WOW! I have been making a more-than-usual conscious effort to lose weight lately. I've been paying attention to what I'm eating and all that. The last couple days my scale has said I've lost about 5 pounds, but my clothes are telling me I've got a lot more room in them than I used to have! They're still a bit snug, but not TIGHT like they were. I'm going on vacation next week, so I hope to just not gain. When I get back though, I'm going on a serious losing streak!!!
Anyone else doing good with losing weight this summer?

A great tip I have for loosing weight is eat alot of fiber. This is also good for your health. Drink alot of water, should be hot. Water detoxify your body. Eat a good breakfast withen one hour after waking up this will increase your metabolism and make you choose healthy dicision throughout your day. Snack only on fruits and vegetables and some nuts. Also don't forget some exercise through out the day. This could be simple as walking. Good luck.

Thanks for the tips, I'm pretty much doing all that now as it is. Now that the summer is over I can get back into my routine and on the way to more weight loss.

Hello!
Oh yes fiber is a friend and sometimes it can help with a sweet tooth as well . They have this good chololate chip bar that does the trick . I also sometimes eat the yogurt when it is on sale . Keeps you full and gets the fat out.

I started eating healthy and changed all my junkfoods to healthy junkfoods... instead of regular ice cream i get coconut ice cream instead for example. i recently found out that i lost 20lb over past few month and i didn't even notice it. i'm in my perfect weight category now, 115 lb. all my jeans are too big except those that i got 6-7 years ago hoping i'll lose weight (i was 120 back than) i love it, i eat all i want except in healthy variation and i loose weight, plus loosing all the health problems i once had. love it.

That is awesome! I usually eat pretty healthy, and try to exercise on a regular basis. Just sometimes I slip and need to have some "bad for you" food! I'm back on track though, and things should start looking good again!

Sounds like you have really been toning up, so you have probably lost more than five pounds of fat, you have replaces some of it with muscle. I have not done well this summer, yet, with losing, although I am eating healthier. I let some of my muscles convert to flab somewhere along the line, and that is a sad sad thing.

Sometimes scales aren't accurate. Congratulations on your weight loss. Be careful on your vacation. Its the most easy to gain weight when you are on vacation but its definetly possible not to gain weight. I'm doing pretty good with my summer weight loss too. I lost five pounds.

Nope. :( I actually gained a lot of weight. I'm definitely working hard to lose it though. I just know I'd really like to fit in my clothes again. I don't trust my scale at all either. I don't understand how they break so easy. I swear I've never had a correct one.

I know mine is right, it's just that the fat turns to muscle so it's tone but heavier. Which is fine with me. I use my clothes as more of a guide than my scale.

If you are excercizing while loosing weight, keep in mind that muscle weighs more than fat. You may be losing fat and gaining muscle, which may result in lost inches, but not necessarily lost weight.
It is always a good idea to take your measurements with a measuring tape when you first start a weight loss plan. That way even if you don't lose weight right away, you can see what kind of progress you are making.
Building and toning muscle, will raise your metabolism and help you burn fat.

I used to take my measurements too, but now I just gauge by my clothes. When they're getting looser I know I'm doing good!

Congrats! I've been "trying" to loose weight some weeks it works some weeks it doesnt then theres a couple where i just gave up and ended up putting everything back on. I'm back to trying again. I was ticked a few weeks ago because i couldnt do up a pair of jeans i bought 2 months ago so now I'm working at it again. I can do the jeans up again however it sure isnt comfy to wear em while sitting yet!
You may have gained muscle - which weighs more than fat so you lost more fat than the scale says.

Yeah, I'm good with the muscle gain. I use my clothes as judges to my weight loss more than I use the scale.

I want to lose weight for this summer, but I need to get my eye on the ball. I should probably be playing the video game "the biggest loser" that we rented. I know the first time I tried that game I was amazed at how fast I was already sweating and my heart rate was increasing!

I bought that and love it! I can't do it right now though because I'm having some joint issues and the squats KILL me! Hopefully I can get back to it soon.
btw - I've gained back any weight I had lost when I first posted this :-(

I took it back and hardly played the game at all. Sorry you gained yours back, but we're in the same boat nearly as I've not tried hard enough to lose weight.

So far I've lost fifteen pounds using my Wii Fit, and studying martial arts. It's been wonderful. I've given up soda for the most part, though I do have it still on rare occassion. I've been really watching portion control and that seems to have helped me the most. And I've been "eating"! That is something in the past I used to not do. I would simply stop eating and end up gaining more weight.
My yoga pants are startingto fall off my hips and when I finally measured this month I had gone gone 4 inches in my waist, and 3 in my hips from my measurements in July. I was so excited!
It's slow, but it's better this way. Just keep doing what you are doing and don't worry about how fast. The slower you loose the weight, the longer you'll keep it off. Congratulations on your weight loss!!!

Thanks!!! It sounds like you're doing a great job. I just got back from a few vacations so I'm ready to get back into the swing of things. I didn't lose any more weight, but I didn't gain a whole lot back.
