I had a former officemate who died about a week ago. He was involved in a car accident. The accident happened last November 2008. He was driving on his way home drunk. He lost his left leg and needed to stay and recover in the hospital until March 2009. He went back to the hospital for his last operation but unfortunately, he got a heart attack in the recovery room. It is such a tragedy because of the sufferings that he has gone through. I also emphatize because he has a 4-month old daughter. I guess it is really important to bear in mind that drinking and driving is not good.

Hello, Drink and drive is always illegal here... I dont understand why people know it but still do it. This is just bad... im sorry to hear about your friend but just keep in mind if anyone of your friends want to drink and drive again, you should tell them about this story. Once you hit, everything will change.

I am sorry to hear that. I think it is quite important that no drive after you are drunk. It is not only good for yourself, but other innocent people. Some time ago I read a post via the net. A pretty woman and her happy family. The photos which were taken in their travel. But everything changed one day when she was on the way to work. A drunk driver caused a car accident and this women was involved in it. Her whole face was ruined. It's quite horrible and sad. Her husband was afraid that she would kill herself. So everyday he held her hands and said he loved her. This post tells us never drive after you are drunk. It is a warning to everybody. I love China

My brother was killed by a drunk driver. I think some people just don't realize how dangerous it is. When I was younger a lot of us would drink and jump in the car to drive home. Didn't realize how stupid we were being. I'm sure its the same now. If you're going to drink stay at home or have a designated driver. Its not worth the risk. I'm so sorry about the loss of your friend.

Here in this State and in most states now in the Us its illegal to drive drunk. I lost my father when I was six years old, my siblings were, 10, 9, 4, and 2. It was a drunk driver that hit my father head on that killed him. My mother was left behind with 5 small children. If you drink and drive, I have no pitty on you, just those that love you and are apart of your life that you don't see, because if you truly did, you wouldn't drink and drive.

With all of these accidents youd think people would get a designated driver or atleast call a taxi, its not that hard to plan ahead. When your life is in danger thats when its time to do something.

Drinking and driving is a very stupid thing to do, this guy learnt the ultimate lesson and there is no coming back from that. I can not begin to understand why people do it, it is very selfish and not something I could forgive if I lost a family member or friend because of it. It does not take a genius to understand that drinking and driving is a very bad combination.

Hi maroseqf, long time no see, i'm sorry about this bad news you are absolutely right, drinking and driving will never be good, there's so much accident caused by drinking, it is harm for ourselves and even for other people on the street, so if you are drinking, go get your friends to help you take you home, or go by a taxi, it will be much safe though drunk is not good also for our health ..

hello,i absolutely agree with Don't drink and drive and it is strictly implemented here in Holland. I can say that most of the people here are disciplined and follow this rule coz if your caught drinking while driving, the penalty impose by the law here is very high and other consequences followed. there are policemen on the roads and also cameras that check every car. hopefully this will be implemented in the Philippines.

Drinking nd driving...not a good mixture of actions. I think that you are putting yourself at risk and asking for the worst to happen. But that is not the worst part. The worst part is that you can kill or harm someone else innocently. I had a friend who was just in a car accident not too long ago. he was hit by a drunk driver. He was driving an old truck with no airbags. He is lucky to be alive. He has to have alot of constructive surgeries to replace his teeth, and reconstruct his face. It is a horrible thing to have to witness. people need to be smarter when they go out to a party. you may think...that wont happen to me...but it can happen to ANYONE! IF you are going to go to a party and you are planning on drinking and then driving, drink early, and then stop drinking at a certain time and start to sober up so you can drive home. That is better than just being wasted and driving home.

Driving while drunk is never a wise idea. It is also a very dangerous one, not only for the driver but for all the many lives they are risking the moment they get behind that wheel and out onto the road. I would never do that myself and while I sympathize with those who are injured while drinking and driving and still feel a little bit of anger towards them.

ya drinking and driving is becoming ver popular now. There are plenty of cases being reported from everywhere. They drive recklesly under the influence of alchohol. use of mobile phones while driving is also increasing nowadays. Both can be dangerous and can end life.

That is very sad. I really hate to hear that. I agree that we should not drink and drive. It is not safe for us or other people on the road. We could lose our own life or take the lives of others.

oh yes thats tragic. of course everybody knows or even the law didnt permit anyone to drive if you drunk. an there are too many cases already that some driver get caught driving due to they are drunk. and i guess that law is a big help and its also for the sake of the drivers and for their family.. some people are so angry with this law though for me its very helpful.

I dislike drunk drivers, I have no respect for them at all.I am sorry for your lost, but driving drunk makes me really upset, I had a friend that just bought a beautiful car only to have his license taken away from for driving drunk, he did not have his car for a whole month, how stupid is that.
