This is his second year in college. He just left about 20 minutes ago. As much as I was ready for him to go back to school, I am so sad not to have him around. He is such a great kid, and an amazing cook.... Damn it man, I am going to miss my boy. Does it ever get any easier when he leaves??

Momma, I don't know yet how it feels when our kids go away to college, but I know that when my daughter was away in Portugal for 1 year I felt awful. She came to visit during Christmas and when she left again it wasn't any easier to see her go. I was talking to her everyday on msn and I knew she was with my mom, so she was fine, but still, it was an horrible feeling.
Big hug to you

Nope. Mine started college in North Carolina last friday. She's an entire continent away for the next 10 months. I miss her like crazy. Thank heavens for Skype. But the way that I look at it that I want her to be happy and enjoy her life. This is what she wants and who am I to stand in her way.

Oh trust me, I am so so happy for him. I know this is what he wants and i can't be happier that he is following his dream. I didn't even know i was allowed to dream growing up. and now my son is following his. I am blessed and honored just to be apart of that by being his mother.

I am not sure if it ever gets any easier as I do not have any children in collage right now. My daughter will graduate this year and I may have to deal with college afterwards. She is not sure yet. I am sure it will not be easy for me to let her go at any time also though.
