while i am doing this discussion, i am at the same time watching on tv the first female ex president of the philippines is being laid to her final rest. the way from the church to the memorial park took almost 8-9 hours due to the many people on the road who braved the rain just to be able to sympathized with the family. she is the philippine democracy icon who swept away a dictator and inspired a non violent resistance againt the autcratic rule of the Marcoses. her fame rose in 1983 when her husband was gunned down in the airport tarmac when he went home from exile from US to challenge Ferdinand Marcos, his adversary. the killing enraged the filipino people which led to her being thrust as national leader. she is a simple housewife and she is a heroine of the filipino power movement. God bless and keep her. may she rest in peace.
