I am neither republican or democrat.I vote for whoever I feel that can do the job.I do know and see people that are so "wrapped up" in the party that they chose they will vote for them anyway. It doesn't matter if they have the right political views or not. They get so "wrapped up" in their parties that if Jesus Christ himself appeared in front of them and said that He was in the opposite party they would find something wrong with Him. Do you know or have seen people like that?

Oh there are many people like that. But it's even worse than you describe. It is sadly very common for a Democrat to criticize something the Republican politician does but then it's okay when the Democrat politician does the same thing. Likewise there are Republicans who are okay with a Republican politician doing something, but get all bent out of shape when a Democrat does the same thing. Fortunately there are several people here on mylot that despite their political leanings(both liberal and conservative), call politicians from both sides of the aisle out when they are doing something wrong.

You are right,if one person from party A does something, then someone from party B will say it is terrible. But if someone from their party does it then,it's fine. They sound, like a bunch of kids

I voted for Obama.I feel that what the problem was that Bush spent the money in the wrong places, where Obama isn't.Also,Obama has to spend to start getting us out of this rut that Bush put us in.That's just my opinion. Look at it this way,we do not know if you are black, white or purple! So,if you are black (or purple, lol)then if you said something against a white president, then you would be racist too. Like,Obama said he cannot please everyone with everything. So,neither can we.

It does amaze me how some people will criticize a member of another party while having no idea what that person stands for. I was amazed at how many people called Norm Coleman a right wing extremist despite the fact that he's a former democrat that as a Republican only voted with his party 40-50% of the time. Political parties are kind of like a guide for someone who needs "Voting for Dummies" because they are too lazy to learn anything about the candidates beyond the letter next to their name.

I would have to say that I am neither a Republican or a Democrat either. I value views from both sides of them. I am my own person with my own thoughts of thinsg too. I vote for whoever can do the best job also.

oh yea.but these same people have one sided views in general, politics or not. they just get caught up in the flow and run with it instead of examining the particulars.

Yes i sa wmany people involved in political parties that are really affected about their party and so everything the party say is right and all the opposite will say is wrong..i guess that the majority of people are also involved as regards their itnerests and not really about just the idea...there are also some which they are affected about policy in general but they are really a few!! Personally i don't know if in my life i will be a ble to be affected by a political party because in many cases they will do the wrong things for community and the right for their interests and so till know i really did not like policy, parties or involved in it!!

There are many examples of that right here on mylot. I'm a registered Republican...been one for decades...but just because I cast my vote against the lackluster and far from confidence building team of McCain/Palin..I'm automatically a liberal democrat in the narrow minds of some folks. I belong to a party but the party is not me and I still have free will which I exercise.

That's right.God gave us free will and minds to run that free will.Just like anything. My favorite color is turquoise, but I go into a store and see some purses and one is turquoise and one is pink. The turquoise one is very small and plain and the pink one is larger and is made of a brighter material that matches a few of my shirts. But if I buy the pink one then people tell me that I cannot say that my favorite color is turquoise.I am then a "turquoise trader"

I believe this is the way most Americans feel and its why Barack Obama won. Political Parties are not the country. The people are the country, which is why eventually health care will pass because everyone who has ever loss someone close to them because they did not have enough money will want it. Political parties help a process but they are not the people.
