I have the habit of analyzing myself, so if I were a poet, I would write poems about my goals as a person and how i achieved them. What about you?

I do write poetry and I usually write poetry that has to do with my life experiences. What I have gone thru or wish to go thru, what I have seen in mylife time.

I am not a good self-analyzer so I will just write poems about love. Because I think, love will always be good to write down in poetry, the suffer, desperate, longing and much more about love. Yes I will write a poem about love if I am a poet.

I'm a poet and I write mostly about politics. I know people think art and politics don't mix. However, I must disagree. They say art imitates life and I know that it imitates politics as well.

I write different kinds of poems. I have read many parables and inspirational stories, and I often use those stories in my poems. I like to turn the stories into poems. I also like to write poems about my own life and my experiences. I often use animals especially birds in my poems, but the poems aren't really about those animals they are about me, my thoughts or my problems. Sometimes I write a third kind of poems: Funny poems or "nonsense" poems. I like to play with the words.

Feelings definitely. :) Can't say it is life per say....since I have wrote abstract poems too. Just need to have a 'feel' of whatever I intend to write about....and if the feel is there and strong, I can write it.

Well usually poets write about there life or events that happen to them or even life experiences. The poems usually have meaning and a message. I have wrote a couple of poems before and it's usually base on my mood so yeah that is another thing.. =] I wrote about my life and stuff I saw and experience. I eventually post my poem on this site and I almost won 10,000 and I was invited to this event but I never went. But at least my poem out publish in a book so yeah now people will see it =]

I think to be able to write anything, it has to be about something that interest you, or something that means a lot to you. Youve got to know what you are talking about in order to be able to describe it well to someone else. Mainly, poets and writers use their own life experiences to create their work, which it be directly or indirectly. Like writers probably change the experience slightly, change the names etc. If I was a poet, i would ideally like to pick and event that happened in my life/several events, and make really memorable poems about them. Something that someone going through the same situation could relate too, and it would some how help them. If my poem could help at least one person I would be happy
