My first job was as a Production Worker at an export company in our country. I was 16 years old then. Our company was owned by a Japanese businessman. We were exporting rubber parts of cameras, binoculars, swimming caps and many others. I was very young then and was very thrilled of what life has to offer for me. I just graduated from highschool. My workmates were alot older than me and most of them were already professionals. But I was honored that I was hired and was given equal tasks just like the rest. After 15 days at work, I got my first salary! I was profoundly proud and happy of my earnings. I was working in the city while my family was in the province. That time I sent them half of my first pay! And believe it or not, it took me a month before I spent the other half of my first salary. After 6 months, I was promoted to as a Quality Controller and stayed with the company for 3 years. Then after, I resigned to get a college degree. Working at an early age taught me a lot of values in this world of complexities and struggles. My experiences shaped me into a better person with great value and dedication for work. Happy mylotting to all!

I wish someone will just offer me a job but things are hard now when it comes getting a job and people seem to be getting fired then getting a job. Well yeah I agree with you. I think maturity comes from life experiences and your decisions that you make. Also the mistakes and the non-mistakes people make. I think makes people mature. =]

Thanks. Well, it was my decision to get a job at an early age. I had the opportunity right infront of me so I grabbed it.There are alot of people who are unemployed in our society and do their very best just to get a job and sadly, only a few are lucky to get one. I did not look for a job. It was offered to me and I saw it as an opportunity so I grabbed it immediately. Although I was still very young, I was pretty sure I was matured enough to begin a new life. We all have different levels of maturity. Age is not the definite criterion to measure maturity. Our society, culture, values, families, education etc contribute to our level of maturity, in the holistic sense. Thank you and happy mylotting.

my first job after college was with a school. i could consider that i was involved in a family business because my mother and her siblings own the majority stock and manage the school. i started out as an office assistant under the registrar. then in a few months they created a position for me as the internal auditor. a few months later they promoted me as the property custodian which used to be my father's job. i did some teaching stint too while i was working as the property custodian.

i'm a fast learner? maybe. but it mostly has to do with the fact that our family owns the majority stock of the school. all my bosses and those in position were are related to me. i guess i was just lucky! :-)

My first job was telemarketing for alumni donations for my college. I really enjoyed this as it was fun to talk to the alumni and even nicer when they gave a large donation and I got a bonus. I only worked there for one year because after that I was too busy in my studies to keep up with the job, but had it not been for having more classroom requirements I would have continued with that job until I graduated from college.

A few months before I turned 18 I accepted a job offer to work as a waitress at a Mexican restaurant. The restaurant was a small family run business with the owners working every night one as a chef and the other as the manager. I was very nervous on my first day of work as Im quite a shy person and approaching customers and remembering their orders and all the codes for the food items worried me. However like all things once you practice and have experience it becomes quite easy. I just resigned from my job yesterday as I have learnt all I can and taken all the skills I could from that paticular job (I worked there over 2 years) and am focusing on my university studies, French classes and acting classes. I hope to find a bit of work writing online as I am a media and journalist student as well as an anthropologist. I couldn't say I exactly enjoyed working but I did enjoy the family atmosphere and my coworkers were all lovely along with my bosses. They always made work a friendly environment. One of the best ways to find a part time job especially during the economic depression is through contacts and people you know. Let everyone know that you are looking for a job and someone you know may be able to connect you with the right people. I personally found my job through a schoolmate who already worked at the restaurant.

Hi...My first job that I am still working is as a Customer Service Executive. This is a job that I dont like doing it at all. I am a patient person but dealing with customers sometimes I became impatoent without me realizing. I am working in a banking industry and where money is concern, the customers are just too much demanding and at times they just cant take it when we explain the policies and procedure that we cants overlook. I did not major in this field. I am a science honours graduate but ended up here as I could not find a job related to my field of study. But i am very afraid that I would end up here servicing customers. I would say I really do not like my job and Looking forward for a better prospect. Waiting for the doors to open with lots of hope and faith on god. Pray for me too. Thanusha

Well at least thats what I heard but yeah I think you should do what you think is best for you. You went to college to get a job that you will love doing not get out of college then end up working in a place you dislike or don't like that much or even is at much of you interest I think you should do whats right for you. =] Hope everything goes well in the future near future I mean haha.. =] take care

My first job was a production worker in an exporting company owned by a Japanese. It was very challenging because I was just turning 18 that time. I have to adjust with my co-workers and also with the rules and regulations of the company. A little bit scared to broke some rules but I was trying my best tobe a good worker. My job was a sewer. I like my job because I got new friends and receive enough compensation. I am not working there anymore. I challenge you payout not to be scared if sooner you can land a job, It is very rewarding if you can earn money by your own sweat and labor. Happy job hunting !

hello payout, My first job was to support the production line in a multi-million company. I do the reapir of the different machines and testers that I'm qualified. Even sent abroad to have hands on training in it. I did this for my first five years. No, I was not scared at all since my friends in college were also working here. We helped one another if we don't know what to do. I'm already 25 years working in the same company but now I'm already a Product Engineer. Same thing, was sent abroad for so many times learnung more about the product that I'm in charge to. It's a never ending learning process that I can say I'm good in it. I love the company I'm working since I graduated from college. So lucky that I'm a part of it. Hope the company will stay forver. They are helping a lot to have a better life.

I got my first job right after college graduation, I was 21. It's weird because I finished a degree in Psychology but I was hired as an accounting staff. Okay, let me explain: my first 2 yrs in college was Accounting, but I shifted course on my third year because I didn't like Math. So it was ironic that my first job had something to do with Math. The employer badly needed an accounting staff and since he saw in my transcript of records some units in accounting, he took me in. It was tough at first, but I came to enjoy the job eventually. I stayed for 2 years, until I finally decided I should pursue a career in clinical or industrial psychology, or anything related to the course I've finished. Now I'm working in human resources dept. of a private company.

I have never held an official job per say, maybe I have done small tasks for monetary earnings, but never a proper job with fixed times and a dedicated salary :P I plan to make my first set of serious earnings from the internet - quite an unorthodox technique, but it will be a very good experience for me I believe and sounds like quite the conversation starter. Not to mention it makes you look like a more diversified and ambitious individual overall. I am currently trying to clear $ 1,000 in profit using Neobux - you can follow the progress of my quest which should be in full swing from about the 22nd of July, at my blog: http://gazagullyconnection.blogspot.com

My first job was at a car insurance agency for people coming from Mexico. I was 17 and my UIL coach was the one who got me the job. When I first started working I had my anxiety since I'm not very good at dealing with people. But as time passed I became more adjusted to the situation and found that I didn't dislike work as much as I first thought I did. Due to lack of hours that were given to me, I had to quit my job.
