Ok so this has happened to me twice on different PC's and to atleast one friend. On Farmtown in facebook at the marketplace there are viruses, worms, and trojans! It took me all day to get rid of a program that I picked up there that was commandeering my pc! I got rid of it by running yahoo spyware program then resetting my pc to a month prior to when I picked it up. Warning though unless you run the yahoo spyware you won't be able to reset your pc to a prior date cause the program will stop you from running anything that will get rid of it including your own virus protection. The program tries to force you ro pay $45 for its security protection by threatening you with trojans and saying that your pc is infected even though your own virus scans will not detect it! Just be careful when you go to the marketplace and if it starts to act funny get out of there. I used to go there to ask for work but after getting more than I bargained for I just sell my goods and leave.

Thanks tons for the warning - I haven't been on facebook much the last few weeks, just don't have time but when I was I did the Farmtown thing a few times. Personally I think facebook is becoming alot like myspace - too much 'junk' and not enough serious conversation.

I wouldn't have posted it if it wasn't true. It is only in the marketplace though. I still play I am just ultra careful. The program installed itself on my pc before I knew what was happening it is called Personal Security so if you have that installed on your pc and you didn't install it you know you have been infected.

It is smart to run anti-virus each time you use your computer. Especially if you are using these type of sites. I had all kinds of viruses, worms, and trojans after going on a certain site. I had all kinds of problems with my PC too because of it. Then I got the Norton 360 and SpySweeper and I scan every day. I no longer have the problems. This is alittle spendy but I think it is smart to have and saves alot in the long run.

Are you sure regarding those viruses from Farm Town? Me and my sisters also like to play that game in Facebook. We didn't know of such hazards that it may cause while playing that game online. Thats pretty scary though I don't spend much time playing that game as I have other things to do online like doing Mylot.

Thnak you very much for the warning. I don't really take the time to play all of those games on Facebook, although I have been invited to do so. Now that you have warned me about the various typies of viruses that are out there, I don't think I am going to get involved in those games either.
