I like to have long nails with nail polish on, but it is difficult for me to find time in busy life. I don't have time to shape the nails and keep changing polish according to the color of the dress I wear. I love to see girls with long nails. Do you like to keep long nails with polish on? Men: Do you like your women with long nails?

I have kept my nails long since my high school. I studied in a convent school and it was strictly not allowed to keep nails, there were even sudden inspections. ALso my parents never allowed me to keep long nails. I wouldnt sleep all night the day when they say that they plan to cut it off while i am asleep. I used to keep one colour for a week and the clean it on saturday night, leave the nail to breathe on sunday and again reapply a new color the next day. My bilolgy miss was literally after me to cut it short...hi hi

Hey! My parents didnt care so much on the size of my nails. They did think the colors I picked were wild and crazy though LOL . For the longest time I could not grow my nails long.

Ah i frgot to mention, it happened to me too...Once I went to this shop and saw black colour nail polish...I instantly bought it...But faced strong opposition to wear it...That time at our place we used to get very basic colours, black and green had just entered the market but I had to settle with a light grey shade hi hi

I like long nails but the main reason for me growing nails is to avoid biting it :) Yes, i bite my nails extensively and when it comes to a stage where only my fingers are left to chew, i curse myself for having such dirty habits and then start growing nails. I polish them so that i avoid biting/chewing them. I don't change my nail polish according to my dress and all - if i had so much of time i would indulge myself into something else. I rather don't even have time remove the polish when they start peeling off.

I don't know if this would help you with your nail biting but it might. They have a clear top coat that you can put on after you apply the color polish you want. But this top coat is made to help you from biting as it has a very bitter flavor so when you go to bite you'll taste it. If you like the taste or it's not something that bothers you it probably wouldn't work though.

Hey! I never was a nail biter but when I was younger I was never able to grow them all that long. Now I can grow them semi long and I like to keep the color light and simple . My one friend all she does is chew her nails and my gosh they bleed and looks like they would hurt.

It depends on my mood, there are days that i like my nails long and polished, but there are days I just like it short and plain. Longs nails make my fingers look longer and more feminine. It makes me feel like i have really took the time to take care of my self. Polishing my nails to means pampering my self. Short and plain nails make me feel simple. No nail polish to retouch, I can just leave it at is. So it really depends on how i feel for the day.

I think when I was younger I cared more about the colors on my nails. Now I just use a clear polish and before I know it my nails are long . if I have somewhere to go that is nice then I take the time out.

I never like long nails, however, I seldom cut my nails too because I am lazy :D It gets into my way a little too much, for examples: I always hit the wrong key on the keyboard when typing, I tends to scratch myself accidentally at times.. etc etc. I used to polish my fingers a lot in the past. Loves dark blue color nail polish ^_^ Lately, life has been too busy for me to spare time polishing nails, so I have gave up on it. Lol Have a good day and happy mylotting to you~

I used to keep long nails once, but now with so many household chores I do not find time to maintain my nails, I also find it difficult to work with long nails and the polish is gone while washing or cleaning.

For me as well it has always been hard for me to keep the polish on and that is why for the most part I will use a clear polish . I like to swim all summer so having color around that time is hard.

Medium length nails are easier to maintain, look nicer longer and are easier to work with if you are a working girl. I am afraid to eat the cooking of anyone with really long nails because I do not believe she can keep really long nails clean. If you have a special date, then by all means get the special nails and fancy polish. But for every day wear, I prefer a more conservative look. There are nail polish and lipstick colors that are pretty, match your skin tone, and go with just about anything.

It is nice to hear that you have long nails. I had a friend, my neighbour who used to have longs nails. She used to take good care of her nails. Now, I am married and moved to a different city. I haven't met her for a long time and I don't whether she still keeps the long nails. It was very pretty to watch and I used to be jealous about it.

I don't wear nail polish on my fingernails, and I don't keep my nails long. I always trim my nails whenever it is a bit long. It's easier to have short nails for me and it's not expensive either LOL. But I do put nail polish on my toe nails if there are occasions only. And I go to the salon.

Hi Daliaj, Well, I like to have long nails with nail polish on :D although I have a hard time getting them to the length I like. I like to use a neutral color that goes with many outfits as I like to change once every week or two. Right now I like to use the ready ones, just heat them and I'm ready :D thanks for sharing

What do you mean by ready ones? Is that something like instant nail polish? I have never heard about that. I live in India and I have never seen something like that in any store. I use the normal nail polish which is in liquid form and I change it once in a while. It is good to use neutral colors like white or off white or pale pink. Most of my dresses are of that color.

I do like my nails with a little length. I remember the first time I had really long nails. I had to get used to typing, picking up small things, even writing with a pen was awkward for me. Now I just like them to be semi long, but I like to have polish on my nails. I usually paint my nails a color that reflects what I'm wearing. Somthing that matches or compliments my outfit. I've seen some women with stuff like charms that go through the thip of their nail, or rhinestones glued on. There is alot you can do to decorate your nails, I guess you just have to be creative. :D

I would love to be able to wear my nails long and wear nail polish, but in my line of work (childcare) I m not aloud to. I could scratch the children or if the nail polish came off a child could pick it up and place in their mouths, which could make them sick. If I could I would, because I think long shapely nails and a nice nail polish looks very sophisticated.

Hello! Back when I was in school I could never grow my nails long. They were not short though . Just like you say change the color depending on what you were wearing ,and I would do that as well . I remember spending endless hours on my nails and wearing all crazy colors like: silver, purple, blue, greens, mixing and making my own colors LOL. Now I can grow long nails and I usually like a clear shiny polish ;) Or I like a lighter color that will go with all things . I am not so good with the dark colors and I think they show mistakes more often. Might like it darker if I could get someone to do mine

The same thing happened during my childhoo days. I studied in a convent school run by Christian nuns. It is a rule that students are not allowed to wear any ornaments like chain, bangles or rings, not much make up etc. There was no written rule saying don't use nail polish, but most of the teachers were strict about not using nail polish. I remember the time when my teacher sent me out of the class since I had nail polish on my nails. She got a blade from another student and asked me to take the polish out. I stood outside the class and took all the polish out using the blade. Then only the teacher allowed me to get in.

Hi daliaj, I think we're quite the opposite. I don't like long nails and colored fingernails, but I can live with colored toenails. I maintain short fingernails with colorless nail polish. I can be a little experimental with my toenails though, sometimes I want to have them colored, but the color has to be light - either skintone, beige or platinum. I don't want those bright colored nail polish, I find them too loud and they don't fit my personality. Peace!

Thanks for your response. I had a thought that most of the guys like girls with long nails, but now I am seeing that it depends on personal pereferences. Yes, cleaning the nails is a pain. When I was in school, I was not introduced to nail polish remover. At that time, I used blade to scratch and remove the nail polish. It is a very difficult process.

Before my daughter was born i used to have long beautiful nails that i had manicured and polished every 2 weeks but i had to have them cut short when she was born so that i didnt scratch her. Now my nails are really short and for some reason ive taken to biting them which i hate, i dont know why, maybe its because children give you stress

One of my colleagues also bite the nails. She said that she bite more often if she is stressed. So, I think stress has a part in that. Yes, it is good and safe to keep short nails since you have to take care of the baby. My mom used to keep the nails of her two nails long incase she wants to open some tins. Thanks for the response.

Confession: I don't know how to paint my nails. I must belong to a minority group or something. Somehow, it is an art that passed me by. So I have to get my nails painted professionally. I am never patient enough to let them grow out; I usually end up biting them. That is one of the reasons why I lile getting my nails painted. But I love the feeling I get - when they are painted and polished. There's a new bounce in my step, and a swing in my walk. It's definitely a great tool to cheer me up.
