Free computers? Yup... free.

I have found that the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation has a program where they take in used computers, install current software then give them away to those unable to afford their own computers.
We have a local agency that oversees the distribution locally... have you heard of the foundation and this part of it specifically?
Any questions I can help with?

Oh that's very cool - I was wondering about the Gates and what they're up to these days. Anyways, I'm glad they are sharing the wealth. I hope they're not giving away the crappy ones. I wonder why don't they donate to schools and such? Or do they already, it's just that not a lot of people are aware of this?

Nope, they are not the crappy ones. Here in Upstate NY, the foundation's local contact gives away computers from colleges, companies, other places that are moving up; they clean up the hard drives then install current software.
I've worked with them locally for years and have heard few complaints. May be able to locate foundation for more info.
