Artichoke Liquer?

I've always been interested in strange and offbeat liquors and liqueurs, and Cynar is among them. I have read about it, and know that it is made from artichokes and desperately want to try it, but it's hard to come by and not the cheapest thing. Has anyone tried Cynar, what did you think? Also any suggestions on how to drink it, what to drink it with?
