Do you prefer headphones or speakers?

I myself prefer speakers when I need to know what's going on around me, which is like all the time. Headphones block out too much sound if I'm being a paranoid nerd. Headphones also have great sound because they block out so much sound. Speakers on the other hand can get bigger and bigger and sound better and better. And they allow more than just you to hear the music, which is never good if your neighbor doesn't like your choice in genre. What is your preference?

I will prefer headphones as the sound is clear to listen to the ears.also the bass feature in the headphone helps us to listen to music in surround sound quality. If i have a farmhouse. Then i will buy a big sub woofer speaker so that i can enjoy the music.I would love to rock to the drum beats of very fast music.Hope the birds and animals in the area were not disturbed.

Well I use headphones only when I'm at work so I can have something to listen to instead of hearing just silence. But if I'm at home I prefer speakerphones.

I perfer speakers. I think that continued use of headphones can cause hearing problems.

Personally I like both. When I just want to listen to music and I'm all alone, then I use speakers, and blast them as loud as possible. Makes your body wanna mooooooooooveee. When others are around or when I just to be discreet or when I'm outside jogging, I like to take headphones.

I seldom use headphones at home, I just used it when traveling... I prefer speakers so that everybody at home could hear my music.

speakers, theres really no other way. a serious 5.1 stereo system really rocks. i find that you have to spend $100 just for a decent pair of headphone. i certainly doing like my ears being cooked, so speakers are the best way to go for me.

Speakers for sure:) Headphones are good if I am listening to something I have recorded looking for mistakes, etc... but I don't like the feeling of one of my senses being cut off from what is around me. It just makes me uncomfortable. I also like the sound of speakers, if they are good ones :)

I appreciate them both. It depends on the situation, where I am. I like the sound of speakers better. I don't know why, but it just seems to sound better when it's blastin' out of speakers. When I'm at home, or in a vehicle, I definitely prefer speakers, but when I'm on the bus, at work, walking somewhere, in a store, etc. I like headphones because those are times and places where you don't want, maybe can't have everyone else hearing your music too.

When I am listening to music on a laptop I prefer headphones. If it is a desktop I will buy good speakers so that I can listen through the PC itself. it is better that way. The ones I have now actually have a subwoofer with them so its awesome.

Depends on the surroundings. My enjoyment should not be a cause for botheration for people around me. meapas.

I like both and use it according to my convenience. When I am alone I prefer headphone but when we are together, a speaker. I don't use headphone a lot. I use it when sound didn't come clearly and I couldn't understand. At that condition I use headphone. Have a nice day!!

definately like speakers for the same reason so i can hear whats going on, but a really great pair of headphones that make the music pop are a must when on the go. but i must admit people have walked up on me and i didnt even know it due to them being noise canceling so that is a draw back.

I have to have headphones, the last two times that I wanted to listen to my music, it disturbed my family so, where I end up using headphones anyways. I do not worry so much about the neighbors, they make me listen to their music once in a while.

I prefer headphones. They are not so good on the ears, but they keep the noise to yourself and do not disturb others. It all depends on the situatiion really. If Iam at home Ill use my headphones, but usually after a little while I turn the speakers on. Iam out I do not have a choice, I have to use headphones. Both have their advantages and disadvantages.

I really prefer speakers when I'm listening to music, however I rather use a headset when I'm having a conversation with another individual online. Well, really if its a personal conversation then a headset is my preference.

Definetly speakers, I love listening to loud music and if its in my ears I don't feel as free as when its playing from speakers loud in the air.
