This is one reason I like to do things the old fashion (manual) way, I have been trying to access one of my online bank accounts for 2-3 days and I have been getting this message.
Capital City Bank OnLine is currently unavailable. We are working to resolve these issues as quickly as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience.
I once tried getting some money out the ATM and they said they were temporarily down, so I went inside the bank and they said their whole system was down. Now how about that, my money in the bank and I can't get it until the system comes back up.
Have you have this happen to you lately?

I haven't done any banking lately. Do you think maybe this is connected somehow with those major national security sites being hacked into and brought down? North Korea is supposedly responsible for this. I'm thinking they want us to declare war or something.
Have they given you any reason why they've been down for so long? Normally, it's only a few hours at the most that the system is down.
I HOPE it's been fixed by this time! The vulnerability of banks does scare me. I mean, they're pretty darned secure, but someone (North Korea probably) hacked into the National Security Agency, Homeland Security and the Department of Defense systems last week!

I've never had it happen that I couldn't get money out. I have went to their site a few times and found that they were down for maintence but I can always call them and find out what I need to know. It would probably tick me off to not be able to get money out when I wanted it.

That is the worse thing that can happen to any banking system. What happen if a person is in dire need of cash? There is no way that he can withdraw money if the whole computerized system is down. I opened a bank account sometimes ago but was not given any passbook and could only access my account through ATM. I didn't realize the disadvantage of relying solely on online bank accounts.

Chevee,
I have never experienced such inconvenience as you have so far. In my country, our banks ATM are interlinked and we can always draw cash from other banks ATM without a hitch, even if our local bank's ATM is out of service.
And as far as online banking is concerned, I never have such experience without being pre-notified by my bank. Issues of inaccessibility is rare as these will only happen when the bank's system is undergoing maintenance or upgrading.
I just find it odd in your case and your bank's customer service integrity questionable. How could you be so inconvenienced and ill informed? If I were you right now, I would really be considering moving my accounts to another bank.
I hope all will be fine by this time, if not, I'd be seriously asking you to look around. Have a nice day.

P.S.
You can always draw cash with your credit card from any banks and if I am going to inconvenienced further, I am definitely charging back the interest here.
Take care.

Wow! That is terrible. I have had that happened when the system needs to reboot, but it only takes a few minutes to reboot. Did the bank tell you how long it would take to get their system up and running??? You would think for security purposes they wouldn't want their system down for too long.
