Hey friends, I'm really starting to get tired of washing dishes at home but what can I do? I'm the only female in the house and the dishes has got to be done because I can't live with it otherwise so what can I do but wash them? Anybody else out there ever get tired of washing dishes? When I first put my hands in the warm dish water it feels kind of nice but afterward I feel like, oh God I don't want my hands to look all dry and wrinkly. I know that I could use gloves but I have always enjoyed being able to touch the dishes with my own hands and I don't like to put my hands inside of gloves. So that is no solution. Anyhow what kind of thoughts are you thinking while you are doing dishes? Im always trying to have good thoughts and so this was a way of venting. It's a real battle for me you guys because I just wished that somebody would come up with a robot other method so that we could all have clean dishes without the hard labor. Got a dish washer but it seems to be only a dish rinser. Let's chat about it! Happpy mylot!

Does it matter that you are the only female in the house? My partner does the washing up and much of the housework that I dont get round to doing we spilt everything! There are dishwashers but it seems you have tried that alternative! Hmm... maybe you need to get a new man lol!

Dishwashing........ Hey Angelsmummy, your idea don't sound too bad. You are right everything should be slit down the middle fifty fifty but then he'd find something else to complain about. So what good would it do in the long run? Happy mylot!Being the only female in the house basically means that the guys are only going to do so much. It's just their make up.........

(For all you men that might be reading this I am not sexist I am going through my second hard pregnancy with 9 days left until my due date and getting very hormonal!)

Not only am I tired of washing dishes, but I'm tired of the laundry, the floors, the dusting, the yard work, the TRASH, and basically every other darn chore there is. I have a lot of children and I'm sorry to be so rude but they are freaking SLOBS!!! I awoke this morning to sour cream being flung all over the kitchen. I am NOT a happy camper right now. I do not understand what the heck they are thinking. I can't even go to SLEEP! But it's child abuse to lock them in their rooms...ha. I'm about to run away, wanna come with me? ;-)

Lols, Family, what would we do without them? We can't just pack a bag and leave them but it sure would be nice to do that for a few days. I tell mine one of these days I'm going to take a real vacation. Even if I don't do nothing but go to a nearby motel. Stay there and eat as much as I want and I might even have a few burners just to help me chill out. Happy mylot! You'd be welcome to join me if you'd like, Party for girls only!

Yes sometimes I also feel that. I'm tired to washing dishes and no one really to care to wash them even if they don't do anything in the house. I don't want them left in the sink unwashed because it can attracts cockroach. Sometimes I'm complained with my siblings and my parents that they should wash the dishes after meals and don't left it there at night. Dishwasher is not common here we usually do it manually.

I don't like washing dishes, too. Perhaps it is the most housework that I hate to do most. To be fair, my husband and I will wash dishes in turn. Such as I will wash dishes this week and then he shall wash dishes next week. I think it is not right for you to wash dishes all by yourself. Other family member shall share it with you. I love China

Dawn makes a really nice dish washing liquid specifically designed to help keep hands lovely. I like that when I wash dishes but i usually use dawn with bleach alternative for deep cleaning. It really depends on my mood but usually I wash dishes not too much later after using them. When I do have to let them stack up, it can become a pain to wash but i try to play some nice music or something to help the time past.

I hear that and I might just try the music thing in the morning, in the meantime my dishes will be sitting up soaking. Since I'm the only one that is really doing them, luckily I can do them whenever I get ready to. I use dawn and i usually try not to make it a habit of letting them sit overnite to soak because I wouldn't want to create a worst problem if you know what I mean!!! Happy mylot PS: Please add me as a friend! Thanks in advance.......ttylGood nite all!

The dishes are my arch enemy of housework. Scrubbing them and rinsing them and having to touch the bits of food that are stuck to them just makes me sick to my stomach. This isn't a pleasant task to me at all. I wish I could get my husband to do the dishes, but everytime that I tell him it is his turn, they just sit there until I get so sick of them that I end up washing them myself. I wish there was an easier way to do it. Yes, we have a dishwasher but the one that we are currently using is an older portable and I'm not really fond of it. We have one to be installed into our kitchen but that hasn't happened yet.

Washing dishes......... Oh dorannmwin, How I can fully relate to what you are saying. It seems that certain mean that were born like back in the 50's and above feel like it's a woman's job to do the dishes. Unfortunately it sounds like you and I might have gotten stuck with this kind. If they do finally break down and do them, better watch out because everybody in the household will surely know about it and maybe even your neighbors too. That's the reason I'd rather just do them myself. Happy mylot!

Dishes are the bain of my existance. I keep thinking that I should just switch my household over to paper plates and stuff that I can just throw out after every meal. We already use plastic utensils on a regular basis. I'm just so tired of hunting around for forks and spoons. A majority of mine got brought to school in a lunch and never returned. I figure it's worth the extra $2 a month to just keep buying plastic. Eventually, I may end up using it for everything on a daily basis. Now if only they'd come up with disposable pots and pans I'd have it made.

Dish wasing,,,,,,,,,,, Sure they'll come up with something like that soon. They already got tv dinners which makes it kind of nice if we are in a hurry and don't have time to cook. I tried a few of the dinners and they aren't too bad in a pinch but I would much rather have a nice tasty home cooked meal any day of the week. Yeah i already am starting to see disposable pots and pans coming out as the next biggest thing to hit the market, I hope. Happy mylot!

This is actually funny, you know, although I know it is not meant to be. You say that you don't want your hands to feel awful, but you have chosen rather to suffer than to wear gloves. And OMG, you're complaining that "oh God I don't want my hands to look all dry and wrinkly." Who is to be blamed for this craziness? Take my word, go wear your gloves and start washing dishes even if you hate it - I'm sure you'll get it done as it is no herculean task; when you are finished with it, I bet you'll come back to thank me!

Thank you my friend, I am going to start wearing the gloves, just maybe it will help the situation out some. God knew that I hated washing dishes and he's known it for quite some time. So much so that he gave me a dishwasher to help me out. But as I stated before the dishwasher is slowly becoming a dish rinser. Anyhow I will put on the gloves and praise God through the process. Mind you I've been washing dishes almost all of my life so it's nothing really crazy about it. There are some chores around the house that I really don't mind. But washing dishes don't happen to be one of them. But then again, I'd rather wash dishes any day compared to having to clean toilets. Happy mylot!

I hate dishes too but my boyfriend helps me out a lot I must say. When it comes to cleaning he is king. He helps me so much and for that I am forever greatful. I am a very unorganized person and I think that is why we compliment each other. Although he does not have a permenat job he helps so much around the house it really does not matter to me. I have a suggestion for you maybe you could rent to own a dishwasher that way you are getting a break from really doing the dishes. If that is not something you can do I think every other day someone in your family should do the dishes. I believe men can wash dishes just as much as a women can. Take care and I hope this helps. Happy mylotting as well.

washing dishes.......... Thanks for the tips Momtrying2makeit. I appreciate your sympathy with my situation. I really can't afford to rent a dishwasher. And will probably put a few of my helpers to work around here as far as helping me out. You are truly blessed to have your bf come in and do the dishes for you. I believe that men should help but so many of them in this day and age seems to want to do as little as possible. Oh well, I guess that's just the way it is sometimes. Take care and have a great evening.

Dishing washing............ Thanks for your advice ckyera, i can surely relate to what you saying when you say that you get tired of standing for so long to wash those dishes up. Luckily you do have someone to help you out over there. I have two of my own and I was trying to go easy on them by sparing them the chore of having to do dishes but when they walk around and have no pity on Mom, well let's just say that there are going to be some changes taking place in the near future over here in our household. Usually we have chores that the boys do and those that the females do. But dish washing can and should go either or. Although I know my hubby would love it if it remained a traditional female sort of chore. Thanks for the tips. Please add me as a friend, Happy mylot!

I used to have a dishwasher. In fact, I just about grew up with one. The last one I had quit working on me several months ago. I can't afford a new one so I just wash mine by hand now. To me, it's like going back to the days of "Little House On The Prairie", lol, before there was any such thing as a dishwasher. I have a very sensitive skin so I use Dermasaage detergent. The warm water sometimes helps my sore wrists feel better. Sometimes I will sing while I'm doing the dishes. I like to time myself, too, to see how long it takes me to get them done. Kathy.

You are right. A dishwasher doesn't always get the dishes very clean. I used to always go over them before putting them in the dishwasher. Kathy.

I wash dishes almost everyday at least once. I don't do much cooking, so i don't mind cleaning up afterwards. Firstly i think you should get one of the better quality dish washing soap. There's a huge difference, between good and bad soap. If that doesn't help, then put a lotion or cream near the area, so that when you finished washing dishes you'll notice the lotion and put on some. I used to get this bad feeling when i was dishes, it was dreaded chore but now i put on some music, or listen to my ipod, its fine. doesn't bother me much. Its just something we have to do, so don't let it bother you too much.

I used to wash dishes all of the time until I moved into my new place and it came with a dishwasher. I have gotten so spoiled that when my dishwasher broke down I thought I was going to go into cardiac arrest because I had to do dishes again by hand until my landlord sent out a repairman. I took over 2 weeks of handwashing before I got my dishwasher back. You never know just how you take things for granted until you have to go without and revert back to old ways.

There are days when I don't feel like doing them. We have a dishwasher but it doesn't work and I really don't like to use it anyways. I'd prefer to just do them by hand and get them over with. I've been doing dishes since I was 10 years old so it's not a big deal anymore...I just get bored doing them sometimes. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

Hello, washing dishes is never ending. I try to remember how many calories I am burning while washing dishes. Not only washing dishes but doing other house work burn calories. That's my way of thinking, I am doing something positive instead of just only chores.

Hello Citychic, We are lucky in a way that we have a maid that comes twice a day and cleans up all the dishes. Even when she wasn't there, I have my mother who is really dedicated to doing all the household work as well. Thus, we don't have a problem there. I heard that a dish washer has already been launched in the market but I've never seen it at anyone's home so I guess it's not so popular yet.I really hope you can cope up with the pressure in the best frame of mind. I suggest you don't let too many of them accumulate and do them in two or three installments during the entire day. That ways you might feel less sad. Cheers!

Hi citychic, I am also really very tired or washing the dishes, but my husband and children to give a helping hand sometimes. I really sometimes get irritated while cleaning the dish. I never wait till a load gets accumulated and wash many a times in a day.

The secret is to "train" the others at home. Or "handle" them. Some would call it manipulation. I say - whatever works -to get to avoid work. Remember Tom Sawyer and the story of getting the fence painted? If you can provide the others (read: susceptible non-females) at home with enough motivation - kind of like offering a dog a bone - they will be fighting to do the dishes. And you, Citychic, can have the softest, unwrinkled hands that you want. What do you think of that?
