Think about this and answer it however you see fit: Are you a shoe or a sock?

This is a philisophical question you can answer it any way you like. When describing yourself would you say you were a shoe or a sock?
I said I was a sock because although my outside might seem hard, I am actually soft on the inside.
My wife said she considered me a shoe because I made her feel safe and protected like a shoe protects a foot.
Think of this any way you want to though.

this is a really good question. i would have to say i'm the socks. because like you i come across as a hard person to many, but inside i have a soft side that many really dont get to see much.

Thank you for answering, I was worried I would not get any responses from anyone on this one, but it really makes you think.

I guess for me it would depend on the role I am playing. For my children I am like a shoe, hard and protective, but warm inside. To the rest of the world I would say probably more like a sock, soft and caring, and close to the skin. That is a really good and interesting question. @prinzcy (32299)

I see myself as a shoe. I'm hard and covered outside but warm and comfortable inside. I'll go any length with the one that be with me (or wear me in a shoe term) A sock is more like soft on the outside but strong and durable from the inside. I don't think I am fit for a sock.
