We all want to enjoy life and be happy, of course, and we each have our own ways of bringing enjoyment into our day to day lives. Sometimes, something very simple brings joy into my life, like blowing bubbles or playing outside with my grandchildren. Sometimes, something a bit more complex does it, like writing something new. Other things I enjoy are time with people I love, travel, music, prayer, hobbies, and the work I do. What are some of the ways you bring enjoyment into your life?Thank you. Karen

I love playing with my kids. My children are still young enough to love blowing bubbles. They also like to chase them so I get to blow bubbles. There is definitely something relaxing about blowing bubbles. LOL I love to read if I ever get the time. Mostly I spend time with my children. That's the most enjoyment life can bring.

Hello MommaJ. Oh yes, children add an immense amount of joy to life. They are so curious, so enthusiastic, and that is a joy to behold. And once the children are raised, one is blessed if grandchildren follow :) Best wishes to you in all ways. Karen

They are certainly entertaining. I have always loved young kids. I won't know what to do with mine once they enter their teen years. Someone better send me a new instruction manual. LOL

LOL, yes...unfortunately, I never did find such a manual that was accurate. Kids certainly change almost overnight as they near their teen years. Karen

I would say the enjoyment of my lofe comes from the sweet hugs and kisses of my husband in the morning and the laugh we share as we tell stories of what happen within the day before going to bed.

Hi Jaizhi. I agree...human contact and the comfort and pleasure of a loving human touch are hard to beat when it comes to adding enjoyment to one's life. Things shared are joys multiplied and sorrows reduced. Karen

You are so right. Hugs and kisses are very reassuring, very comforting and uplifting. Studies have shown that babies who are seldom touched do not thrive, and that people who receive 8 hugs a day are more happy, less prone to suffer depression, than those who receive few or none. So up with hugs!

I love to enjoy too but most of the time life doesn't really allows us to enjoy too much too. However I will usually spend my free time going out to have a drink with friends, sometimes going out for short trips, car trips and also photography trips. Doing sport and hitting the club is also part of the entertainment in life we must not miss out for sure.Travelling can be really enjoyable however it do consume lots of money and so there are many more other things such as going out to visit and chill with friends that doesn't require us to spill out even a single cent!

Hi Maikarumike. When life gets stressful, it is good to have friends and our small pleasures each day. And yes, a road trip or other form of travel brings a refreshing change of scenery to enjoy. You are again right in saying that much of what adds enjoyment to life is there for the having...free of charge--good conversation, for instance, or the wonders of nature or comforts of prayer :) Karen

Nice topic! very inspiring. For me, I keep myself happy by being satisfied of what I am right now regardless of having nothing at all. I got no wealth. I am not pretty but I always find some good in me and that keeps me satisfied. Like I see myself as an ugly girl but that does not keep me down. At least I have a complete body and I am normal. That keeps me feeling blessed living in this world. I have no wealth but at least I have graduated in a certain course, BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing). I have a profession and education that comes in my name. I admit that we are poor but I feel blessed for the fact that God gave me talent and that is to sing and play guitar and Music does keeps me alive and happy. I think you yourself can make of yourself blissful by choosing to be happy but if your so preoccupied with what you have and wishing to have more with what you have right now, then I would definitely say that would totally make it difficult for you living a happy life. Thanks for this topic!

Thank you, Joygracia, and hello :) I agree that happiness is ours to choose or reject. Abraham Lincoln is known for having said: Most people are about as happy as they make up their minds to be... and he was right. As you already do, is brings joy just to realize one's specialness and even the smallest of blessings in life. There is something to be grateful for on even the darkest of days. Thank you for sharing your wisdom :) Karen

Right now my biggest cause of happiness is my son’s first term results in school. His school does not have any exams till std IV and this year, in std V he appeared for the first major exam of his life…I have never pressurized him to excel and this time too, of his own efforts he got B in 7 subjects and A in three…I am over the moon simply coz he did not succumb to exam jitters and scored good enough…we are now working on improving this for the 2nd terms. Other than that, being with him is a constant joy though painful too…he is constantly on the move and expects the same from me LOL Other than that, there are so many simple things that bring me joy…a sense of achieving something, a note of appreciation from the boss (rarest of rare), a dinner well-cooked, even a BR here…life is as simple and happy as we choose to make it.

Aw, Unuzzz. I love the way you embrace time with friends and your nightly ritual of iced tea and a great dvd. Those things make up the biggest part of our lives--the day-to-day things--and often do bring us great enjoyment. Thank you for adding your pleasures to the discussion :) Karen

There are two things which will guarantee bringing enjoyment into my life. the first is going outside and staring at the sky, taking deep breaths and just observing nature going on around me, it also has the bonus of effect of a great way to destress. I love observing nature at work and just the simplest of things like a caterpillar munching away at a leaf makes me feel happy. The other things is putting on a good old fashioned feel good movie such as "Harvey" as I love movies especially those which leave you with a warm positive outlook on life.

Hi Daily. Oh, another sky-watcher. You are so right. Nature and all its working are such a fascination! Always amazing. Makes me feel humbled and awed at the same time. I also applaud you for seeking the joys of a feel-good movie. They always leave one with a warm flow and a smile :) Karen

You sound a lot like myself. I have been blessed by life as to keep on looking at it with wonder after over 60 years. I can still play with my grandchildren, talk with my daughters (who come to my home when they want to and not by duty). I have a handful of incredible friends. I write, I travel, I cook for my people, I garden, I fight with "that dog" (Lola had her first school day 2 days ago. The teacher pronounced her intelligent and she DOES sit at my command when she doesn´t try to hug me). I like your blowing bubbles. I like kaleidoscopes.

Hi Marguicha. What a beautiful life you've made for yourself. You're right, I do love all those things, too. Well, I cannot have a pet in my apartment, but I feed the outdoor birds and other "little critters." Life is good, even in the hardest of times :)) Karen

There are many activities that make me enjoy life. First and foremost is praying. The moment I wake up each morning, I get down on my queen-sized bed, bend my knees and utter a prayer of thanks for another day of lease on life. Whatever joy or sorrow that this day brings, I offer them for the greater glory of God. Then I become busy with preparing rice dish for my two college girls, do the laundry, listen to the news, drive the girls to the university and back, tend my garden when it is not raining, write a little on mylot and communicate with people who probably have the same worries as mine... Life is a blessing indeed!

Hi Gingfenger. I do not know of Gui-lin, but I do know the joys of living in a small, beautiful city where the people are kind and friendly and where the pace is a bit more leisurely than in the larger cities. It is a pleasure to reside in such a place :) Karen

I enjoy getting out of town and going out fishing on the river. Just standing out there and listening to the water makes me forget about the everyday stresses in my life. Also, going to the gym and sipping on a Jamba Juice on a summer day is nice too!

Hello Druid. Isn't a change of scenery a nice thing? Gives one such a lift. And I have a friend who loves to go fishing with me. I no longer belong to a gym, but I certainly loved the times that I did belong. I am glad you have found all these enjoyments. :) Karen

Hello Karen. That's a very nice posting. Yes, we all have our ideals and wishes in life. It certainly is very enjoyable to do things one aspire for. I spend a lot of time doing my favorite hobbies too. One of my haobbies is writing, which I have been doing since my high school days. I travel a lot too. I am very fortunate to have a job which takes me to countries around the world. Best wishes to you to enjoy life !

Hey, Well the way I enjoy life is when I post on MyLot or on YouTube and that really relaxes me quite a bit. I think that I still enjoy my life without proper friends or anything like that, I am still happy. Make sure you have a good day, God bless and Happy Lotting!!

Things that I enjoy will be having my family around, especially with my nephew and nieces around, and with my parents. I also like to go to the beach and having a peaceful and calm feeling while walking there. I also enjoy dancing and doing exercise, the excitement that I just discovered recently. Of course I enjoy when there is no person that I hate at that place.

Hi Ucue. Immediate and extended family are a big blessing, and so are beautiful beaches for walking and thinking and enjoying all that nature offers. I'm glad you have found the joys of dancing, as well. You sound like a person who knows truly how to enjoy your life :) Karen

LOL Jb. Yes, for nothing spectacular, your list is a wonderful size! Once we begin listing the things we do or love, it can really open the eyes to how much there is to us! Things we enjoy alone or with loved ones, and then volunteering to help others are all wonderful ways to better enjoy life. Take care. Karen

I love reading, or writing, a good book, watching my kids play sports, creating something with paper or beads, a good massage and a lazy morning in bed with my husband. not necessarily in that order. The places I love are the beach, a beautiful sunset and anyplace I can go alone cuz I have five kids and I love them but peace and quiet is good too!

In think what you are asking is similar to hobby. I like to sing and read novels, though i think nothing brings more enjoyment than listening to good music.
