Have You Gained or Lost Weight This Summer?

Every summer I try to lose weight it seems. I realize I only pick the summer because that is the time where I am usually not nearly as busy. Although, this summer has been a rather busy summer and I have not been at all successful. Rather than losing weight, I have gained weight. However, I was looking at the before photos I took and I think I might look slightly better than before. But at the very least, I feel better! Well, overall at least. Last summer I tried swimming and I didn't lose a pound and didn't even feel more in shape. This summer I went with running and I definitely feel like I'm in better shape now than I was at the beginning of the summer. I still feel like I could end up losing weight by the end of summer. Hopefully I'll at least feel good enough about the summer to finally take an after picture this year.

as much as i want to gain but i lose more weight i believe. i work at night and it's still hard for my to eat three times a day as i wake up (happens to be around 11pm) i don't have an appetite. coffee is the only thing that i can take. i don't eat breakfast before but the difference is i'm working so it kind of add up to me losing a lot of weight since.

Oh that would be pretty hard. I don't think I would be able to eat as much if my schedule was flipped. It seems like people who want to gain weight will lose weight. Maybe I should trick my brain into thinking I want to gain weight.

I'm in shape, round! I never try to lose weight ,during the summer or any other time. I have lost weight though . Most of my clothes are loose and big. I didn't try to lose but I have in the past few years. All I can assume is working hard and eating less and less often helped. I think you didn't lose weight but you have gained muscle. With all the running you have a more toned body.I am glad you found running. You really seem to enjoy it.Did you get more of those special socks?

I still haven't gotten more of those socks since I'm back to running only one day a week to avoid hurting my ankles. But I think I will just order more online since I see them on eBay in a variety of colors. I'm glad I found running too. I never thought I would enjoy it before. But now all of the sudden I love running and I am totally addicted. It is hard to love it when you're not in shape at first, and even though I'm still not in shape, now that I'm in good enough shape to run 3 miles straight without too much difficulty, it is more enjoyable. Definitely good to have loose fitting clothes whether you're trying to lose weight or not!

LOL! I have a funny story for you then about an ex-girlfriend. Once my ex was losing a bunch of weight but couldn't afford new clothes at the time. She wasn't as smart as you, she didn't wear a belt at first. So she's going to get coffee across the street from her work, and normally she pulls her pants up periodically so they don't actually fall off. But she was running late and just ran in to pick up the coffee and bam... pants on the ground! The worst part was, her work was directly across the street from the coffee shop and everyone saw through the glass. So she walks in, and everyone is just snickering. So she has to tell them the embarrassing story to break the ice. It was so funny though! So the moral of the story is... always wear a belt when wearing loose fitting pants. ;)

To be abale to run 3 miles sounds like being in shape to me. Ther are loose fitting clothes and then there are clothes so big they fall off. I can't wear any of my jeans with a belt or they fall off me!I am not bragging believe or not, I am a little sad. I love my jeans!

You have probably added muscles, and they weigh more than fat does. I bet you look and feel better. I have not tried to gain or lose. I am about the same, but I really should have worked on losing as it would benefit my overall health. Congratulations on sticking to a summer of running.

Thanks! Yes, I definitely feel better. I probably have gained some muscle in my legs at least. But the main thing I want is to look and feel better, rather than to worry about numbers on a scale.

well, remember, muscles weigh more than fat, so you might not have lost weight, but you could've lost inches

I still haven't lost any inches either. But I do feel more toned. I might have gained inches in my calves, but I didn't measure there. I'm going to start doing some more abdominal exercises soon and then hopefully I can lose this waistline and get some good core muscles for running too.

I have actually lost a lot of weight this summer since I got gastric bypass surgury on june 1st. I have lost more then 40lbs since. This has been the most weight I have lost in my entire life and im so glad I got that surgury now even though it was very tough at first but well worth it.

Aw! Hey, that was only 7 months ago, so I'm sure you'll get your body back soon. I can't seem to lose weight in my belly though and I haven't even had one kid yet!

I have lost more than 10 pounds since this summer just because I have changed my eating habit and don't eat as much as I used to eat, not because I do it on purpose. And I donn't get fat at all plus I do regular exercises like walking my dog, biking and stuff so I can always keep myself in a pretty good shape.

Congrats on the weight loss! I think if I had a dog I'd really be outside a lot. I don't know what could motivate me to eat less though.
