Recently I have been to a road side small restaurant to have something to eat.The restaurant is a nice one and when i entered it I was shocked to see the owner of the restaurant beating a small child .When i enquired why he was beating that small child the owner replied that the child is a worker there and he broke some glasses.I was really upset with that instant.I know that there are child labourers but i have never before been the witness of such a scene.I felt really pity about that boy.All the children of his age are enjoying while he is struck with this work only because his father cannot find work anywhere and unable to feed his family so he put all his children at work somewhere.
What do you think should be done with childlabour.I really don't know how many countries suffer with this problem but its very cruel to harass children like that what do you say?

wow, that's really sad! in the united states we do have laws protecting children from abuse by parents or employers. I'm glad you confronted him. maybe, though maybe not, he will see that you are right and hittng him will not change what happened. Probably this man was abused when he was a child.
And yes, I do believe that there are psychological affects on abused children: they are angry, do not trust most people and it changes how they interact with other people.

Hi,
Do you have some kind of labor laws in your country where you can report this person, because that kind of behavior is just unacceptable, especially in today's day and age? I really hope you do because that kind of practice shouldn't be tolerated. Of course I'm aware that in some countries, there are small children working to help provide for the family, which I have to admit just saddens me because it takes away a child's innocence forever, they're forced to grow up before their time, and I think it also hardens them and turns them cynical. It does has severe psychological effects on a child. This is a sensitive subject for me because my father was a child laborer at 5 yrs of age, sent off to live with strangers and beaten if they didn't like his work, and I can tell you he is still traumatized by that today. If I were you I'd seriously report this man to the authorities because he can't be allowed to get away with that kind of behavior. I'm trying to remember the name of that International organization that helps kids in that situation..Does anyone know? Is it Unicef? I just can't remember...

Ya you are right strict laws are to be implemented and if possible the government should form a special wing dedicated only to eradicate child labour and make sure that every child goes to school and sees that every child abuser gets correct treatment

I agree, it is harsh enough that a child should work for a living but getting beat for something so materialistic compared to the emotional scars it will leave it is not acceptable in my opinion.
And it's up to every country and their respective authorities to look into that otherwise these may create disorder and have people take issues in their own hands.

And I also think that children who have been beaten up like this tends to hate the society that they lived and become antisocial elements

There you go, that's why so many people grow up with some disorder, and I don't mean they're insane, crazy or anything, they simply have some hate, repression, anger in them and that's not good.

We have child labor laws in our country and that is very outrageous. It is our duty to be vigilant and report to authorities if there is any rights of the child that is violated because they cannot defend themselves as they as they are only children and we adults should protect them and show them that we care.
