Friends i have come across some people who think that they are always right. That they have enough thought and intelligence to make the right decisions all the time. That they would never go wrong in what they do. I am not sure if this is just High handedeness or arrogance or simply a feeling of extreme confidence in themselves. But I find this attitude very irritating and hard to agree with....I have some close relatives who have such an attitude, where they think everything they and their family does is right and great. But they criticise others no end... Have you come across such an attitude among your close ones or friends? If so do you think it is right or do so or you feel that it is ok to have that attitude...Please share your views here...

Hi yougasini, thanks a lot for your views ! I think it gives a lot of grace when you are able to accept your mistakes, it is only when a person feels he/she is right every time that he/she falls in the eyes of other people ...all the best

Hi Kiran8, I know what you mean. My brothers wife's family is like that. She called me on the phone one time to ask me something. Then when I told her the answer she said she would have call her sister to see if what I said was right. I asked her why did you call me and not your sister. I can't stand people like that. When I'm wrong I will tell you I'm wrong. I hope I helped a little.

Hi sterra, Most people are like that ...there is a saying ' A thief always suspects others ', similarly a suspicious person is ever doubtful of others. We have to overlook such things in life and go on the way we think is right otherwise some people can make your life hell! all the best and happy mylotting

In my opinion, kiran, only a fool believes that he/she is right all the time. A person would have to be perfect to be right 100% of the time, and we all know that nobody is perfect. Furthermore, "right" is relative. It greatly depends upon who is calling the shots.

Hi worldwise, thanks a lot for your views I agree that 'right' is a relative term and largely depends on the circumstances - all the best and happy mylotting

Hi there, Well, we can't help them much, can we? We can still do two things with people of this ilk. Either we accept them for what they are, or smile them off. In the first case, you just say "Ok, it doesn't matter, if that is how they feel, let them do. Feelings are feelings, they are not facts and are highly volatile. What does it bother me?" In the second instance, you don't say anything. You just have a hearty laugh about the whole thing and render their ignorance a compassionate smile which should reach them as "God bless you, my child."

Hi, thats nice, I think it is always wiser to listen to different point of views before coming to any decision...But sometimes we tend to be impulsive and take hasty decisions thinking that we are doing the right thing, but it may not be so...All the best and have a great weekend

On the contrary Kiran, I think I am wrong most of the times. I have seen that most of us tend to have preconceptions about a lot many things which change a lot when we dig deeper. About relatives, well, my own mom is there who’s standards of expectations I have never been able to live up to. She was always criticizing me on everything …its only now when she sees me capable enough to manage my own home and office and child, that I do see some appreciation in her. Apart from that, I have come across people who know everything under the sun and are forever eager to give you their advise…not criticize really, but they’ll look at you in a very condescending manner and offer advise…no less irritating types, I’m sure you’ll agree. As for the criticizing types, I avoid them in most cases when I can, they just survive by criticizing others so no point in arguing with them over anything…it’ll just spoil your day!

I think we all tend to think we are mostly correct. But it is not the case always as I think. I try to look at my faults in any situation if there is any problems. As Human being I can't be always true.

Hi Kiran, I often meet people who think they know almost everything and I accept that it's just their way. Unfortunately the worst offended of this kind that I know is my dad and being 73 I doubt he'll ever change. It does cause some conflict, especially with my husband who is quite stubborn in his own way. In general though I can handle my dad when he comes out with his know it all attitude, but from what I understand from his family back in India, I'm the only one in the world who can get away with putting him straight LOL!

Hi mil, thanks a lot for your response. I too have seen many older people who are quite stubborn in their views. They tend to think that their age and experience make an authority on everything .It is so very difficult to deal with them....Have a great weekend mil

Well if one thinks that he/she is always rite then they are WRONG!!!One or the other day they are bound to do wrong things/steps.I also have come across with people having such attitude. When such type of person be came my friend then I taught a lesson.Just by asking him to do a wrong thing to do,which I made him believe that it was a good and rite thing to do.After that I proved the wrong thing that it is wrong.I know it is confusing, and that how it should be to prove the always rite people are wrong...It is also good to have this attitude at times,so that we can make our decisions quickly.

I am not one who feels that I am always right. I am wrong a great deal of the time, and I am not afraid to admit when I am wrong. I do know people like that though and I think that they are fooling themselves, or simply afraid to admit that they are only human. How boring would life be if everyone was right all of the time and no one ever made a mistake? To me, being wrong is not a bad thing, it just helps me learn the right way to do things.

I too have come across such people, that just my own sister. She is the one who thinks she is always right, she never makes mistake.I can never argue with her at all.She just makes her wrong statements right by fighting like a dog always.I cannot keep quralling with her so i just back out. But i hate such people who claim wrong things right only to make themselves important.

Hi Archie, Thanks a lot for your response. It is best to ignore such people who want to prove a point all the time. It is a waste of time arguing with them . I personally feel that it is a basic insecurity that makes them speak like that. All the best and happy mylotting

any which way the question is, my answer to that question would always be right. even "i don't know" is right because that is simply my perspective. the answer is always subjective. objective answers are an illusion. even science revises its data.

I hate to say it, but a lot of the times I do honestly think that I am right. But, I only make a big deal out of it when I think or know that I am right. if I think I might be wrong, Ill still put myself out there but I admit that Im not sure if I am right. I do know many people that cannot accept that they are wrong or that something they did or do isn't right. People like that drive me insane.

Thia ia a very good discussion Kiran. Most of the people around us alwyas think and try to prove that they do the right things and do them better than the others and try to blow their own trumpets too.It is a very sickening attitude this undermining and criticising others.Every one has the right to think that they have taken the right decision however bad it is.But they certainly donot have the right to criticise others. It is a bad attitude. As far as I am concerned I am confident that I take the right decisions. But it is purely a personal matter.

No, I don't think I am always right. Nobody can be always right. Everyone has some sort of deficiency. Whenevery anybody differs with me, I try to find out if she/he is right or I am right. I know to err is human. So, nobody should think that he/she is always right. Thank you for asking.

hi kiran, it is no doubt that no body can always make the right disision in any circumstances, beacause the people's horizon and knowledge are limited, which is applicable for me too,the ones who are wlways think they are right just ignore the truth when they make their decisions,or they think it lose their face when you point the mistakes in the wrong occasion, such as in public.so,i think if you chose the right methods and right time,it is alse possible for the self-centre guys to accept your reasonable advices, maybe you need a heart-to-heart talk. do you agree with my piont of view?

I don't think that I'm always right. No one should claim that he or she is always right because no one is perfect. Even Einstein wasn't always right, was he? But when I do believe that I'm right, I really fight for what I believe in. Even so, I still listen to other people's opinions because my mind is always open to the possibility that I may learn something from listening to others.

NO ,I don't believe some peoples would be always right. If that,he/she should be god ,not people. In our life, every people has all his/her own opinion, but we might not will be always right.the people is an animal with thoughts, our ability of judge would become more accurater with our experiences ,but no one can be always right!

Hi Kiran, i often encounter this kind of people in my daily life. And it isn't a denying truth that there really are this kind of extremely confident people. As soon as i find one belong to this group, of course, i will feel bad.And i will not treat him/her as my good friend and try to avoid these topics that can arouse disputes. More important, i will demand myself not to get angry by other's fault.Although this is quite difficult, it is worth tring. Coz each has his/her own character. As we can demand them to do abything, we have to demand us. Not be angry by other's faults. :)
