We are told that they will tax only the Wealthiest people in the country. Who are the Wealthy that they are talking about. Under President Clinton it was anyone making over $60,000. Back when the income tax was sold to the American People it was the top 1% who would pay and everyone else would be exempt. The Alternative Minimum Tax was to cover the 150 or so wealthiest people who paid little or no taxes, soon it will cover 23 million people. Even the Cell Phone tax was only for the rich because the common person could not afford them. Just remember that any tax on the rich sooner or later becomes a tax on all. The question remains who will pay for the new Health Care and the answer is everyone who is working.

I am not quite understanding. It is common knowledge that proposals, plans, bills, laws, etc. change over time, nothing remains the same; i.e., Social Security, Medicaid, and so-on-and-so-forth...I got that part. The part I do not quite get is what is wrong with everyone contributing to their own health care. Am I missing something? Are you saying you want things to stay the way they are? You've asked a question and given an answer to the question you just asked...was it rhetorical? I really don't get it.

Everyone who pays taxes will pay for this healthcare plan regardless of income.
Anytime the government is involved it is the taxpayers who get stuck with the bill.

Everyone will pay for it I believe. There is no way that only the rich will be able to afford health care for all people in the US. I think that he is pushing it to hard, and he needs to back off and let the government decide what is the best way to accomplish it. Right now, it is the small business owners that are really going to be hurt by this, and aren't going to be able to afford it, so they will close down. And that will just hurt our economy even more.
