Both have it´s charms. I like to swim at a pool but love to play with the waves at the beach.

I only have one choice, a pool. I live too far away from the ocean and most of the lakes anywhere near here aren't really that safe to swim in.

I prefer the pool. I don't know but personally, i feel the beach is kind of messy. I feel something sticky on my skin and i hate the combination of sun and salt on my body. I easily gets sunburned. I enjoy the pool. It's pretty smooth to be swimming on them. Pool is a lot safer too since it has a level bottom unlike the beach where it's getting deeper as you go farther.

Yes, me too I don't like the combination of salt and sun in my body. My skin is very prone to sunburn and my nose easily irritated so I prefer swimming pool which has a clean water and I can freely swim without fear of being carried to the deepest part of the water or be slammed by the waves.

i prefer the beach, the water is spontaneous unlike in the swimming pool water sometimes stay for many days before they have to changed.i enjoy swimming in the beach because of the nice scenery and i love natures.i like to take photo of the place and when i am in the water.i really love to collect shells, star fish in the seashore.i also prefer a beach for another reason, one is to smell a fresh air and quiet and peace because of stress from work i got easily exhausted.

I like swimming in a pool more . I need to buy a good pair of water shoes to wear in the ocean. There are big rocks and pieces of glass that you step on . Once I get the water shoes I will swim in the ocean a little more . I just worry about where I'm stepping

I am more fascinated with swimming pool than at the beach because I can freely swim at the pool without fear of being carried by the big waves.hehehe.. I am glad that beaches in surigao del sur have no rocks so I can swim there without wearing anything in my feet.

It is fun to jump around and soak in the salt water but when it comes to swimming, I prefer to swim in the pool. At the pool at least I know the depth and the area is limited and safer. In the sea, it is hard to know where the shallow part ends, that will be disaster if I feel tired and need to stand up. In the pool, I can easily reach the side.

That's my fear also, because in the sea it is hard to determine what part is shallow and deep. In the pool of course there's marker what feet are you in.

I love the beach, don't get me wrong, but when it all comes down to it, I much prefer to swim in a pool. Two main reasons for this, the first is that I'd have to drive over 12 hours to get to a beach to swim. So, when I have the opportunity to visit the beach, I take it but I cannot make a special trip to swim at the beach. The second reason is that I have two small children and when we are swimming in the pool it is very easy to keep an eye on them whereas with the beach it would be nearly impossible.

Yes, when you have small children, swimming at the sea is very dangerous because of the big waves and strong current of water, but in the pool, you can keep an eye on them and it is more safe.

Swimming at the beach is the best! Nothing beats it, its beautiful out there more open space and crowded like pools in the cities that have little kids going to the bathroom in every 5 seconds. All in all the beach is better can go and get your tan on as well :P

Thanks for your response. Yes, a lot of people really loved swimming at the beach. Every time I went home I had a grand time at the beach since our house is near the beach.lol!

I like to swim at the beach. I really am not that much of a fan of pools unless the water is heated. I dont like to swim in cold water. I really dont like swimming at indoor pools in the wintertime that much. If I do swim in the pool I want it to be outside in the summertime.

i prefer swimming on a beach. i like it natural. whenever i go to beaches, i ask some lifeguard for goggles (i dont have one) to see underwater and we kind of have fun whenever we see fishes. and it's a tradition to force a boat man to let us all in to a boat having a capacity of 2 passengers. hehehe.. in a pool, it's only cool for me if i stay overnight on a resort.

Yes, I loved beaches also. Back home in the province, I frequently go out to the beach since our house is near the coastal area. It was always relaxing to sit down near the beach and enjoy the scenic view.

We don't have a beach, but we do have a lake. I enjoy swimming there rather than at a pool because I want to swim. Lots of times pools aren't big enough or they are too crowded. The lake gives me lots of room for swimming.

Wow, lake is a wonderful place for swimming. I grew up in a province surrounded by Lakes and oftentimes, during my younger years, I go out swimming with my friends. Lake is super nice because the water is sometimes warm and cold.

I like the ocean because of the waves. There's nothing like body surfing to shore, laying in the hot sand, the smell of the coastal air...and of course the fresh seafood we get for dinner. Swimming at fresh water lakes is also nice, because of the fresh air and the smell of people's BBQ grills cooking up chicken, hotdogs and hamburgers. Swimming at the beach or a lake is more relaxing too. People tend to make a day of it with swimming, people watching, reading and eating, etc. If you go to a pool you usually swim and then leave. Plus, I have light colored hair, and the heavy chlorine used in public pools makes it turn green. I also don't like smelling like I just stepped out of a load of bleached laundry.

While I LOVE being at the beach, I'd much rather SWIM in a swimming pool. I get nervous about sharks and jelly fish when I'm swimming in the ocean. I do enjoy riding the waves some in the ocean though. If I had to pick a favorite, I'd say I like swimming in pools best!

Me too, very afraid of shark, jelly fish and other sea creatures which usually found when swimming. Plus I am afraid of any sharp objects that might hurt my feet. When I was still young, I already wounded with a broken glass when I gone swimming, so it is better to swim at the pool, very safe.

wahahahha!ok, I understand what you mean. Actually I had a similar experience too when I was still in our province and frequently go out to the beach for swimming, it was really dreadful having those "waste" floating around the sea. goshhhhhhhh

The beach! lol its much more of a challenge and it works your muscles harder then the pool does as you are fighting both the current and waves most times. The pool is good for relaxing on a floaty with a martini in your hand^_^ Though i can understand why most would prefer to swim in the pool, it's Much safer

yes, that's true plus it has more fun because according to Physics our body is more dense in the salt water than water in a pool, that's why we can stay float in the sea rather than in a swimming pool.

I like swimming at the pool because the city where I live is too cold for any outdoor swimming. I think it would be fun to swim at the beach. After swimming at a pool, my hair would smell like chlorine for a long time but I wouldn't mind smelling salty like the beach. ^.^ Happy mylotting

Well the beach is definitely more beautiful, but I think that a swimming pool is much easier if all you want to do is swim. I guess a pool would be much cleaner too due to the regular maintenance, but with a beach, it is all natural, so unless it is a really gorgeous beach, it's likely to be quite dirty. I also find swimming at a beach quite difficult because of the strong waves of the water.

im totally agree with you as it is more comfort to swim at pool especially in our private pool (i hope i have one!!) More elite i think. Although it is almost the same about the crowd wheter you swim at pool or beach, but i think pool is more clean than beach. beside i dont really like the hot of the beach.
