I have heard that you get some US shows there but they play several weeks after we see them. Do you like to watch these shows? Are they similar to what Aussie/New Zealand shows? What do you like to watch and how are your shows different? Does your country watch as much tv as we do? I'm just curious what people in other countries do or watch. thanks for indulging my curiousity.

In Australia, we DEFINITELY get a lot of US TV. In fact, I'd say that about 70% of our TV is American and almost all primetime are your TV dramas. We have our own versions of your reality TV shows, but sometimes also broadcast your versions. For example, we have our own 'Biggest Loser', but also broadcast 'Biggest Loser US'. Same goes for So You Think You Can Dance?, although that has recently been shunted to a later timeslot of 10:30pm...don't think it was getting as many viewers as the network hoped.

thanks for answering elenyae. I was beginning to think no one would. I wonder why they do that. I'm sure australians can come up with their own shows. and do you watch as much tv as we do? they say that the average american watches six to eight hours a day.
