Internet is increasing becoming more and more integrated with our lives, and we keep wanting more and more. So much has changed in this millennium from the early days of napster, to the creation of Google, Youtube, Facebook, Twitter, etc. We have been so accustomed to spending our time on the net, then actually socializing with people or doing other things. The internet might have advanced at lightning speed, but this is just the tip of the iceberg of things to come. I remember 1 year where my computer was damaged and getting fixed and I couldn`t go on the internet to play games and surf online. It was terrible, as I had to adapt quickly to satisfy my boredom! I went out on my more often, was more active and I guess was having a better lifestyle, instead of staring at a monitor for 8 hours! When I did get my internet and computer back, I was ecstatic too at how much everything changed from the websites I regularly visit to the new sites that started to pop up. My question to you today is how long you could live without having any access to the internet ( even on mobile) and what you would do instead of the time spent on it?

I could live forever without it but I would spend more money on books than I do for service so I am glad to have it, it really does save me money.

I agree. I might spend much more time playing sports. Although, it would definitely gonna cost me more. If I can't use email, instant messenger, or SNS, I have to call or text people. If I can't use GPS, I gonna get lost so I have to buy a map. If I can't read news, I have to buy news papers. If I can't use YouTube, I have to record all the TV shows, which I would need a good DVD recorder, and also, buy or rent more DVDs. ... the list goes on. It's gonna be much costly than $50 a month for Internet.

Hey, Well I would have to say that my life would be even more boring than it is right now, I mean my life right now is just a little boring. But the Internet makes my life quite fun, so if I would have no Internet, I would be totally miserable. Make sure you have a good day, God bless and Happy Lotting!!

Well, as you said, without internet people would become more physically active. I would hope, at least. Either that or they could possibly resort to television, which I think 90% of it is completely a waste of time. But, back to the original question... I would probably be more physically active, to an extent. I'm not close enough to any of my friends, or close enough to town to actually do things like that, but I can draw and write, too. Normally I spend most of my internet time at night... Which is when it's too dark to do much else. So, I come online. Without the internet, I might stay up playing games or writing, like I sometimes do, but I might actually go to bed early. Guess it depends on how I feel at the time, right? Part of me thinks that the internet is abused, and it's the reason for most of our problems. Most of the people are becoming unsociable, because they horde themselves on the computer/tv all the time. I know quite a few people like this. So yeah, I think with limited or no computer time, the world could be better.

This happens to me occasionally. There are times when the internet connection would go off for a number of days. It's difficult coz I do important stuff here like paying bills, talking my my distant loved ones, doing other online activities. But when it happens and there's nothing I can do but wait for the internet connection to come back, I make use of the time to work on my household chores, or read books, or watch TV. There is always a better way of spending time, and it's not gonna help to sulk just because something that I love doing is not available at the moment.

I became more dependent on the internet as computer softwares etc. became more advanced. Especially since our world is becoming more of an "wireless" world than ever. So many information can be accessed and found on the internet that people hardly use normal books or even people to find these information anymore. I use the internet to check my emails, buy online, correspond with school or work. It's become an integral part of my life and I really have no idea how I would survive without the internet. Everything that I would do would have to become manual once again. Writing letters instead of emails. Buying from stores instead of shopping online and having it shipped to me. I'm not trying to sound lazy, but the internet allow me to do the things I want in a fast and easy manner that I just can't give up!

I am invalided, so I really can't afford to go out places, even going to the movies is a large cost for me. So using the Internet provides me with cheaper entertainment. There was a time when I would be visiting sites constantly, or playing games but for the last year all I've been doing is downloading videos, usually television programs and watching them. If I didn't have the internet, I would likely spend that time watching television or videos

Internet is something that was previously unexistant and so we all lived with it withought any problem. The thing is once we get so used to something we desire it and "need" it. Withought internet I would miss a part of my life, I have always loved going online, making my own websites and such. The internet is something that amazes me and is a big part of my life. If it went away I would be sad, I would definitely get into different hobbies, but the internet was also a tool. I couldn't imagine studying computer science withought internet, that would be weird (mostly because I want to embark on the world wide web) Cheers!

I can live without it, but maybe not happy life,,lol,, It's just because I know wo many opportunities in the net to make extra money and i can't access it! I will do something, maybe go to the warnet(in my place, it's "warung internet",, place where you can online but you must pay, usually 0.5$ per hour) Or I will go to sleep, exercise and buy books about money opportunities so I won't feel too miserable.. Or I will try anyway to get my internet!

I would be going crazy - literally. But I would be pretty mad if one day no one could have internet, because I usually like online gaming and msn messenger so it would be pretty hard. But if I was born not knowing what the internet was then it wouldn't bother me one bit.

Think I'd have to cry :-( the net is something that gets used every day and it helps me to pass the time when it's quiet around here, even late at night. We use the net for everything. from ordering food online to doing coarse work for school. It's our everything. both my hubby and I live far away from our families and so we use it to keep in touch with family and friends back home. but sesriously i'd cry.

I am a software engineer.Internet and computers are my life. I can't make my living without them.So to be quite honest it would be impossible for me to live without the internet. I can live without accessing all the fun sites- social networking and all that. But then I need the net for my work. If I did not depend on the net for my living then I am sure I could make it without the net. I would spend more time reading and writing.I also love travelling, so I would do that a lot more :)

OMG. Tat would be hhaardd. If it just failed one day for forever I would be in tears, I would. Not tat I play internet games or anything like that, the loss of the fun stuff would sting a little, but more importantly all the friends I have on here!!! If i had lost contact to them it would be just horrible!!! :*( I have 3 friends who are my best friends, and closer than so many "friends" I have here. So that would be the hardest, it would be very painful to lose them. Plus sites like myspace and facebook keep me in touch with all the friends I have here as well. It would be very hard. How long would I go? Well I've had like 2 weeks without internet at all. So I don't think it would be TOO hard, it's not like im Super obsessed. I could pbbly go a month or two without going mad. maybe a little longer.
