Would you rather be Beautiful or Smart?

Beauty and smart are rarely seen together,I know few people who are really beautiful but not smart and I also know people who are smart but lacks beauty...
Being beautiful gives alot of advantage in a persons life,especially now that most peoplpe judge people by their looks.People gives you alot of flattering comments and with no doubt alotof people adores you even if you don't know the person you will have the ability to attract their attention.Sometimes being beautiful even gives a person a good job position.
On the other hand being smart also has alot of advantage.People get to respect you and adore your wide knowledge about everything.Though sometimes being smart gives you alot of responsibilities like for example if you have a group work automatically you've been selected as the leader because you're the smart one,I hate it when things like that happens because ofcourse you know that all the work will be done by you because your groupmates will think that your smart and yoou can do it on your own in a snap.Being smart can also give you power,the power to rule and lead.
Both have it's own advantages and disadvantages,so if you were to choose between the two which will you choose?

Well that's a good question. It is hard to choose, it depends on each of them ( the beauty and the smart) how they would use their acquired natural (born) gift. But the best if you have it both on your lady.....

Let me start this discussion off by saying, I am not hideous to look at.
. I have done my share of modeling in college and I am an engineer by profession. That being said, I want to give you my opinion on the question at hand.
In college,I loved to study and I was competitive when it came to studies.I was also into a few sports. I have met a number of people who are amazing to look at and not that smart. To me they are the most boring sort, coz when I got talking to them, I would get bored in no time.
I have had the weird pick up lines used at me. Its flattering in one way, but at the same time I also hate it! This is because the person does not realize that I am smart. Sometimes I feel like saying, "You knuckle-head, I am smarter than you, so don't try that on me"
So honestly, if given an option where I get to choose only one of those 2 qualities, it would definitely be being smart. I would want my smartness to get me through life, not my looks!

Great opinion you got there..:)and honestly speaking a person can be beautiful just by being smart..for me beauty is really worthless if a person doesn't have any knowledge at all..I'm not saying that a person should be really smart but should also have a knowledge on the things around him/her..

Absolutely! I am glad you agree. And being smart does not mean being bookish and I also dislike people who have huge egos.
Smartness for me is, people who can handle situations and have knowledge about varied things. People with whom I can converse on varied subjects.Like I said, it does not need to be bookish.
I think, smartness/intelligence without physical beauty is ok.But beauty without intelligence is not that great a blessing.
For all the beautiful people out there, no offese!

I am not beautiful nor real smart but I am a caring and giving person I care about people I work with developmental disabilitie people working direct care I have some college I went for two years in human services and have a aa degree although i could have went futher I found working direct care with this population is something I did not want to give up people look at them and think of them as dumb people but they are not they have a disabilitie and they have rights to be treated fairly and with respect. I also care for the elderly I always put my self in their shoes when caring for them which ables me to give them the best care possiable I think if I were in there shoes how would I want to be care for. so people do not need to be beautiful or smart to have respect from others I have people who think the world of me cause of the care I provide for people.

In my eyes you are a very beautiful person..Inner beauty is far more beautiful than outer beauty..So go around saying you are beautiful, because you are a beautiful,caring person..May God's Blessing's shine down on you always..

ii rather beautiful .. because you only got one life so live it up and ull live it with others wanting u ...if ur smart but ugly u basically live ur life for urself noone will really want u ...idk just my opioin

Wow!!I salute you everybody here have chosen intelligence...but for some reason I partly agree with you because as we all know everybody judge everybody by their looks..many denies it and says no beauty is not important but in reality that's just how everything goes..everybody is just in denial..good opinion there!!live life to the fullest..:)

I think everyone should have a little of both, though beauty is not what matters. People work for beauty, but it wont get them far in live. Intelligence is key to success. Sad to see people finding that out the hard way. Do not focus too much on looks. I am sure you look great just the way you are.

Well yeah, but beauty does not get you far in life. What you know does. You may get more guys then other girls, but the others will be getting their own homes and cars and really great jobs. They will get guys too, ones who are not with them because they look good.

why not both? if i could have both, it would be nice.. But i have to choose between being beautiful or smart, i would choose being smart. Intelligence would not fade, but beauty fades as a person ages.. I could use smartness to be successful, rich, and happy.

I would rather be smart but I believe that both of the two can go hand in hand easily. It takes an intelligent person to realize what beauty truly is and to find beauty in everyone. That's where inner beauty comes from not how beautiful you yourself are but how well you can recognize the beauty in others. Intelligence is more important to me though because the mind is so powerful and can create many different things that are beautiful and masterpieces.

I would like to be in the middle not ugly, and not too smart. Fairness is better to have pretty face and a good outlook in life, and not too dumb. Or better to combine those qualities into one. Being smart does not necessarily being beautiful. their are person who have no pretty face, but smart, wise and witty. They have good personality and know to handle people of any status. I could live with a person not so pretty but have good attitudes and not dumb. Rather than live with a pretty face but acts like an animals, with no breeding. Society really misjudged people by their look but if we come closer to them, then realize they have their own exceptional qualities like no other.

A persons personality is one way to see the persons real beauty.You're right about most people who have good looks who doesn't act decently,most of them showing out their beauty by attending parties,getting drunk and flirting.That's no way for a true beautiful person to act.

I choose the smart one, because to become beautiful you need to become smart. Being beautiful is depend on how people see you in and out. It is a matter on how you see things in a positive way. Smart people should know how to appreciate and understand everything.

Well that's the problem with most of the smart people I know,some of them only appreciate and understand the things that have proof..it's hard to get a smart persons trust and understanding..in a way most of them only listen to their ideas..they won't stop until they proove that they are the ones right..

Can i have both ?...joke,ok i would chose to be smart.
There is always advantage and disadvantage in everything.But i would rather consider the best of it,like being smart,yes it is really hard to be smart in school.You will always become a leader in your group,the burden will always be given to you,you think it's a burden,and how about the compliments?
Beauty also gathered a lot of compliments and admiration,but it passes with time,and faded with years.But smartness will never fade,yet keeps growing as time passes by.

I'd rather be smart than beautiful...there are already a lot of ways to become beautiful like surgery and besides you cannot buy intelligence. You're not like a computer that can be uploaded with so many infos.
So i'd rather be smart.It's also one of the things that money can't buy,.

I'd choose being smart..i dont care if my face is not that good to look at as long as i have the wit and intelligence, then i can live with it forever..beauty, fades once you become old, it will wrinkle then, unlike being smart, it might not be as sharp as before but still, it is still there..

Being beautiful has its advantages .Every likes to look at someone beautiful and friends and relatives admire them .Girls have the prospective of a husband who is rich and handsome because generally boys like their partners to look beautiful.At the same time smart looking girls also stand the chance of attracting everyone .But I would prefer smartness to beauty because beauty is short lived while smartness can stand the test of time .Moreover being pretty and not at all smart,a girl can never reach a goal or be successful in life or elsewhere.So any day I would prefer smartness to beauty.

Not to tooot my own horn or anything, but I believe and have been told I posses both qualities. Both beauty and brains. Which I enjoy. I would rather be smart of the two t hough I believe. It is easier to get a job when you have the brains. and you can always buy beauty :) that is what surgery is for. You cant fix stupid. :)

I prefer..smart and beauty..which means..first smart then beauty..
cause smarter is more important to me than beauty..
The beauty more easy to find at the beauty house, but smart...not that easy..
You know smart is more powerful than beauty..
But if you have both...wooooow..it is very excelent

Think of it like this .
We are basically skin right now but
we are just souls without skin .
When we are just simply souls with no face
Where does attractiveness come about ?
Only in the personality .
