I have had this broadband service for almost 3months now... and it had given me nothing but misery... I swear misery!... I have had the service activated june 7 2009. It is a bundle package with phone and internet... My plan was 1mbps, unlimited phone calling, free email. Yet from the first day the email the provided to me is not working... not even using the webmail or my outlook...so I complained from that very day... 2md day I did a speed test finding out that the speed I am getitng is only 200-500kbps.. and they said I am only supposed to get 60% of the speed... I said..WHAT??? I only have one computer... its wired connection and I dont even have my firewall up... 2nd the router doesn;t have built in anto virus so why am I supposed to have a slow connection... SO from that 2nd week I am already escalated to their tier 2 who calls me up every 11am to check if my connections are better... they tried sending out technicians that are always late... (appointment is 11am and they eill be here at 5-6pm) and worst is the technician doesn't even know how to get my ip address!!!! I even tought him how! he run a speed test which is not my IP address so he was shocked that I know its not my speed he is running... No technician ever came back... so I have asked my account to be cancelled and have no cancelation fee since its there service that sucks... but another stupid agent cancelled my account and activated it with new phone number without informing me/... and now it hs been 2months and they havent cancelled my account yet... My internet and phone would work for a day and would not work for the next 3-4 days... I havent paid my last months bill so they would cut it off/.. but it is still working! How about you have you had the worst service ever from your internet provider???

good for him I guess... I am in MAKATI area and most of the business here that uses globe is closing. I work in a BPO and before our company is using globe as ISP and after 3 months they cancelled subscription with globe and transfered to smart instead. REASON behind... we have 1/2 of that 3months having problem with our internet connection, speed and more... sometimes our voip wont work well too

I'm really sorry to hear that from you if you're not getting the service you deserve from Globe. What I can suggest from you is immediately ask for follow up from these guys and as a consumer, you should have the rights to ask for such concession or credit for the number of days that you havent used via service well. Otherwise, you may want to terminate your services with them but you've mentioned that you purchased it as bundle with your phone, is there any contracts binded? Also, try to subscribe with Sun Cellular, they do have broadband service too or shift to Smart Bro. It is better to try the services for the broadband from the latter if you have friends using these just to make sure that the reception an connection is good just like what I did.

They have given me a month credit full last month but the credit doesn't do me good since all bills we pay a month in advance... (by law)...I have tried sun and pldt dsl was my brother's provider and they are both fine...I have requested the service to be cancelled and yet instead of cancelling the company changed my account number, phone number and service package to a different one... without my knowledge.. I have asked it cancelled last july 10... Now I got this new number that was recently owned by a guy named DON and there are people calling asking me to have him pay his debt... AND I DONT KNOW this guy.. I found out that the number was from an old subscriber who cancelled 3days ago before I got it....

Wow. They're using now here in Pinas the system used in the US for Pay in Advance. Well, I'm working in the BPO industry and that Pay in Advance system is a big time strategy! Sun Broadband is really fast, most of the time I get a speed of 3.2 mbps for download and around 800 kbps for the upload. Sun's coverage is not that good through out and usually they have better reception in major cities rather than the provinces or rural areas compared with Globe and Smart. For me, I dont need to subscribe for broadband or for dsl services for my computer since I'm just using my phone to access the web - UNLIMITED and FREE, that's ZERO LOAD. Lol. I also use my phone as a modem and again, no need to add funds through load. I can connect to the internet without spending any money, just for extra batteries. Lol

It's a real shame that you are having those problems! I don't have any experience with Globe but I am with AOL and I can tell you that I am very happy with them. I have not experienced any problems and my Internet connection is pretty fast. I would definitely recommend them if you are looking to change your Internet Service Provider. I personally would give them up and start fresh with another Internet provider, good luck. Andrew

Sorry to hear your misfortune. I am not really satisfied with Globe services ever since we are using Globelines for so long. Even if we keep on calling to disconnect their service for three way calling, it took them one year to cancel that and the worst part we endured was paying that nonsense feature. Anyway going back to your sentiments regarding their internet plan package, well it goes the same way too. I will never be surprised anymore to Globe and their pathetic service. If I were you, you better switch to another company like SmartBro for instance, in their internet service. But also try to figure out other companies services that will be much more favorable to you. Sad to say that you won't even get refunds for that days that you haven't used surfing up the net.

Luckily they gave me a month credit for last month but it seems useless since I paid in advance.. as there rule and as stated in our lousy law... But thats only up to aug 7 and I have asked for the service to be cancelled since july 7... I hope it wont take 1 year cause I am not paying any with the bill for this month... I had enough of them... they service internet and yet not even their engineers know anything about internet not even how to search for IP address.

Well I am also a GLOBE subscriber. Early this august I am experiencing a no signal during day time. I called their hotline and said that they were having a restoration. After a week or 2, it's back to normal and great speed as ever...

That reason why your service was out was because of a certain cable they are saying that was cut off... Anyways it is good that your globe is still working fine. Up to now since I posted this discussion My globe is still not cancelled they told me not to pay the next bill since on their system it shows that I have requested for the service to be cancelled since july 27... I am expecting a bill next month and I am surely not going to pay anything.

I am also using Globe broadband service but so far the service is good. I have subscribe for only 384kbps but I'm satisfied with the speed. I hope I will not encounter what you did. Have you tried switching to other internet service provider to be able to compare the service and performance?

Yes I have.. right now even if I still have this globe... I am already with SUN wireless broadband... I have the USB for 1 month now and its fast... its weird because last week me and my husband went to zambales and it was raininfg...I was thinking that sun's signal wont reach that far but I was still able to connect... It was great... My brother have PLDT dsl and they were able to even set it up with wireless router... It was also fast there are 4 computers at my brothers house and yet when I visit and try to access the wifi as well..it is still fast... and my brother said they only have the lowest speed plan... I swear sun and pldt is fast I can have my farm at fb harvested or plowed fast.. I can even upload pic and download stuff faster that with globe.

hmm, well i think you have a bad experice with your ISP. even i faced such problems. i think it is better if you can change it and then forget about it. i know its a lot of money also. but then it is better to have a good connection rather than paying ofr a sucking one. and it is very irritating if the net connection is not working. i have a very good connection now and i am very happy with the speed and the uptime of it.

I think globe broadband really sucks! coz i am currently using it now and huh! my updates on antivirus always disconnected. I was so unlucky to have this trash and yet it billed automatically. I am trying to figure now which one has the best connection in terms of wireless connection. As for your problem, no to wireless this time i guess. If dsl could do, maybe that one would be the best.

I experienced the same problem with SMART communications. I had my Smart bro connected last Year, August 2008. For 3 months it worked fine, but on the 4th month (December) it suddenly didn't work. I paid my bills because I thought I missed doing so, but still nothing happened. It went off on the 24th so I just thought it was only a Christmas Connection sickness that every Communication companies are dealing with. I called the SMART Customer Hotline and they told me that their base station is currently under repair so i waited. One week, no connection still. I called the hotline again, and I talked to the agent named Gordon. The guy made me wait for about 15 minuits on hold and when he got back, he forgot to turn the MUTE button on. I heard the guy saying, "Abi, may call ka? tingnan mo nga tong PUNYETANG TO dalawa IP address nya" then he turned the mute button on. When he got back to me I told him why is he cursing customers? He just kept talking about the "base station" thing. I let it pass for about 2 months, I'm still not getting anything. They keeps sending bills even if Im not getting any service. They said that I could get a rebait for the months of no connection. I did not pay the bills and on the 4th month, still no connection, I received a letter from their lawyer saying that I have to pay P11,988 or else I will be blacklisted to all Communication companies. How terrible is that... I talked to one of their agents again, in person and he told me that its ok not to pay the bills because its the Company's fault and I have wasted time, and effort for that damn thing. I just ignored the letter from the lawyer.

I hope this wont happen to me.... cause this is what they are saying to me now... I wont want any letter from a collections company as I firmly say everytime I call them that I want it cancelled... D*** F*** this companies messing our lives... I dont want any bad credit record as I know even if we are in the philippines this can hunt my credit records.

Hi there, well this is my second ISP already. My first was PLDT well i can say that i dont have encounter such problems as yours but sometimes i do have low connection especially when i am sending videos on ym. Now i decided to have cable one from CAT V to lessen my payment. Unlike in PLDT that i am paying for the landline and i dont really use it so waste of money. Now i have my internet through cable and i can watch my favorite tv shows. So far for 5 months (i guess) i dont have any major problems just a low connection (but not always) and it just takes for a few minutes then back to normal speed. So i am happy with my my ISP now, i only have 384 kbps. ANyway, let me add that my brother was having a small internet cafe in his home. He was using also Globe and the bad thing is that it doesnt works properly. I mean the connection was good from the start but after a month or two, my brother encountered problem and he hates his ISP. Now his cafe was not working that much so he was planning to get a cable like me. Anyway, hope you will find a good ISP, goodluck and keep on mylotting

Sorry to hear about this. I've heard the same thing as well from a friend, which is why I decided not to buy it. I am thinking of buying smartbro instead because she says it is far more reliable than globe's. hope everything will turn out better for you though. good luck!

I am using Globe but so far in our year of service provider there hasn't been any major problem like that. i guess it has something to do with the location of the area. they're signal is not always strong on all areas. in my experience years ago, smart was the big problem because it took them months before they could put the internet stable connection because they didn't have signal there. ever tried suing them? that's not fair i think.

I would love tosue them... remember the case raised by one of the senetors regarding loads vanishing from globe soon to find out that the NTC has no ruling against it... Its the same with the broadband... there is no ruling to it. I will be only wasting my money if I sue them...specially justice in this country is served slow and mostly to the richer end. By the way you know that load extension... smart, sun, and talk and text have already extended load validity but globe and t-mobile havent.

I'm with Roadrunner, not much choice, even Verizon is not sure if the have DSL here or not some say yes and some say no. Service is pretty good, better then dial up anyways; but have switched the phone service from Verizon to time Warner so no Cable no internet and no phone. But atleast for the phone I'm paying a lot less.

Maybe Sun Broadband is fast because they are still new, how about if their costumer getting bigger? By the way how much is the Sun broadband? By the way I am using Digitel broadband and I'm satisfied even though sometimes my Internet connection is interrupted but I have always connected.

My internet serive provider sucks too, it used to always get disconnected for no particular reason, I have asked the technique to come fix for couple times, they finally changed my modem for me so the stability has been better than it used to be when I first signed up the plan but it is not perfect, it still gets disconnected once in a while.

Yup, i agree for you, my internet sucks to, i wonder why the provider can't be honest with customer, she/he says, yes i give u for faster connection, but what true, it happens only 2 week for speed and then low for forever... just information i life in indonesia. Hopely the ISP can be honest to customer, do you agree ?
