Two people have found the money I marked so far. I'm averaging one dollar found

per month. I've marked $45 ones with where's george. com. So far two people have written back, one from Rouses Point NY which gives me credit for a find in Clinton County and one in Canton NY which gives me credit for St. Lawrence County. From what I'm reading on the site, 1 a month isn't bad. Some people have taken 3 months or longer before anyone registered finding a where'sgeorge dollar of theirs. There are over 60 counties in NY State, so I have a long way to go before I cover all the counties. I'm hoping that I get a response from another state, soon, too. Seems like I should get a response from Vermont soon. I also hope I receive a response from some Canadian provinces since we're so near the border. So have you tried any experiments with money? Are there a lot of counties/parishes/subdivisions in your state? Does your state/province do a lot of business in your area with a state/province next door? Are you near another country?

Seems like there are a lot of fun games going on now that most people use the net!! i have heard of two alone just on the last two days of mylotting. yours with the money, and one with disposible cameras.. I also recently heard about geocaching which i think is pretty neat.. I also seen a girl on youtube that sticks clothespins on random people with websites or slogans on them. lol that sounds like fun! Good luck writer! hope all your money gets found!

Guess what? My honey just handed me a single and said "didn't you say something about where's George on a bill?" and I looked at it and there it was stamped in red with the serial numbers underlined! I haven't entered it yet, I wanted to come here and tell you about it, my first one! I can't wait to find out where it traveled from!

Thanks for the + at any rate! He found a twenty recently which we both think is funny since it should be "where's Andy?" I entered that one earlier today and discovered it started out in Dallas.

I am still searching for you. Can't seem to find any bills beyond "M." There are many counties in and around the St. Louis area. Also, some of my money comes from one of the local casinos so I should have a variety. I check every one of the bills as soon as I get them. Will keep you posted if I find N-Z. We aren't near any other countries however we are about 20 min. from Illinois. Take care and good luck, carolbee

Its been two years since you wrote this... I wonder if all the money you marked has been found. I think I have seen money marked with things before that you were supposed to track them but I never bothered. Is this just for fun or is there actually something you get out of it like an award or something?

It's just for fun. I learn a lot from this. Like my money going to countries I've never heard of or ones I have, but never was sure where they were in the world. Also the Federal reserve codes and what they mean, etc. No, sadly, most people don't go to the site and tell me where my money is. But someone in the UK did and that was far out! I have Puerto Rico and other places, too.

What a fun game! But I seldom use cash--mostly checks--so I'm not a player, sorry to say. Were I to mark a bill, I'm sure it'd be the last I ever heard of it again, just as with all my money! Now, I have decorated money using colored pens & pencils, & glitter inks. People always go WOW when they get them. Irrepressible artist, here.... Maggiepie "WHERE'S THE BIRTH CERTIFICATE?"

That sounds like lots of fun. As long as you don't mark them so that they can't be used, legal. I think you'd have a good time with wheresgeorge.com Someone just had a bill that went from California to Australia, can you imagine? That's pretty cool. Thanks for responding and take care.

Oh yeah--I make sure they're still spendable. In fact, I could do more to them than I do, it seems. I mean. have you ever seen the "decorated legal tender" bills with Santa instead of a president? Those obliterate the prez, yet one can still spend them! People put them in Christmas stockings! Maggiepie "WHERE'S THE BIRTH CERTIFICATE?"

hahahhahah okay that's too funny i have never heard of people drawing over the presidents on your money. i'm canadian .. i dont think the Queen would turn into santa so well.. and actually most of our bills no longer even have people on them. i think you americans refer to our money as monopoly money. And if we were to play this game with 1$, well its pretty hard to write on a coin.. haha. we would go broke, our lowest bill is a 5!!
