Referrals and payouts

I am trying to earn money online and I have always found that most programs require you to get referrals to make money in a timely fashion.I have got some referrals,not many,but they do not participate in the program.So,I do not earn very much money.
Someone told me that I need to sign up for a lot of programs and I did.But,I found that you have to be in everyone of the sites almost everyday.I was on the sites about 18 hours a day,7 days a week.And still did not make a good amount of money.partly because the amounts of the payouts are too high and also because the amount that they pay is not much at all.
Does anyone know of a way to make money online that pays more then a few cents for a hours of work and have to get referrals that also work for hours for me to make a measly $10 a month?

I know exactly what you mean. I have a hard time referring people to anything and when I do, they are never active enough to mount to a hill of beans. I make my best money with survey sites. They pay very well and not just pennies either. They pay $1.00 to $50.00 per survey. It fluctuates.

Actually I have four referrals in Mylot. However, they are not active at all. I learn to not to expect so much from my referrals. I have to depend on myself. Not everybody is interested in earning via the net. And some people are not patient to earn a few cents only.
