purchasing gift cards online??

Have you ever purchased gift cards online?? I never have...and I have seen many ads for it lately. I was curious as to if they have a charge for this or how soon you would get the card?? I mean I can go to any Walgreens, Kmart, even my grocery store has the little set up displays were you can buy them right there and have them instantly --especially since they are usually gifts for someone else. Do you get your gift cards online?? What stores do you normally get a gift card for... are they for you or are they gifts for others??

i get my gift cards at the dollar store there are 2 for 1.00 i have got them at walmarts too i have made some of mine.

actually I was talking about the visa/money type gift cards, not the greeting cards... but I have gotten those from dollar stores too.. they have some great ones by me--and the price cant be beat!!! thanks for the response and happy mylotting.

No I have not. I have thought about bidding on some on ebay but they get a little high for me to pay what they are asking. I have wanted to buy gift cards on craigslist as well but never found a good enough deal or a card for a store that I wanted to buy. But however I have won gift cards online and I have sold them as well. I guess it just depends on what it is and if I need it or not. I didnt know you could bid on them on ebay...that is new to me, you really do learn something new everyday!! thats cool that you won some... and hey to be able to sell them and make money off them is a great way to make extra money!! thanks for the response and have a great night!

I have ordered gift cards online at christmas....my daughter like a certain petite store and I also got them gift cards to a local restaurant where they like to go for dinner....so......usually they are for others.

I have never get or send a card online. I am not interested to use them. I am pleased to send goods as gifts, give gifts from the card.

I got an email yesterday about getting a $50.00 gift card from Burger King. I typed in my name and email address. Then, they wanted to sign up for a bunch of offers. I said to myself, "Forget it"!. I have also had offers to get a free gift card from Walmart, Home Depot, etc. with the same result. No, I never hav gotten one online. Kathy.

oh yeah, those ones I never fall for... I have come across some where you actually purchase the online gift cards and that caught my attention...not that I want to purchase them online, since I can go into a store and get them myself and have them in my hand and a receipt that has proof of how much is on there... I am kind of leary about the online purchase ones. I have received gift cards from 2 sites so far... my squishy cash, and mypoints... for those ones are great because they dont cost me anything but my time online!!! thanks for the response and have a great day!
