Have you ever passed out?

I woke up this morning and when I got out of bed felt very, very light-headed. Next thing I know I was laying on my floor with a gash on my knee. I had passed out and fallen over and cut my knee in the process. Do you know what could've caused me to pass out? Have you ever passed out before? Did you get injured?

I one time fainted due to heat exhaustion. I could feel the blood being "released" from my face like I'd just had a scare or something. Next thing I knew, I was on the floor, and my ears were ringing. All I really got from that was a nasty bruise on the upper part of my left arm, but it was not a fun experience.

I have felt woozy many times but I have never passed out. It is usually caused by low blood sugar or low blood pressure. I would certainly go to the doctor and have a physical exam. Actually, people with low blood pressure live longer than people with high blood pressure so it can be a good thing. However, your symptoms can be from some sort of controllable disease like a slow heartbeat, diabetes, or even poor dietary habits.

Yes, I did once after having my blood drawn and not eating at a Planned Parenthood clinic once. When I finally "came to", they gave me pretzels and orange juice lol. I think I was having my cholesterol checked that day or something. Anyway, thats the only time I've ever done that and I think it was because I hadn't eaten, I had to fast for it.

i passed out once in the shower. my vision started to tunnel and then i remember looking down at the bottom of the tub just being able to see my toes. then i came to on tub floor with my head against the shower doors. had a bump on my noggin, that was it luckily. id had a pretty bad sinus infection and it was putting so much pressure on my eardrums that when the doctor looked in my ears, instead of my eardrums being a pale opaque they were almost black! yeah lol i was sick and i went boom!

Wow, a shower must be one of the worst places to pass out! Very, very slippery! Thank goodness you didn't get hurt too bad!

I have not passed out yet! Hahha. Passing out is probably going to happen to everyone at least once in their lives, my turn is probably next one day. I wonder how did you pass out? You cut your knee on the edge of a table? fell on a knife? Well, I hope you felt okay and wasn't hurt that bad.

I cut my knee when I fell and it scraped on a piece of wooden molding against the botton of my wall. I passed out because I got out of bed and stood up too quickly and the blood didn't have time to flow into my head. So I was knocked out within a few seconds

Nope, I have never passed out before. There are times when I felt like I was going to pass out. Like when its really hot outside and I get all sweaty and my head hurts. If I did pass out, I would likely get injured.

Are you alright now? Passing out is a scary feeling. I passed out once after I gave blood. It was my second time so i thought I was going to be alright but I still forgot I haven't eaten anything the whole day. I was shopping with my friend later and felt dizzy. Next thing I know I can't see anything and was on the ground. Someone passing by bought me some juice so I could get some sugar in my blood. I didn't get hurt but it was very scary. I hope your kneel heals soon.

Yes, I feel fine now, I did some research and the term for my incident is called, "orthostatic hypotension." It occurs when a person suddenly stands up after long periods of laying down which causes a steep drop in blood pressure. Which in turn results in fainting or passing out. Thanks again for your concern! :)

hi madbomber oh yes I had the flu with bronchitis a number of years ago. I got up in the middle of the night, and started to cough and cough. I crumpled to the floor, passed clear out and saw a dark tunnel then a golden light,I went toward the light and my mom was there, standing before me was Christ with the golden light around him, he took my hand and my moms, then softly he said, no go back my dear its not time yet, and then the light and the tunnel were gone and my husband was sitting me up on the floor. He told me i had fainted during the coughing spell. He told me I had a nasty knot on the side of my head,we ended up seeing my doctor who made me go home with a ton of prescriptons and told me stay in bed, lots of fluids, take your antibiotics, if you do this again we will have to hospitalize you. your diabetes is completely out of control too, Then in the doctors office I had another coughing spell and passed out, I woke up in an oxygen tent in a private room in the hospital. I had never got the chance to go home.sob sob.

Yes, at home, at school, college and 3 different work places. Some of them were due to sickness bugs and others to the heat, lack of food, low blood pressure and possibly stress. Getting up from a lying position too quickly can cause it too. Fortunately, I've never really hurt myself beyond a bit of bruising. I do know someone who passed out at the topof the stairs and landed in a heap at the bottom. He suffered friction burns down his back but was lucky not to have broken his neck.

If only I could do it elegantly, like a 'damsel in distress'... & I'm even past the stage where they fight to loosen my clothing now The stairs fainter considers himself very lucky not to have been seriously injured.

Once I passed out during a soccer match of Ajax Amsterdam. It's not good fun to sit on a seat with a bloody defibrillator and heart machine next to you. ( Not that they used it for me but hell it's creepy) Oh well... it was too hot and I drank and ate nothing. Perhaps you stood up a bit too fast and your brains didn't receive enough blood causing you to pass out.

I was told that i was hit by a car, actually it's not really bad, maybe because i'm too tired, small impact from the car bumper did effect me since i have soo little sleep that nite.

What a scary thought, I have high blood pressure so one time while I was at work, I went for a break and ate something out of one of the vending machines, got up and realized the room was spinning, so I sat down and said to myself o.k how are you going to do this, so I got up held onto the wall/chair what ever I could i knew if I let go I was going down, so I did this till I got to the phone called the floor I was working on and asked one of the aides to come and assist me, he helped me and when I got up stairs I drank a picture full of water to flush out the salt I had taken in and I was o.k, thank god it never happened again, but I watch my salt intake to make sure it does not happen, let me correct myself not only do I watch it, I don't use it.

Almost I must say. But that what so many years ago when I was still in high school. I had my first migraine attack while attending mass. I was feeling terrible that I had to leave the church and get myself to our car. Fortunately, I got myself to our car before I started passing out.

Hi, mad0mber77. I did pass out one time when I was at church. My pastor was touching my forehead and I went down. I could still feel and hear the atmosphere around me. But, my body would not let me move. I have never really passed out for any other reason. I am not sure what caused you to pass out. Maybe being light-headed caused you to pass out. I am not sure what could be wrong. It is best to get into contact with a doctor. They could tell you what is wrong. I have never been injured after I passed out. I hope that you will be okay.

I have passed out before when i was in high school, we were assembling in the uncovered ground, I was having my monthly period, I felt so weak and tired especailly standing the sun for more than 20 minutes while I was losing my blood, I finally fell down on the floor... it was not fun because I felt so awful...

No, i never experience it feeling like a blackout or totally unaware. maybe i feel dizzy but not really pass out. I saw someone get dizzy and so lucky her classmates grab her before she hit the cemented ground..Then, they brough her to the schools clinic and then slightly damp her nose from a small cloth ammonia.,to help her awake..

I wanted to become a blod donor once, simply because i have a less common blodtype. I got tapped the first time and passed out straightly afterwards because my blodpercentage was to low. Its a common thing for women to have a lower blodpercentage, and therfore more chances of passing out, or that the vision seems to go black in a few seconds where you feel dissy. Eat iron-vitamins, or food containing more iron, such as raisins, spinage and brocolli are good examples.

hi madbomber i have to say i once had something very similar to that... i got up from bed and stood up and suddenly out of nowhere i felt dizzy and very light headed, and i don't remember myself falling, i woke up after a few minutes and luckily i didn't hurt myself in the process, i too don't know how that happened and that was quiet a long time ago... i don't think it is something very serious unless it keeps on happening frequently so take care... i sometimes have that "light headed" attack but now i have learned how to control it... i just stand still and hold onto to something, just don't move and that feeling just passes away, these attacks are very rare and i wonder what causes them, it has been really very long time since i had one such attack and i have not shown this problem to the doctor, just hope there is nothing very serious maybe i hadn't eaten up sufficiently, anyways just take care and do go to your doc if it happens much more frequently coz there can be several reasons that could be happening... have a nice day madbomber...

Nope...I haven't experience passing out or fainting...:D hmmm... maybe because you lack sleep or your body and mind are really tired that's why you passed out...:D
