I Need A Miracle!!!

Three of my best friends and I (they're American, I'm Canadian) all meet on the internet, and spend hours chatting. The three of them sent my husband and I flowers on our wedding day. Now one of those friends is having a birthday, and the other two can make it to the party, but it looks like I might be stuck up here in Canada. I live in Guelph Ontario, and the party is in Ohio. :( And we all really really want to get together!!! I can come up with the money for a ticket to MI, but I'm not sure how I'll get from MI to Ohio... Ummmm... I've sent the friend who lives close enough to Detroit, an e-mail seeing if she has any ideas. I've been through Ohio so I know how far it is from here (not bad at all), but time, and money. AAAARRRGGGHHH!!!! But I'm hoping.
Anyone else on here ever been in a situation like this where all your best friends can make it somewhere, but you can't get there because you live further away than they do?

Money, the root of all evil! I do have a question, if you end up making it to Brenda's party, do I still get to eat your piece of cake??????? :) Keep throwing those coins in the fountain & buying lottery tickets!

MyLot, meat another group of our gang. There are four of us. Idowrite is the reason for the drip. Danishcanadian (me) wants to get out of Canada to get there, and now Windymyre, our Michigan collection has joined MyLot too. YAY!!!! A big hello to one of my best friends.
As for that piece of cake, I'm sure Idowrite's daughters are nice people who believe in big cases, and there will be big pieces for all. :) I'm off to throw another 2 bucks in the fountain.

Hope someone knows more than we do, since I am the friend having the party AND living in Ohio and I've told her I will pick her up in Detroit, if it comes to that, although with the recent fire on 75, I'm not sure how I'll get THERE now!! It is only an hour's drive for me to there and I would do it in a heartbeat to get the 4 of us together for MY birthday. I already told her I would probably pee my pants if all 4 of us got together and on MY birthday, and one of the others said she would bring the depends for me since she wouldn't let her girlfriend be seen in "peepants"!! I am so happy for the 3 of us to be together, but adding the 4th would be like going to another world and my family would be ignored!!!!

If you are about to be near Chicago, I can help you, but Ohio is too far for me to drive. I am sure we can find someone to take you from Detroit MI to Ohio...

Thank you!! I've met Melanie before when she and her Hubby came to AZ to meet his mother (Hubby and I got together with her and her hubby) but Brenda (whose having the birthday) and Robyn I've not yet met, but we chat so much I feel like they're my sisters. On line friendships are funny that way. If I can come up with the money and figure out the timing, it shouldn't be much of a problem, but I'm not going to count my chickens until they're hatched.

Sorry for that..I've heard many of mylotters here want to meet their friend in mylot.It's a great idea and building a different country friends relationship Like your situation you and your American friend is so far and buy a return ticket is ture need some money.Hope some miracle will happen to you.Good luck~ Hope you can see your friend .

I also experience that. Lack of money I think is the problem. If you have enough money then it is not possible to go anywhere you wanted to go. You should find money no suite your needs. I've been stuck to that same situation and I feel anger to myself because I really wanted to come and see them but the problem is the place and it too far from my place. And another thing is I dont have money to go out. Goodluck to you. I hope you find ways to see them. God Bless.

Well things are tight, set up some web cams, buy some cake and beverages, send a gift or card and party with them but remotely.

A few times yes. Specially because some of my friends are still back home - a whole ocean in the middle of us -.
Sometimes a solution is found. Sometimes I have to just wish I was there.
I'm sorry that you are in that situation, specially because I've been there.

Where are you going in Ohio? I live in Toledo which is about 40 minutes from Detroit. If I can drive to my party or other event I attend but, if it would require me getting on a plane, I normally don't go.

Since you stay far away from ur best friend who is going to have a birthday, You actually can simply send her a present,purchase it online.Now is pretty easy to get a present online...just choose wat you like and make a payment using credit card.Same time, You can give her a phonecall on her birthday...give her a surpise phonecall. That will be enough,I guess.

Yup, trying to figure out how to get my family out to Chicago this fall when one of my best friends (Godmother of one of mine) has her baby. Our other is in C.O. and trying to do the same but it is hard considering out of 4 of us two are out of work and two have had hours cut at work. Miracles would be nice for us I just hope it's a good job.

sure enough if you cant make it your friends will understand on the contrary why dont you send your signature to the party say a bouquete or order a cake to be deliverd through online request....
send a note along some thing you usually say to your friends
if that aint a good idea...discuss your problem with your friends i am sure they will arrange for a transport...
