Welcome from the cottage in the woods

August 7, 2009 8:51pm CST
I finally decided to start a place I call Anora’s Cottage to share a cup of tea with friends. It is my place to share perhaps more intimate thoughts, but also a place to delve into the many areas of life and share them with my friends. I hope to find many ideas to share, and offer up for discourse as time goes by. I hope that my friends will join me here with the riches of friendship. To start this interest I thought I would just share a bit about myself with my new friends on here who may not know me as well as some of my friends. I am many things and as I put on my personal website, I have multiple facets of the Goddess that make me who I am. I am a mother, wife, teacher, friend, student, priestess, and sentient being. I believe in honesty above all else. I have spent the last several years working on creating Simple Abundance in my home by following those suggestions and teachings and applying them to my life. I walk a very eccentric path, yet one that allows for acceptance of all paths because each of us is on our own journey. I can be very forthright in my feelings on topics that are near and dear to my heart, but I try always to take into consideration the thoughts of others. Though I may disagree with a friend, I do not allow that to end the friendship. I have taught in the public school system for over five years, and am very near to the completion of my master degree. I prize education, but I also prize life education as well. I feel you can learn just as much from life’s teachings as you can from a book. I value friendships to the end, and tend to be very protective of my friends. I look forward to the friendships I shall develop through Mylot, and am glad that a certain friend talked me into starting my own interest. So, for the purposes of starting this interest thread off properly, what brought you to Anora’s Cottage? What can I offer you for tea? Do you wish me to read the cards for you? Is there an herbal remedy you need or concoction you need to gain something in your life? Oh yes, that is right, I am Pagan and I welcome all here regardless of your life path. I am the wise woman in her small cottage waiting for visitors. Namaste-Anora

Hi Anora, I am honored to enter you cottage and yes a cup of tea could be nice. Perhaps later, you could tell my fortune from the tea leaves or if you would rather, you could read the cards. Bare in mind of course that I am a little more than two months short of my seventieth birthday. I have written a number of short stories and would like to get them published in book form, perhaps that is the most that I can wish for. I hope that your cottage turns out to be a great success. Blessings.

Pose- Welcome to my cottage and thank you for brightening my day with your presence. -Hands him a cup of mugwort tea with herbs-. I am very honored to do a reading for you and shall do them later this evening. I do read tea leaves and will do so. It would be best if you could drink the tea from the glass which the tea leaves are read, but I shall drink for you and focus upon your books. I would think from what I have read of your writings online that you would make a wonderful author. I look forward to more chats with you my friend. Namaste-Anora

What an amazing little cottage in the woods, I would love a cup of tea and I would bring with me a bowl of fresh berries that we can munch on while we chat. I would love for you to read cards for me. The thing that drew me to this topic was the peacefulness of the the title. I think everyone dreams of having a little cottage in the woods that they can escape too, and refocus and get away for a little while from the cares of the day and world. Thank you for sharing your cottage and peace with us

Jenny- Welcome and it is a pleasure to meet you. Thank you very much for the friend add! -Hands her a cup of Queen of Babylon-. I am glad that this cottage radiates of peace, because it is my hopes it shall become a place where we can all retire from the busy world around us and enjoy the soothing balm of sweet friendship. I shall do my readings later this evening and return answers through emails, to keep it personal. Namaste-Anora

Hi Anora - I'm a little bit late. I was on vacation last week and although I was home, I was letting the kids hog the computer. They're back to school this week, so they have to get serious again. Anyway, a cup of tea sounds lovely, something caffeinated since my brain is still waking up! Read the cards? What does that involve? If the cards can help me figure out who I am and what I want, I'm all for it. Thanks for the invite. Dawn

It was a lazy vacation, we mostly stayed home and did not very much, but I'm not so totally refreshed (staying up late and not sleeping in - bad Dawn). But I'm more awake now, must have been the caffeine. Actually, the burning question is more: 1) go right - figure out how to get this marriage back to some degree of normalcy, ie a mutual loving relationship or 2) go left - end it and get out and get independent Or in other words, why can't Dawn make up her mind and stick to it? (Don't you hate people who talk about themselves in the third person? lol) Anyway, some guide posts would be much appreciated. thanks...

Dawn- How wonderful for your vacation! I hope you are thoroughly rejuvinated. And it is always nice to see the children return to school, even though we love them very much. Hmm, caffeinated. -Hands her a hot cup of Herbal Tea concentrate rasberry flavored-. The cards involve me reading my Dragon Tarot deck focusing on the issue or such that you wish to have read. If you are trying to figure out who you are and what you want then I can read them whilst focusing on them. I've been reading cards since 2002, and have spirit guides that I work with closely when reading. The cards are never a "here's what to do" cookie cutter response. They are more suggestions of what occurs if you maintain your current path. It's like guide posts along the highway so to speak. I am more then happy to read your cards and can do them this evening and send you a detailed email tomorrow. Thank you so much for stopping by my cottage for a visit. Namaste-Anora

Dear friend, I am so glad you chose to do this. I am a mother, grandmother, daughter and teacher. I am very interesting in learning about people and animals. Also into herbal healing and health. I find so many members of Mylot to be so interesting and unique within themselves yet so much alike. I am so proud of your many accomplishments. I haven't done much I could put on a resume or that I would get big time awards for or anything. I had guardianship of my grand daughter for about a dozen years, I write and publish to several online sites, I do research and learn what I can about any given subject. There is something you could do for me. Make me a beauty so I can catch the heart of my newest interest. Green tea with some honey would be nice. Thank you for the invite to Anora's Cottage. I was much enjoyed.

CE- Thank you very much dear friend for stopping by. -Hands her a hot cup of green tea with a splash of Minnesota made honey-. It sounds as if you have many accomplishments to be proud of. You have done many great things with your life, and raising your granddaughter is to be very appreciated. I am excited to be around another teacher, and author. I look forward to reading more of your writings, so please feel free to share them with me in a personal note. (Is too sadly aware that we must be mindful on Mylot of TOS). I will gladly point others in the direction of your wisdom. I shall look through my books to see what I may be able to find that is most appropriate for what you seek. Do not despair though, you are a beauty already so anything we come up with shall be merely to make others notice this wonderful quality that you already possess. Have a wonderful evening. Such a lovely idea! I thank you for the invitation Anora and I plan on dropping in regularly. A cup of tea would be nice, thank you! I am at a crossroads at the moment and I am unsure which way to go; I have a lot going on in my life at the moment but I will certainly take the time to visit. I would love to have my cards read! It has been years since I had a reading and right now the time is right for a little guidance. I am very interested in your faith and I would love to learn more about it, can you recommend some reading material? Love to learn more... Thank you again for inviting me, I will be sure to visit again real soon!

Paula- I finished your reading this afternoon and will be sending you a personal note. I have a host of books I find of use so don't hestitate to ask for more ideas. One of the books I found most useful as a female was Women who run with wolves. It's a wonderful book on the "wild woman". If you have something specific in mind do let me know so I can go through my shelves and find something that relates. Have a wonderful day dear friend. Namaste-Anora

Paula- Thank you so much for stopping by. -Hands her a cup of mint tea for calming-. I am sorry to hear you are at a crossroads, and I am very happy to do a reading for you. I shall done tomorrow morning and send you a personal email regarding the read. I am very happy to share with you my faith/path. I still hold a great many beliefs that I grew up with in the Catholic church, and one of the books I most enjoyed along those lines was "Goddess of the Gospels" (It may be "in" ). It's a book that parallels the gospel mentions of Mary to the Goddess herself. I do pull a lot from various paths, so I tend to read across the board. One of the books I go through each year is Simple Abundance devotions. It's a wonderful book for women. I also love a book called Animal Speak by Ted Andrews. He's a wonderful author and does quite a bit with Native American beliefs. Though he wrote a book called Simplified Kabbalah Magic which I enjoyed very much because it broke down the Tree of Life in a fashion that I could understand and relate to. Have a wonderful week dear friend. Namaste-Anora

Hello my friend Anora_Eldorath Ji, I wish to bring out other part of the story from my experiences. Everyone here including me never disclose one's wekness. here are few words from 'SATSANG' "SATSANG (a) ”If you can balance /stable your mind, when people around you are in un-balanced , and at the same time blaming you”. (NO-reaction) (b) “If you have belief on yourself, when others have doubt and at the same time, you strongly oppose their belief of their doubt” (c) “If you can wait for Good/Bright days without loosing patience/getting disheartened of waiting”. (d) “Everyone around you is deceiving you , whereas you are not in any way.” (e) “ Every body hates you and you do not, at the same time, you ARE not proud to be ‘good’ and ‘wise’. (f) “ If you Can dream, but do not allow them to overpower you, and you Can ‘think’ but at the same time, do not plunge into dreams of ‘thinking”. (g) “If you can welcome ‘gains’ and ‘defeat’ OR ‘profit’ & ‘loss’ with open hearts and they do not unbalance your mind”. (h) “If you can accept your own words in twisted/mutilated /distorted form, happily by ‘fools’ and they do not involve you in their bad plans”. (i)“ If you Can bear/tolerate the ‘gains’ accomplished by you ‘raise to ashes’ , for which you took whole life to build, and at the same time you can once again order your tired hands to restart making”. (J) “ If you can take one chance to reduce your gains in your life, ‘loose’ or ‘gain’ (like a great gambler) (k)“If you can, after loosing every bit in your life, get ready fresh to obtain the same with total energy from all corners of your body and mind, without uttering a single word even”. (l)“ If you Can compel your heart, mind and limbs, when they are so tired and refuse to accept any thing, except that your ‘belief’ and ‘desire’ to order them that they have to march forward and not falling back”. (m) “ If you can roam in crowds, but do not allow your ‘thoughts’ and ’abilities’ to wander stray, and you live with emperor, but do not neglect common man “. (n) “ If you are unharmed by people loving you and people hating you”. (o)“ If you Can respect everybody within the limits, but at the same time nobody”. (p)“ IF YOU CAN REMEMBER THE UN-EXCUSED MOMENT/SECOND (time) OF YOUR LIFE, AND EXPLAIN THE REASON FOR THE SAME”. Then, the whole world belongs to you only and every thing that exists on this, at the same time you fall under the category of ‘ACTUAL HUMAN BEING ’, which is greatest achievement in the life than any thing else" May God bless You and have a great time.

Good for you for setting up your own discussion sanctuary like this! It's great to be able to learn a little more about you and I commend you for the philosophies you've chosen to adhere too in your life. We appear to share many similarities on this front! I may not be anywhere near as vocal about them, but I do think along similar lines by the looks of it. Why did I come to your cottage? Well, I saw the title and I had already commented earlier today on a picture of a cottage you placed here, so I of course needed to see what the context of the discussion would be in relation to that. I'm not into card readings as such, but a nice cup of chamomile or jasmine tea would go down a treat!

-Hands James a lovely cup of Jasmine tea- I am probably a tad more vocal, but I do try to temper that with loving kindness. Though, I know that I can be a bit snippy at times when things are close to my heart. I suppose all of us have our passions that we will fight to the end about. I am very glad to call you a friend, and shall enjoy learning more from you. I have not seen the picture comment and will have to go take a look at it. I am very glad it enticed you to come for a visit, though. I shall try over the next few weeks to share a bit more, and hopefully create some threads that all of us can partake of and share in. I am so happy I listened to the advise and created a sanctuary, as you called it. It's a nice place. And seriously, one day I think I would love to have a cottage out in the woods away from all things, just with nature. Ok, maybe not quite as widdled down as Walden, I do need running water and electricity. Namaste-Anora

Welcome Pat! It's so nice to have you're friendship. -Hands her a lovely cup of Matcha, and puts out some shrubs and lichen for her llama-. I agree, I love finding out new things about people, and I definately enjoying viewing the world from a slightly new perspective. And I so enjoy homemade bread! I just made two loaves last week and am in need of picking up some more yeast. I'm planning a trip to the farmers market next week to pick up, hopefully, some fresh zuchinni for baked bread. Yummy. Have a wonderful Saturday. Namaste-Anora

Hi Anora! Thank you so much for the invite. I would love to have my cards read. I have never had that done before and I find it very interesting. The tea sounds great too. My chihuahuas will get along great with the llamas so I hope that you don't mind that they are in attendance. Nothing like a nice cup of tea and a chat with friends.

Tea is nice. I like most every kind of tea I have ever tried, especially the calming, relaxing type of teas that still allow for mental alertness. I have read several of your posts and responses and I greatly enjoy your views on life. I am looking forward to reading more and more about you. I do enjoy reading, I may have to have a walk through your library one day, bewarned, I have been known to turn off the world with a book open in my hands. I do tend to forget about the time that goes buy. Cheers. A concoction that destroy's negative thoughts would be wonderous.

CJ- It's a pleasure to have you for a visit and I look forward to getting to know you. Feel free to browse my library, I am very happy to share. May I suggest "The Calling" by Paul Strickland? If you like horror books. I am very happy to create something that shall help destroy negative thoughts. I shall send you an email later after some thought. Thank you again dear friend for stopping by. -Hands him a cup of Scarlet Cloud-. Namaste-Anora
