I asked myself this question, The answer is "No", but I think many of us do it. Maybe I have done it, once. but I usually do not speak to myself. I don't want to describe speaking to yourself as mental chatter, because I think this is different, mental chatter happens when your mind is talking to you. But when it's yourself talking to you, I don't know how it is called. If you do know, let me know. and why do you speak to yourself??

I do speak to myself when I type on my laptop and even when I am alone I do speak to myself, I find it very advantageous because instead of everytime seeking to speak to someone for an advice or idea, you can get it from yourself all you have to do is to know who you are and what you can do, I mean your capacity. I happen to answer myself over a question I was bothered for many days and when I got the answer I was very relieve to know it from myself, this mean that I knew the answer but I was thinking of something else so I miss the moment to know that answer. So there is nothing wrong to speak to yourself.

Thank you for your response, Yes you get some points here, sometimes talking to ourselves can be better than talking to someone while looking for an advice, because the answer can simply be here in our minds. True. I also remind the answer to some questions after asking myself that questions for a few days. You are right.

Yes and alot too, i guess that happen when your in front of the computer all day without any one to talk too ;} but to justify something, talking to yourself does not make you look a mental patient it's just that sometimes when you thinking something and you responded by talking ;}

Yeah. this is true. speaking to yourself does not mean there's something wrong going on. But it depends on how often you do that.. ;-)

Yes, I do, mostly because I am the only one who listens to me......lol Ok ok ok, seriously. I do mumble to myself, usualy it is subconcious, I don't even realize I am doing it. Other times, when I am in a bad mood, I will grumble out loud to no one, byt it is more expressinganger than talking to myself. Just a way of letting off steam I guess.

Yes, I usually grumble to no one too. but in this case, you have reasons to do it I guess. I always grumble when something is going wrong. but I usually don't speak to myself. Lol. Thanks for your reponse. Have a great day.

i speak to myself just when i wanted to train me how to speak in public. Also sometime for practicing english i talked with myself. but it's a little boring, i didn't do it often. i still prefer to talk with people than i can pay attention on what we are talking, what's the good point and what i can learn from them.

Body language is also very important if you want to talk in public. confidence is the key.

Yes, mostly when I am in the process of getting a clarity of why something is happening...
