laptop is not just convenient, it is also a way to live. Laptop brings you to a whole new level and don't require you to bring a cord with you all the time and it is just not that big

I agree with you about laptops. I used to have a desktop, but when it broke down I decided to buy a laptop instead of a new desktop, and I definately don't regret that decision. I love the freedom that my laptop gives me. It is so nice that I can use it everywhere, I can carry it around inside the house and I can bring it when I leave the house. I feel much more independent that way. There is only one thing that I miss about my old desktop, and that is the computer games. My desktop was better when I wanted to play computer games, but aside from that my laptop is great.

I do have my 1 year old laptop. It's still performing at par with my mates. I do like it portability. The disadvantage is that your are limited to upgrading the RAM and Hard Drive.

it is true that laptops bring many advantages compared to desktops. like you cited, we could also include in the advantages is the mobility factor. you can bring it anywhere. this revolutionizes some work especially for writers who need to scribble something or document what they feel at the inspiring moment. however, laptops gives up the power of the chips. many laptops have limited features because they can't accommodate the programs needed for some operations such as editing and moviemaking. but i love the laptops because of mobility it gives me.

I enjoy my laptop, but it hasn't been considered "decent" in about 5 years. I would like to have a high quality laptop so I could bring it with me to class and play games / surf / whatever, but either way they're a bit too expensive and limited for my taste.
