I have never had to diet before but since I had my son in 2006 it is just so hard to get the weight off. I am not fat but I just want to be smaller than I am. I weigh 143 and would like to be down to 120. I started 9 days ago and have done really well with it. I have been housesitting so I haven't gotten on the scales yet because I want to get on the scales at home to keep up with how much I lose. Even when I see my husband eating ice cream I don't break down and eat it with him. I did buy some of the skinny cow ice cream bars so I can have one of those every once in a while. I'm doing good drinking my water (I try for 6 to 8 glasses a day). I'm exercising and watching very carefully what I eat. I have joined a website where they give me meal plans and I do use the meal plans but I kinda mix them up and they give me 4 meals a day but I only eat 3 and you can have two snacks too that they tell you to eat. So, if you have ever been on a diet have you done well at it and lost the weight you wanted to lose? When I get back home from housesitting I will let everyone know how much I've lost.

I hope you can lose your weight soon but what helps it even faster is exercising, you don't need to go crazy for it like 2 hours running each day but 30 minutes bike ride or joggin or running @ day, you can see the result pretty quick I can tell you that, I startedc doing that since I turned 18 /19 years old, I have been keping myself in a good shape :-)

We walk about an hour each day if it's nice outside. If it's rainy or too cold we have a treadmill to walk on inside the house that we use.

Last year, I wasn't so much on a diet, as I was just trying to lose weight by exercise. I started doing the Tai-bo on Comcast On Demand. And I borrowed another exercise video from my sister. I lost a couple of pounds, but nothing serious. Then I started working on the outside of my house and stayed busy doing that while working a temp job last summer.
After that, in the fall, I started doing a lot of walking and exercising combined. I really had lost a lot of weight, without watching what I ate, by the time winter set in. I am trying to get back into the walking and workouts, because even though most of my body is still in shape, I would still like to work off this gut that I have accumulated over the past 7 or 8 years.

That taibo is hard. :-) I have been walking and my cousin just sent me a cd that you can listen to while walking and it tells you how far to walk and when to turn around and all. I just got it yesterday but I haven't listened to it yet. I think I'll try it on my afternoon walk today.

We should watch out diet since we should take care of our health. But we need also to eat meals that has balance diet. Exercising is a very good habit to shape up your body and not getting too fat. If you want to be healthy just eat a balance diet, not over eat, do exercises will makes you physically fit and mentally alert.

Me too, has start on diet, even though I'm not really good at following the rules of diet, but my friend told me that I look slimmer. It easy to follow diet if I can ignore the temptation, but it hard. My mind always work, just one time only, its ok. But I know its not ok. The harder part is exercising as I rarely exercise. I'm trying yoga, but it so hard. I want to lose 10 kg, and I don't know how much I ahve lost until now. Good luck to both of us on this dieting.

Good for you. Remember it took a while to put the weight on so it will take a while to take it off, slow and steady wins the race, so do not get discouraged. Fad diets do work in the short term, but long term you have to relearn how to eat healthy too. Good luck.

I've always eaten pretty healthy because my mom had heart problems when I was younger and still living at home so she started eating healthy and feeding us good too so I'm kinda used to it and I still eat that same way. I just watch my portion sizes now and exercise and make sure I get my water in each day.
