What a guy to be able to go to North Korea and bring home the two journalist is quite remarkable. When I saw them all walking down the stairs of the plane the waterworks started, especially when Euna Lee was hugging her 4 year old daughter. What a moment. Today was a great day for America. Thank God for Clinton, Secretary of State Clinton and President Obama for getting the job done. Your thoughts on seeing this, if any.

I don't believe Clinton just walked over to Korea and they gleefully handed the hostages over, this was unannounced very last minute and require precise negotations on both parts--the media entourage and clips and photos just serve both parties. http://www.mcclatchydc.com/world/story/73006.html

You're both right. From the reports I've seen there has been a lot of behind the scenes negotiating going on and a visit by Clinton was specifically requested and agreed upon.

Hard to imagine that there isn't some part of 'dog and pony show' involved, giving the North Koreans a chance to save face without officially connectinmg with the US gov't. Still a chance to see service done and a good news story when we could sure use one.

No I'm sure there were negotations that took place with President Obama and Secretary of State Clinton but I also think because of Bill Clintons reputation he is loved across the world and that is the bottom line. He got the job done and I think that all involved did a great job. Just think Bush would never have been able to accomplish this.

I think this was all a set up, the government said things had been in the works for some time and that Clinton only agreed to go when promised a great outcome. No one is a hero here especially Clinton, he was just the front man. I do believe he is doing good work around the world.

Well yes Obama and Hillary Clinton set up the ground work but the Korean's asked for Bill Clinton and no one else. If he hadn't agreed the journalists would most likely still be there. I think Bill Clinton is doing great Humanatarian work and he is greatly admired all around the world. Thanks for responding.

This certainly was a happy ending for everyone and I'm thankful that these two women are finally home with their families. From what I've heard Clinton only recently became involved, by request, but he did a wonderful job.

Thanks for taking time from our usual rants to praise a public servant doing something extraordinary. Hey, its great to mention public service again, isn't it?

Thank you. I agree with you we seem to look at the bad more than we praise the good that does happen in our country. Thank you for responding.

My family and I were in Arkansas during the entire Clinton governorship, and I can tell you first hand that neither he nor Hillary aren't the wonderful people they portray themselves as. I just wish I'd been a bit older back then and understood more of what was going on with him in office; I'd never have shaken his hand. In short, the insanity he stirred up during his presidency is the same as what he stirred up when he was governor. High taxes, high taxes, and more high taxes were the order of the day.

Sorry about your feeling but I love the Clintons. When he was in office I was doing 110% better financially and I truly believe he did a great job while in office. He left office with a surplus of capital Bush spent every last dime and more. I think Bill Clinton is a great humanitarian and he has my upmost respect always. Thanks for responding.
