I need to defrost and clean my automatic defrost fridge because it's not working

right. It's freezing in parts it shouldn't freeze and only cold sometimes in parts that are supposed to freeze. Wish me luck and any advice you can give about cleaning and fixing refrigerators would be a help. I'm hoping I don't have to call a repairman and miss a day of work or go buy a new one. Thanks.

I would recommend you that YOu please let your fridge OFF for atleast 2-3 hors.Then when the frost starts to get defrost then maybe u can start cleaning,.this is the method I usually follow for my fridge....Cheers

I would make sure the drip pan is clean, and the coils are dust free. Check the temp settings, make sure things do not block where the air needs to circulate. Now why do I think I am such a Know it all, I do not do this like I should, but I know it needs doing. I do well to make sure the cat hair is out of the intake vents at the bottom. I wonder if you could do a search for your specific make and model and learn more than we are telling you? Your coils may be underneath, or may be at the back outside of the fridge. Good luck. I hope some good maintenance does the trick.
