always thinking that there must be sb who create the world? why the universe cant be taken shape naturally?i

Cant! Because the bottom line is this you already believe there is not one and nothing anyone say's will change your mind. To Learn you must have an open mind. The truth is there you have to be the one to find it no one can just hand it to you. The bible is the book to go to. GoodLuck and God Bless.

That's true, nothing that can be said at present would convince me. But if suddenly there were to be overwhelming evidence discovered in favor of a god, then I would be convinced. I don't take the word of the bible because there is nothing about that would indicate it is true besides that it itself says so. I could write a book today and say in it that it is the word of god. Saying so doesn't make it true.

There is overwhelming evidence, its just always played down by the so called "scientest" community, so they can push their Evolutionist ideas, heres example #2 Evolution is not a fact its a theory SO YOU HAVE TO BELIEVE IT, that makes EVOLUTION A RELIGION.

There could be compelling reasons as to why to believe in a god but every reason could be argued against. Why I think people should have a religion whether a god really exists or not is to have meaning in life. A friend of mine became a Christian in college and became much more confident and comfortable with herself because she now have a god to take care of her and knows she has a path to take.

I think religion is too destructive to be worth a little warm fuzzy feeling for people, to be honest. If religion can give you this, other things in life could, too.

No one can make a reason to believe the god. But however, these people believe they were here because of god. If good thing happens, it is gods help. I just dont get it. How ever, people who believe in god is always looking into the future.

We should believe in God. Because he is the creature of this world and ended it with fervent heat of fire...If you don't believe God, really exist. Just look up the skies, the stars, and all that lives in this earth. Those are God, hand made. Who made the stars, who made sun and the moon above? If you know made those creations...give me it's name? You must believe in God, my friend. Because he creates you from the womb of your mother and give you breath...

It is not needed to refer in dictionary my friend. Because as we see in our eyes is the existence of God. I ask you then if you know who is human made the earth? But you always ask me about convincing that God, is really exist. God is not against human and in no way conflicting with human...I think you refer in your dictionary because you cannot understand what human is all about? I'm not guessing and my proof is better than your dictionary and or any scientist you believing...Human is define as a person. So there is no vague in what I say, my friend. Give me a proof that you created by your boss scientist? Your not a human and that is why you can't see the sky, the sea, and all the solar systems? Believe it or not? No scientist can create earth that people live within?

i always think the belief is a personal thing ,so there will not be a immortal that "we" ,everybody "should" believe in.as for "the god create the world and everything and will end the world " really make me want to laugh.why dont you say its other immortals did these?where is your convoncing evidence about the god-made world? when i saw your statement ,i once thought you were joking.because objectively speaking ,the scientific knowledge has a lot of flaws ,but its also far more convincing than god-creationism.

first ,what i ask is ,what is your convicing evidence that the god create the world?until now ,i havent seen any convincing evidence that the god create the world. so ,i think that "the god create the world "'s possibility is very little.the scientific research is far more convincing. the key is not who believe sth.the key is the convincing evidence and the possibility.please answer my question instead of consfusing your doctrine or asking me without answering. second, the definition of "human" is not believing in god.i think you 'd better look at the dictionary instead of guessing yourself.

Primary objective of GOD is love and care... We dont need cast and religion to show towards love others... All we have to do is to true heart... Once we start showing Love and Care to the needy then we will become a GOD to the one whom we have showed love... If god was so real then why he existed only in the histories and not in the present... always believe in yourself...

I disagree, dods33. I don't believe in god and I follow laws and I don't just go about quarelling with other nonbelievers all day. Just because religions talk about morality, and offer a code of ethics doesn't mean that morals or ethics *come from* religion.

If you believe Evolutionist ideas i feel really sorry for you, i'll give you a quick example of how anybody can know that God exists. For example you are wearing a watch, you know that it was made by a watchmaker, you've never meet the watchmaker but you know he exists because of what he created. The same goes with this world, its totally stupid to believe that somehow some crap exploded in space and created a perfect near flawless world, Just think about. May God Bless you.
