funny exchange with a friend

I sent a friend a really nice powerpoint that I had gotten with pictures of St. Petersburg, Russia. She replied back that she had been there in 1957 when it was still Leningrad and how dare they change the name, it was confusing. I replied back that that WAS rude and that I still called Istanbul Constantinople. Her reply was, "Constantinople??? I thought it was called Byzantium." My reply, "and I thought I was old." Hers? "Touche." Had any funny exchanges with friends today? Or did everybody go to the rodeo and forget to invite me?

well, you could tell her that they changed it from St Petersburg to Leningrad so they were just changing it BACK to its original name - heck, it was called Stalingrad for a while - what name is the "real" one?

that happens to me in the morning, so if you ever get an incoherent response, remember Dawn's not a morning person!

Naw, it was St. Petersburg, Petrograd, Leningrad and then St. Petersburg again. Stalingrad was another city. But yeah I could have told her that. It wouldn't have been as funny though!

The rodeo was boring. I knew that you would not like it.

Rodeo? What Rodeo? Oh, yeah, that one. Actually that exchange sounds a lot like the kinds of things my son and I would do. Our whole family would, if the truth were known. To quote my ninth grade Ancient History teacher, "Everything Charlemagne did was 'Frankly' immitation." Of course only two of us got the pun, and we earned A's for the day. I like that kind of banter.

It is nice that you have a friend that you can joke with like that. I don't really have any close friends to joke with like that. I did not get an invite to the rodeo either if that is where everyone is today.

We did actually, I was calling Coke to report a flat coke product and my boyfriend said yeah while your at it ask them about this pepsi. I of course pepsi is made by pepsi cola, so I thought it was pretty funny. We exchange quips quite a bit thourout the day. It amuses us.

No point telling them about the Pepsi. There's no fixing that stuff.
