Are we back in the seventies??

I went into target today and the first think I saw was some of those 1970's long wildly colorful sun dresses. ack! The fabric and colors are wonderful but not for a dress! besides the fact that they are so long I would be tripping over them because I am only five feet tall and they are made for someone waaaaaaaaaaaaay over my head. I just don't like most of the things in fashion right now. maybe it's just that I'm forty something and not 'fashionable' enough?! what do you all think?

You know how things go in and out of style. It is probably a retro look that is popular right now, probably going into the store in the future you will find something completley differnt in the aisles. it just really depends on the time.

very true, snowy. another month from now there will be something else, that I may or may not like! who decides these things anyway? the fashion designers go 'I have another bright idea, let's bring those seventies mumus back again and see if we can get them to buy it.' sigh, well it's not like they would listen to what little old me has to say about it. since they only care about the moola they will make on their bright ideas. grin.

I love dresses.I love colorful dresses in bold prints.it doesn't matter if it's the 70's or 80's.as long as the dress is lovely and fits me well,I'll wear it.

I don't find a lot of 70's fashions very pleasant to look at either! I don't understand why anyone then or now could find them attractive. That's my taste maybe but I know a few people who share it.

Are you talking about the maxi dress trend? I've seen those, I think they look nice but only on people with a tall frame. They do have some solid patterns that are not as colorful or bright. Maybe you could pair that dress with heels or hem the bottom of the dress? It would probably fit better...
